Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing breakfast! There were absolutely no powdered eggs here! Everyone we came in contact with was pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean, updated, and the beds were comfortable. The fire pit was such a nice added touch too, along with freshly baked cookies every evening and popcorn a little later. Convenient location on the parkway which was important to us. A very nice stay for us at The Inn on the River, we hope to visit again!

This hotel is very conveniently located on the parkway in Pigeon Forge, near Wears Valley Road traffic light. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The daily breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items, and it was really good food. They have 2 pools, a firepit with chairs on the patio, hot tub, popcorn and cookies in the lobby (7p-10p), a snack shop, and easy check-in and check-out. Friendly staff. My only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer. I highly recommend this property.

Perfect location to walk to nearby restaurants. Great outside fire pit for enjoying river and meandering geese and ducks. Popcorn and juice served every evening. Great breakfast bar for all tastes from eggs, potatoes, sausage and biscuits & gravy to bagels, cereal, fruit, muffins and waffles.

Location, amenities, and atmosphere are wonderful. We've stayed here many times, and our experience is always the best! From the breakfast bar, to the indoor pool, to the outside firepit, hot chocolate and popcorn at night, to the river views, you can't beat it!

The sign in the room advises “Light Touch Clean” daily which is: “We will vacuum high-traffic areas, make the bed, refresh the bathroom, and tidy up”. Every 3rd day they will do a “full clean”. After being here two nights, I went to the front desk to ask about the sign and why no one had been to our room at all. I was told the policy changed and the sign should have been removed. Disappointing. Not the caliber of service or breakfast we have had in previous visits

Stayed here two nights during Wilderness Wildlife Week and had a very nice time. Assigned room 243 which is a King bed, fireplace room. It is "tucked away" at the end of the hall and far away from the noisy hallway and elevator area thankfully. Also, the laundry chute is just outside the door for fast disposal of towels when necessary. This room does not have any balcony, and the view overlooks the parking lot. The room is nicely furnished with two nightstands next to the bed each with a drawer, a nice large cabinet/closet/drawer unit which held the t.v., the mini-fridge, the microwave, the coffee maker (Keurig K-cup kind), and an "Alexa" unit to use. The mini-fridge had a small freezer unit. The microwave was rather small, but a common size for hotel rooms. The low-watt bar light on the upper side of the large wall unit controlled by a switch next to the door was burned out, so lighting was a bit dimmer than usual. The King bed was comfortable. I usually bring my own sheets when I travel because I like the comfort of good quality sheets that smell like my favorite fabric softner. Also in the room was a somewhat large chair which likely "folds out" into a small bed, but I didn't try to find out. The HVAC unit didn't get much use as I simply kept switching on the fireplace while in the room (it is on a timer with time-settings from 30 up to 120 minutes). The weather was cool, but not cold, so just an occasional heating of the room was all I needed (I like a cool room), and I simply ran the fan for white noise purposes. The bathroom was nice, clean, and brightly lit. The sink vanity area is rather small, so if you have multiple people, it would get crowded with everyone's toiletries. My biggest gripe is this "fad" to not have towel racks for hand towels. There's no where around the sink to hang a hand towel, so they simply "lay on the counter" and never dry. I've resorted to carrying my own portable hand-towel rack to alleviate this issue. There are four electrical plugs thankfully for grooming appliances. There is a nightlight in the light switch, but it's pretty dim, so I furnish my own. The shower is a "walk-in" glass unit with plenty of water pressure; it's great!! The shower water/temp control is on the "door end" of the shower which is a very nice feature. The only issue was the small amount of water running out when I opened and closed the door while the shower was on. There were two small shelves in the unit, and one "grab bar" on the door end. The lobby and breakfast area were wonderful at the hotel. The "coffee bar" items were available 24/7 including hot chocolate. Also, during the early evening, the cold drink machine was available during "popcorn time" from 7-10 PM. My friend and I enjoyed sitting in the lobby in the evenings enjoying popcorn and drinks by the fireplace. There's also a nice outdoor firepit area to enjoy. Breakfast can get hectic with so many guests, but staff does a good job restocking food items. Overall, this is a great place to stay in busy Pigeon Forge, and we will go back.

I think I may have come across one of the most unhelpful and unenthusiastic front desk clerks. If there was ever a case for someone that wanted to be somewhere else and disliked their job, this girl gets the prize. Sadly, this hotel lost revenue from my husband and I on Saturday, February 24, 2024. We already had a reservation to come in on Sunday for three nights, but we got a wild hair and decided to come on Saturday. We were not sure we would make it all the way because we left late and drove from best Montgomery, AL. But we made it and got in around 900pm. I checked the website and The Inn on The River had rooms!! But the webpage would only allow for a two night stay. So we drove over thinking we would get a room for the night and then check in the next day for our original reservation. Seems pretty easy. However when I went in and spoke to the front desk lady she quoted some ridiculous price that was way over what the webpage offered for AAA, senior (I’m 63), and government - qualify for all these. This girl was so unhelpful and said she could only do rates that came up on her screen and because I wasn’t staying two nights I could not book on the web. But I’m am!!! I would be staying a total of four nights. Needless to say we left. At this point I would not have booked a room for Saturday night at this place and given them the revenue. Poor excuse for a front desk clerk. You lost out on revenue you could have made due to an uninterested and unfriendly employee. She is NOT an asset to your establishment. I’ll be back on Sunday for my original reservation. Let’s hope things get better. Not impressed so far.

We always have a wonderful stat at Inn on the River! The rooms are spotless, the breakfast is delicious, and our grandchildren love feeding the ducks and exploring around the river. We also enjoy the firepit. The cookies and popcorn in the lobby are a big hit. The staff is very welcoming.

Comfortable beds! Amazing breakfast! Kids loved the pool and the nightly popcorn and drinks. Loved that they had music in the evening along with board games. We also Were able to walk next door to Pucketts for dinner! Amazing food Front desk was always helpful if we needed any linen. We didn’t remove the do not disturb sign one morning so we missed getting towels.
