We have stayed at Lyrebird cottages 4 times now and each time it has been such a relaxing getaway and we leave feeling rejuventated. It's only a short drive from Melbourne but really does feel like you are a million miles away! The bushland surroundings are truly beautiful and we loved listening to the birds and watching the sunset. The...

As other reviewers have said, this place is relaxing, with top notch amenities and beautiful surrounds. My partner and I stayed for a long weekend and explored Healesville and other parts of the valley - but you could just as easily chill out in the cottage all weekend and have a good time. Our favourite aspect was the magnificent forest...

Thanks for your lovely comments. We have tried to make the cottage a peaceful and comfortable retreat to compliment its surroundings. The sound of birds and sometimes the wind moving through the forest can be all the sound you hear. If it is cold outside the wood fire and natural light let you enjoy nature from inside the cottage. Look...

We had a great stay at the Lyrebird Cottage, the Silver Wattle to be exact. It's just a short drive away from Melbourne, but really makes you feel like you are far away and on a beautiful holiday with a fantastic view. We loved watching the sunset from up there on the porch at that elevation. The breakfast they left...

It's a cosy cottage with 180 degree views of beautiful bushland and everything you need to stay in for a relaxing getaway. But as there is so much to explore in the Yarra Valley you should organise at least one activity outside of the cottage. My girlfriend and I stayed two nights and did plenty of relaxing but we also...

Thanks Luke for your generous comments. Really glad you both enjoyed the bushwalk with Karen. She has many years experience at Healesville Sanctuary and is delighted to show people the forests she knows so well. TarraWarra is also one of our favourite venues in the Yarra Vallley. The setting is lovely with a very good restaurant. And then there is...

A beautiful cottage with a great view of the forest and lights off in the distance. We missed the sunset but the last glimmers of it were lovely. A nice quiet place with only the sound of birds and cicadas around.

So glad you enjoyed the peace and quiet - summer is a great time for the sunsets and even a goanna was spotted today!

We were recommended to stay at Tessa & Stewart's cottages by a friend, and it was a great recommend. Tucked away at the top of Mount T(insert hard to pronounce name here), we were met by Stewart and given a quick tour of the cottage, then left to our own devices. We stayed in Silver Wattle, with a view through...

We stayed at Lyrebird in the Silver Wattle Cabin on our way home from a hectic weekend wedding. The cabin was ready on our arrival, with everything we needed to just "chill" and recover. The fittings and supplies, (local ++++), were of the highest standard. I had the best sleep for years in that incredible bed. Spa and fire were...

Lyrebird Cottages provided us with a perfect bush setting to chill out and relax together. The views were stunning & the wildlife and gardens enjoyed immensely. The cottage was clean, cosy and modern, with all needed amenities for a wonderful weekend away from it all. Shops, restaurants and places of interest were all readily accessible, which made for a fantastic...

Thanks for your lovely review - being away from it all, yet close to everything and sharing time together ... it's a pretty good combination!

The cottage was exactly what I expected. A cosy and peaceful place. I loved all the little details and the owners were very nice. We also ordered dinner, which was delicious and not expansive at all. I even saw a wallabee on our last day ! And the bathtub is a must. Would definitely recommand this place, for at least...
