We spent 3 nights here in August staying in the lovely Roach room. What a find! Their attention to detail is very impressive. Fresh milk left outside the room early every morning for the first cuppa, fresh cakes every day, cold water left outside the room late at night and lovely toiletries and bed linen. And although I was a bit anxious to stay during the pandemic, it was spotless.

Plus the best hotel/B&B breakfast we've ever had. We've already booked to return in October.

Our recent sat at The Old Vicarage was absolutely incredible. Owners Jackie and Rob have created a beautiful 5-Star oasis in the heart of Snowdonia. You can feel their love of what they do in all the incredible personal touches that awaited us. We especially loved the daily fresh milk left outside our door in the morning, the incredible daily cakes in our room for afternoon tea, and chilled water left for us each night. The meals were delicious and were accommodating to meet our 11-year old's palate as well.

We can't wait to come and stay again. Thank you for everything, Jackie and Rob.

What a fantastic, lovely B&B! We had only booked for one night unfortunately-we would have loved to stay for longer! A spacious, spotless room with a well equipped bathroom-attention to detail was great…e.g a pillow menu! Delicious cake in room and fresh water/milk left outside room for night/morning. Kirsty was a fabulous host…so friendly and informative! The breakfast was superb! Best eggs Benedict I’ve EVER had…duck eggs were delicious! We honestly cannot praise this place enough and can’t wait to book for a longer stay! Thank you Kirsty and Gareth-you’re doing a terrific job!

In September,we stayed with Jackie and Rob for a much needed break.I was rather anxious about staying away from home given the current circumstances ,but was completed reassured by Jackie after she had explained the sanitisation and cleaning procedures undertaken to ensure guests safety whilst on the premises . For all the reasons given by previous guests we wholeheartedly agree that the Old Vicarage is an excellent place to stay ! We have visiting this area of Wales for a countless number of years ( it was my childhood home) staying in various hostelries ,but will now make Jackie and Roy’s home our base for future visits ( if we are lucky enough to find a vacancy ! ) .Thank you for all your facilities ,warmth and kindness . Good luck !

We selected The Old Vicarage for my birthday celebration, because of the fantastic guest reviews and excellent presentation on their website, and we were not disappointed!

Kirsty and Gareth are the very warmest of hosts and nothing is too much trouble, in their pursuit of guest satisfaction.

The house is beautiful and our lovely room was very quiet and well appointed, with a large comfortable bed and a huge bathroom, with both bath and walk in shower.

The many extra touches really do make this feel like a hotel stay, with an incredible abundance of resources and advice for local activities, (including services and activities provided directly by the B an B), and daily "specials" at Breakfast, in addition to the main menu options, all based on gorgeously tasty and perfectly prepared, local produce.

We would not hesitate to highly recommend this place for its location, accommodation and really top notch hosting, characterised by a clear emphasis on high quality, in all things.

Above all the authentic warmth of reception, the friendliness and the willingness of this young couple to do whatever was needed to enhance our stay will ensure that we will be back!

The Old Vicarage is truly deserving of every success and the highest of accolades.

We did a last minute booking and it was fantastic. The room and bathroom was spacious and the hosts Kirsty and Gareth were lovely. Breakfast is an AA Award winning breakfast. They offer potential lunches if needed. They put fresh milk outside your bedroom door in a morning, cold water to drink in an evening. There is so much information in your room or on their website to help arrange activities if you need. We will be booking to go again sometime and will book directly to get the best price.

We were looking on the internet for a place to stay near Machynlleth for bed and breakfast and the Old Vicarage was shown as the best on the list so we booked to stay there for a week and we can certainly agree with the rating as we had a lovely time there. Gareth and Kirsty are very welcoming and helpful and do all they can to make you comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of lovely choices and the cooking was of a very high standard. The room was very comfortable with a large bath and shower room and the Old Vicarage is in an attractive country location with plenty of car parking space. We look forward to staying there again when we come back to the area.

Superb B&B in every respect. We received a very warm welcome, our room was beautifully presented and very spacious and we enjoyed the very best breakfasts we think we have ever had in B&B’s in the UK. Kirsty runs her B&B with great attention to detail and we recommend it to all.

We had a lovely 2 night stay with Kirsty and Gareth. The house is stunning with great facilities, the room and en suite were huge and it was spotlessly clean. The house is tucked away in a beautiful quiet location with easy access to local areas including Machynlleth, Dolgellau and Aberdovey.
We also had a delicious breakfast both days the full English, Welsh rarebit and eggs Benedict were perfect

Kirsty made us feel very welcome as soon as we set foot in the premises and there was no looking back. We had a relaxing time during the 4 days we spent at the Old Vicarage. The surrounding landscape was fantastic and we found it difficult to concentrate on our driving. Therefore, plenty of stops and longer journeys just to admire the scenery. As a result we went off the beaten track many times. No regrets at all. The room was very comfortable (Chester room) and breakfast was great and unhurried with various 'specials' on a daily basis. Kirsty and Gareth were very attentive at all times and informative of Mid Wales to say the least. We have certainly made some lovely friends in Kirsty and Gareth and will visit again.
