We were in need of a restful and relaxing haven and the Smith house provided it. Our room, and the two others we saw, were all unique, lovely and very clean. The quiet evening on the front porch was a solace, and a visit with Jim, the owner, was a delightful perk. Will definitely return here the next time we...

We were in town for the Crosbyton Jubilee & my husband's high school reunion. We are so glad we stayed here instead of Lubbock. This B & B is so charming & so rich in the history of this farming community. The rooms were so charming, the bed super comfy. The front porch was a wonderful gathering place, not only...

We have stayed at the Smith House 5 times now. It's like being at home with your family. It is reasonably priced, and the breakfast in the mornings is wonderful. Wonderful coffee! The other travelers that stay there are friendly and there is always conversation between everyone while having breakfast. There are 2 small dachshunds that are the sweetest little...

We stayed a couple of nights and loved it. We seek out historic hotels in Texas, read up on all the past and it makes the stay even more enjoyable. Now this is NOT the Holiday Inn, so if you are looking for that type of stay, don't bother. Bed was comfortable, place was clean, breakfast was VERY GOOD, the...

We left Lubbock much too late and decided to stop when we saw a hotel in Crosbyton, but hoped out loud for a B&B. Low and behold, there was the Smith House. Built in the 1920s, it's a charming rooming house with a large dining room, TV & rec room, and a wonderful old porch. Although not as air-conditioned in...

It's been quite awhile since we stayed at The Smith House, but it was a nice experience. Of course, I love old houses, so I was happy just looking around. The food was good. The hosts were pleasant. It was a good value.

I booked a room here for two nights. First day of arrival, they had a late night party. Had I known about this in advance, I would never had stayed here. Way too loud. The room I was given was above the front porch, so every time the front door opened and closed, it rattled the walls. The bathroom was...

A 1920's rooming house. Under new management. Good selection of vintage rooms with and without bath. Quiet! Great hosts. A quite enjoyable stop when doing the Texas canyons tour.

“They recently opened up a suite on the ground floor that has 2 bedrooms, an area to cook and a TV! We do miss having a TV in the other rooms upstairs, but we have always survived!”

“Cheaper rooms do not have private bathrooms. The house does creak and moan, as an old house that size will. If you have a problem with noise, bring earplugs.”
