My partner and I enjoyed an extended long weekend staying in the Como Cottage. Location was great, walking distance to food and shopping, and only a short day trip into the Yarra Valley. We were disappointed that we couldn’t use the fireplace as by March the evenings were starting to cool down and it would’ve added a nice atmosphere to our nights in. The cottage was clean and very comfortable, a nice range of breakfast items were included, but not quite enough for our entire stay. Thank you.
We stayed for 2 nights in The Forget Me Not Cottage. Amazing place with all the facilities you could want. A beautiful breakfast was supplied and bubbles for the claw bath. A cosy conservatory to relax in. In walking distance to shops.
I went to Como Cottages for a short visit and ended up staying for three months! The guys here a extremely welcoming. Brett, Melinda, and Sarah laid on 5***** hospitality. I stayed in Caretakers Cottage and then Garden Cottage, both cottages are extremely comfortable, with everything you could possibly need for your stay. They also provide a lot of extras, breakfast, fresh eggs, butter, spreads, fresh milk and bread, plus lots more. The Garden Cottage was amazing, extra large rolltop bath, open fire for cold evenings, and an amazing deck overlooking the fantastic gardens, and still remains private. The supermarket is super close, with a bottleshop, and some cute cafe's and restaurants within a short walk. There are some beautiful walks all around Olinda, Mathias trail and the Botanical Gardens were my favourites. I would highly++ recommend Como Cottages for a long or short stay. Como Cottages are only a easy 40 minute drive from Melbourne city, and I'll be back there very soon for my next break. Thank you Brett, Melinda and Sarah for my best holiday ever!…
Como Cottages are absolutely mountain bliss for a romantic couples retreat away from our day to day work lives. My husband & I have stayed on three occasions over the last few years at The Caretakers Cottage, The Lavender Cottage & most recently The Cottswood Cottage. Brett & Melinda’s attention to detail makes your stay heartfelt & special. The care they take in providing a cosy & romantic environment is compared to none other! They give you the secluded space to escape from the realities of life, whilst always making sure you have the things you need to have an amazing holiday; E.g. Refilling your wood outside your cottage each morning for the cosy fires & providing incredible breakfast options for your stay with them. But don’t fear, there is absolutely no intrusion during your trip away, as all those things are magically there when you need them & they don’t interfere with your personal space. Their attention to detail regarding the delicate historical items around the cottages make your stay even more special & having respect for this when you stay with them is just a given. Thank you for our stay & rest assured we will be back again when we need a restful break from life in a magical place!…
Convenient for walking to shops and restaurants, easy access for hiking. Lots of little knickknacks in cottage. Great shower. Internet very slow to nonexistent. Between two roads, heard road noise overnight but not extreme. Well stocked fridge with brekkie items. Cottage needs some repairs/updating (see photo)
Took my girlfriend away to the Mills Cottage for her birthday and I couldn’t of asked for more. Beautiful setting, log fire, spa bath (which we went most of our time over the weekend in) beautiful little balcony where we ate breakfast each morning and a fantastic little pub in the village down the road. Features of the cottage were perfect, the drive up Mount Dandenong was so relaxing and there’s heeps of things to see there. 10/10 would recommend and will be back
I never write reviews but I loved this place! Gorgeous location, lovely hosts, and the cottage was absolutely stunning. Not overly fancy or large, but rustic, warm, sophisticated and just a lovely environment! Would definitely recommend!
I stayed in one of the cottages with my 2 children. The cottage is literally 2 steps from the Main Street, which is great to explore for cafes and The Collective. The cottage was beautiful with many original features, a fireplace and traditional furnishings. The gardens were lovely too with some antique tools scattered about adding to the charm. I recommend.
Our family stayed in 4 of the cottages for a wedding. Hosts were very helpful and friendly, rooms were fantastic, very clean and well appointed, breakfast supplies were great. Was great to read about the history of the cottages, well done Brett and Melinda.
