Described as “olde worlde” which is true enough, but it still has comfortable beds and charming and helpful hosts. Yes, you do have to share bathrooms, but these are clean and well-looked after (although if the place was full, things might get a bit busy – but I got the impression that bookings are managed so that this doesn’t happen...

My wife, myself and 2 friends stayed here 2 nights on a motorcycle ride around the country. We stayed in the original police station built in 1882, restored so well and to as original a facade as possible. Immaculate, clean, fantastic hosts in Trish & John. Great breakfast and we were looked after so well. We will go out of...

Highly recommend, very warm friendly proprietors Trish and John. Very cosy clean homely accomodation, beautiful gardens . Reasonable rates. No dinner maybe if we had been able to give Trish more time, I' m not sure, discuss that with her. I will defiantly be going Back there next year when I do the Aussie Camino again, hopefully weather suitable to...

We greatly enjoyed our overnight stay at this charming place. It is a building full of quirky charm. There is a shared bathroom. However, the WiFi was readily available and without charge, everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable and the lighting is good. The Continental Breakfast was simple and plentiful. Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. We felt very grateful...

An excellent property at which to rest during the Great South West Walk. Ideally located to the facilities of the small hamlet of Nelson. Comfortable rooms with a mildly rustic charm about the facilities. Our hosts were very accommodating, friendly and helpful - even arranged a variation on our walks. Breakfast was a delight in the dining room overlooking the...

My parents and I had a wonderful days staying here while we walked (and hobbled) sections of The Great South West Walk. This is a truly lovely place to stay, full of character and history. John and Trish have put much thought into making your stay comfortable and they themselves are delightful hosts with a wealth of local and life...

We spent 4 nights at Nelson Cottage while doing nearby portions of the Great SW Walwk. The cottage has wonderful character and charm. We stayed in the rooms that used to be the police station, which have been combined into a comfortable and spacious unit. As there were only two rooms occupied at the time we were there, we were...

We stayed in this lovely bed and breakfast for one night. We were greeted with warmth and a lovely friendly smile. We were given a choice of rooms which were all lovely and with electric blankets. The bathroom was great and had all the necessary requirements. The sitting room was filled with books, games a tv and a beautiful open...

Tiny Nelson was a convenient stop for us en route from Melbourne to Adelaide, and this delightful bed and breakfast made it a fine stay in an otherwise quite unremarkable little town (or did we miss something?). We were warmly greeted by the hostess and, given that all rooms were available despite it being a Saturday night, we got a...
