I'm pretty mixed about this review. It's a beautiful place, well kept, staff and owners are very friendly. The rooms are beautiful little time capsules with a touch of modern. The grounds are impeccable. The bar is very quaint even equipped with a dance hall girl on the piano!!! But the mattress must be an antique too. Pillows were horrible,...

Wow, thanks for the wonderful review - loved all your comments and appreciate the note about the bed. And I'm surprised as that bed continuously gets unsolicited votes as most comfortable bed in the hotel. Next time, we'll try a different room. I'll definitely check on the pillows. Looking forward to your next visit.

I was very disappointed with the restaurant at the Woodbine and that is because I was expecting something quite nice from what I had read on this website. We were surprised that the special of the night had run out when we arrived at 7:00 p.m.! They clearly expect their regulars at 6:00 p.m. Then the brochetta that I had...

In more than 10 years, Madisonville has turned it little town into a darling place with a few antique shops, some good restaurants, a precious dress and gift shop and lovely hotel and restaurant The Woodbine. During a place packed with clients for lunch, we had; Great service, great management who came over and talked with us to tell us...

We fell in love with this quaint old house. We take our little fur baby with us whenever we can. They are very pet friendly. When we were unsure of how our baby would act leaving her in the room for the first night, we were allowed to bring her to dinner and breakfast with us. She sat quietly under...

I stayed here in the autumn of 2015, and came back this spring for more. Such a handy distance from our family reunion grounds and our home. The rooms are lovely -- not over-decorated, comfortable, quirky, and very welcoming. The place was built as a hotel in 1904, and offers privacy, quiet, and a very warm 'feel' overall. And the...

We have just returned from our 6th annual quilt retreat and have already booked our retreat for next year! The hotel is awesome and the food is outstanding. I have not eaten anything in the restaurant that I didn't love. A number of us made the short walk to the town square to do some shopping since it is only...

Stayed here for one night on our way to and from College Station. Very quaint old house. I love antiques and this house is full of them. Comfortable rooms, pretty grounds. The best thing was the food and hospitality.

Thanks Leslie, we appreciate your review and comments on the hotel. Glad you enjoyed our food. The house is full of antiques, had so many I had to buy a hotel to put them in. (now I don't antique anymore, don't want to get a bigger hotel!)

What a beautiful place! I just love this B&B. It's like stepping back in time. (of course with modern necessities) What a wonderful place just to sit and relax and regroup. The restaurant is really good! I don't think I have eaten anything there I didn't like. The owner exhibits true Texas hospitality. What a wonderful break from hotel chains....

We were finally in Madisonville at lunch time and that presented the opportunity to dine here. We weren't disappointed. It has the trappings of an expensive place to eat with white table clothes and such in a nicely preserved 111 year old building. Surprisingly the prices were quite reasonable and food and service was first class. We will certainly be...

We were there for an A&M football game. All the rooms in college station were outrageously priced. (Motel 6 for $200.00 per night). I found Woodbine and we were extremely surprised. Hospitality and comfort were great. Floors are a little creeky, but it is a 110 year old home. It is very quaint, and looks like it probably did back...

“Our group each have their favorite rooms. Ours favorite is room two. There is a king bed and a twin and that works for us. It is right off the upstairs parlor where we do our sewing and we try to get that each year. Room one is the corner room and is the largest. The room out on the front porch is also a favorite. These are my favorites, but are all the rooms have their own charm.”
