We stayed here in our camper during the week of thanksgiving and we very happy with our stay. The camp ground is very clean and had all amenities we needed. I opted for the site with the patio and fire pit and it was very nice. Unfortunately, a burn ban at the time kept us from using the fire pit....

Townsend has some unique shops and good restaurants a good stop on the way to the Smokies or Gatlinburg. Just beware it is a speed trap and primary source of income. We stayed in Townsend for 3 Days and every time we were there shopping or eating someone was getting pulled over.

My husband and I just recently rented a deluxe cabin here at the KOA in Townsend for a week. We have been here before and love this place. We would much rather stay on the quiet side of the Smokies than in all the hassle of Gatlinburg. This KOA is centrally located between Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cades Cove, Cherokee, and...

Love, Love, Love this place! Campsite was level, staff was AWESOME (one sat with me and chatted for about an hour one night and invited us to tour the inside of their 5th Wheel, since we are considering buying one). Bathrooms were FANTASTIC, site was clean & the fudge was delicious. Sets the standard for all other KOA's.

My husband surprised me with an overnight in a primitive cabin for my birthday. The cabin was beautiful. Right on the river. I loved the porch swing. Being able to relax and swing on the porch next to the water was so nice! It was called "primitive" because there was no bathroom. The bath houses were close and clean though....

Having never stayed at a KOA campsite before, I wasn't sure what to expect. We had booked a deluxe cabin. I was beyond impressed with the cleanliness of the cabin. Fresh towels ready for us, shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower, clean refrigerator, the place was just clean. I felt like I was walking into a brand new cabin. The fire...

Beth worked her magic and got us a week and almost a half with 2 excellent sites. We had to evacuate SC beach campground suddenly with no desire to return home. KOA in Townsend is the best KOA we have ever visited. Clean, convenient, well thought out campground. Staff were friendly and helpful. Second site was directly next to stream....

Very nice campground. We had a spot by the river. Beautiful and relaxing. Close to Gatlinburg and Cade's Cove. Nice showers. Only problem was no 50 amp by the river. These are pictures taken from our campsite.

Good location for exploring the Great Smoky Mtn NP but this place is busy! Sites are pretty tight; they have a lot in a not huge park. Marilyn in the office was so helpful and informative; the rest of the staff...well, maybe just too busy. Main bath/showerhouse was very clean and well appointed but not close to about half of...
