We recently stayed at Max's Retreat for a special family weekend away. The entire experience was absolutely delightful. We arrived to be greeted by the owner, entered the beautiful retreat with the fire burning & welcomed with a bottle of Red Hill Estate wine. The care that was taken with the property and the attention to detail was greatly appreciated....

We stayed for 2 nights and had 3 couples celebrating a 50th birthday. The rooms were extremely comfortable with their own bathrooms with a full kitchen (which we cooked in one night) , large lounge and dining room. The B&B is located in a quiet location but only 300m away from the Red Hill village shops and restaurants. The best...

Hubby and I have just had a wonderful weekend stay at Max's retreat. The cottage is gorgeous. Very spacious but cosy too. We couldn't believe it was all for us only. Lots of little interesting knick knacks. The fireplace is beautifully warm. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. The breakfast provisions supplied were more than plentiful and varied. Everything you...

We came here with a group of friends and found a great accommodation. The management provided for our every need including breakfast provisions. There are four rooms all with ensuites and very comfortable beds. The kitchen facilities are excellent and meals are taken on a large sturdy dining table. Max's Retreat is situated in a beautiful forested area in the...

We have stayed at Max's Retreat on two occasions in 2015. One weekend in January and another weekend in October. We liked it so much in January that we came back again in October. On both occasions we had weddings to attend on the Mornington Peninsula. We had visitors from overseas and interstate staying with us on the second occasion...

We were lucky enough to book Max's retreat last week for accommodation for the family after a 60th birthday celebration. It was an amazing stay, unfortunately it was only too short! All the bedrooms are ensuite and decorated with a different theme and there are beautiful nick nacks throughout the house that make for interesting browsing. We had the fire...

Stayed for 2 nights at Max's retreat. I really liked the place - big warm fireplace, comfortable beds, well-stocked kitchen and rustic surroundings. The place is full of little knit-knacks here and there and my kids absolutely loved the wooden rocking plane and I was glad they had something to play with. Location wise it was pretty good too -...

Loved our stay at this well appointed venue. Arrived on a cold winter evening to a welcoming warm log fire and the hospitality of Marcus to greet us and show us around. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, it is lovely to go somewhere where ones expectations are exceeded. We will be back.

Max's has lovely views and a nice atmosphere. I found the food interesting but a the quality was lacking. For example we had the oyster w broth, the oyster was chewy n the broth not hot enough though the flavored were good. The dessert again were interesting but my husband ice cream was grainy and nine was mostly melted and...

I based my decision to book Max's Cottage based on the reviews on Tripadvisor, this is why I am not writing my own comments as I don't want anyone else to be as disappointed as I was. We arrived after dark, the place was signed but in the dark it is pretty hard to see any signs unless they are...
