Allowed to drive more than 25ks what a lovely place we chose. Never been before but would gladly come back. Caravan site right on the lake, very peaceful and relaxing. Great sunsets and a nice 3.7ks walk around lake which we did everyday. It was a midweek stay for 5 days, very quiet but weekends/school hols would be very busy with boats, canoes and water sports enthusiasts.
the cabin was very clean. The cabin is cramped and the lounge/sofa was so worn out you nearly sit on the floor when using it. $130 per night is too much for this cabin. Also the cabins themselves are all so closely grouped together, uncomfortably close.
We stayed at the Boort Lakes Holiday Park in November 2019 The caravan park is situated in an ideal setting along the banks of a large lake. Cabins and camping sites front the lake with rear units facing a channel. The lakes edge camping sites are well grassed and have basic power and tap connections. Our power connection , despite appearances (semi burnt appearance) worked ok , but was indicative of the park in general. The toilet shower block was clean, smalll and best described as basic. Most of the prime lakeside spots apear to be taken by permanents and some cabins. The reception staff were very helpfull, but limited (when we were there) by an apparent lack of resources eg no park map etc. Our stay was marred by very strong winds (50 klm gusts) due to the lake…
stayed in this park on our big trip south, what a lovely park. The location is superb, within walking distance to the shops, what is open that is, the owners are so friendly and keep the park clean and tidy. It's a shame the town centre is mostly "closed" hard to find a meal whilst we were there, thank goodness for the great pizza from the cafe located in the BP service station of all places.
Stayed at this caravan park as part of a 40th birthday gathering. This park is probably one of the best parks we have stayed in. Owners are absolutely wonderful and can not do enough for you. They run a top operation. The parks is in a great location being on the lake and being close to supermarket, bowling club and hotel. Lots for kids to do as well. We will be definitely heading back.
Superb hosts. We held a family event at the ski club there and they were fantastic making sure it all ran as smoothly as possible for us. Family members booked cabins and sites and Tim and Wendy were so obliging with everything leading up to our stay, during and afterwards. The lake location is perfect, so serene, and the local township had everything we needed including great coffee just a short walk away. Will definitely stay here again!
While we were offered the best water front cabin, the water and outlook were wonderful , the hills and lakes nearby maybe small but lots of natural regeneration interest nearby - south . A quiet lovely town and district with the garden of the farmer with all the spanner sculptures nearby
This was our second stay here as an overnight stop on a road trip, also meeting with the new management. I think they have found their calling, so friendly and hospitable from booking, through to our brief stay, even discounting the powered sights as we were only sleeping in swags. It is a well manicured park situated on the lake where I think wherever you stay there is a view of it .Located in town too, so walking distance to the pub, winning! There is plenty to do here and I will be back again for an extended stay with family, but probably in the warmer months.
Recently visited the small country town of Boort and camped at the caravan park - enjoyed our stay - had a grassy powered site which had great views overlooking the lake (Little Lake Boort). Very clean and updated amenities block near office with great hot showers, compared to some other parks we've stayed at. Staff very friendly and helpful - owner Wendy went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The lake is a great spot for skiing, boating or paddling a canoe and enjoying a BBQ overlooking the lake.
Friendly, helpful beyond the expected, very good amenities....a good experience!A joy to sit at the Lakefront for a quiet beer or in conversation with friendly neighbors. Richard Harrison Haydn Harrison
