From the wonderful historic tour of the house at check-in, to the comfortable bedroom and coffee served directly to our room at wake-up, to a fabulous creative breakfast, our stay was idyllic. And, the cherry on top is the warm loving atmosphere created by two beautiful owners Ric and Peggy. There is no question that we will return again and...

From the time we steped out of the car we felt welcome in this beautiful home. The breakfasts were great. We even had special decorations and food for St. Patricks day. The conversation was great too. Felt like we were staying with relatives. I was glad they had a bedroom on the main floor. We could see the intercostal waterway...

My husband and I spent the weekend at The Stanley-Fisher House in February 2014. It was the most restful weekend we have ever experienced. The Stanleys are very hospitable couple and they made out stay very comfortable. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious . We have already made reservations for another weekend in the near future.

I first read the reviews of the Stanley-Fisher house here on TripAdvisor and was compelled to book a night during my recent trip to Matagorda. This home is gloriously historic, built in 1832, and such care and detail is taken to preserve its history. I traveled with a girlfriend, and when we walked in, we were graciously greeted by Peggy...
