Nestled in a serene residential area, Amarilia Hotel boasts a coveted location favored by guests for its easy beach access and nearby dining options. While the hotel's rooms draw polarized opinions, ranging from praise for their cleanliness and space to criticism for being outdated, the spotless condition of the property receives consistent commendation. Opinions on the hotel's atmosphere and amenities are mixed; some visitors relish the cozy lobby and scenic views, but others are underwhelmed. The staff's service quality varies, with reports of both commendable and disappointing encounters, and some guests feel the additional costs undermine the hotel's value proposition.

The staff are the best! You actually feel like you are at home and they do go out of their way to help when they can. The location is great - easy access into Athens or anywhere near local area - there are some really great restaurants along the promenade by the sea. Beds were comfy even though not big enough. Under the circumstances of Covid19 this hotel really are doing the best they can to keep everyone safe and people going anywhere at this time should be thankful for the effort put in to make the stay as comfortable and hospitable as they know. I can’t stress enough how at home we felt and it’s the staff that make any hotel no matter the ratings or stars.

Only constructive feedback would be:

The beds could have been bigger, and the decor could be updated. Downstairs is gorgeous but bedrooms are outdated. Could have done with an iron, a kettle with coffee/tea. The bathroom in our room 403 was fine but a little tight - especially if you are a well built guest..:) soundproofing could be a great investment especially when you can hear the other guests in their rooms....

It was great value for money, right next to clean beach area and very convenient transportation from the city, further to the riviera and a direct bus to the airport. Room was clean and very comfortable. 2 out of 5 days stay I had to take online courses from the room, and the desk was very comfortable, and pretty convenient to have the food delivered right at the lunch break. Breakfast was nothing special, however was available for a long breakfast window. The bar ofers were a bit too pricy and slow to service.

Pleasant staff accommodated my request for early arrival and were always helpful even when front desk was busy, which was most of the time.

My room on the 5th floor felt smaller in size than the description on the website (maybe they include outdoor space in the overall measurements). Small balcony with nice Sea View, overlooking an empty lot and pleasant church.

The room felt very outdated with old light fixtures, and bad oil paintings on the walls.
Bathroom was tiny but recently upgraded. No bathrobes but slippers offered, soap and shampoo from a dispenser and no body lotion.

Pool was always busy with. not enough lounge chairs.
In the elevator were signs informing guests about the hotel's "towel policy"....Do not bring pool towels to the beach or you risk being fined a penalty charge. Other option is to buy beach towels from the front desk. Not very hospitable for a hotel that classifies itself as 4 star.

Breakfast was adequate very busy but many choices of average quality food.

Some excellent tavernas in the area suggested by the staff.

Overall experience felt very basic, more like a 3 star hotel.

I really liked the hotel, modern and spacious rooms and common areas. The breakfast which was included in the price was great value for money, offered everything you need to start your day. Actually, on our last day we had a very early flight from Athens airport and had to check-out at 5 am so they offered us a packed breakfast to take with us which was a bonus! Staff were friendly too. Additionally, the location if you want to be close to Vouliagmeni seaside area is great, as you have everything at your doorstep. I would suggest you book here if you are travelling from spring-early autumn and would want beach holidays, otherwise, if you are after Athens city centre you are far. Just one remark because our room was facing the pool side of the hotel, it was quite noisy during the day when the pool area got busy. This was sorted and blocked out once you shut the windows and balcony door, but just bare in mind if you want to request that your room is facing the other way.

We started our trip to Athens with a two night stay here. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. They very helpful throughout our stay.
We had a room with a balcony and a sea view, it was a lovely modern room. The bathroom was smaller than we expected but was very clean and well appointed and it’s seems hotel bathrooms in Greece tend to be smaller.
Breakfast was a buffet with a reasonable choice of hot and cold items. Coffee was out of a machine, but nice and there was a good choice of teas. We also had a snack lunch in the bar area which was tasty and reasonably priced. The ground floor reception area is modern and tastefully decorated with some funky chairs.
You are close to the beach and some good fish restaurants, we recommend Garbi. We didn’t venture too far as we relaxed around the pool area for most of our time. Soft fluffy beach towels were provided and there was bar service too. The pool is a decent size but still a little chilly.
Overall we loved staying in this hotel and would return.

The Amarilia Hotel was the perfect place to stay before and after a cruise. We arranged before our visit for a taxi from the airport to the hotel, then asked for a taxi to the port, a taxi back to the hotel from the port and then back to the airport for our flight home. This advance planning with them made us appreciate the Amarilia Hotel staff even more than we already did. We didn't want to stay in the heart of Athens and wanted to be by the beach, which we did in Vouilagmeni. It was just about 30 mins from the airport and 30 mins from the Port of Piaeus, depending on traffic. Our room was a Superior Double Room, Sea View with balcony. The room was comfortable, had a small refrigerator and the balcony was nice to have. The hotel had a satisfying breakfast buffet, offering hot and cold items, pastries, fruits, juices and of course fresh coffee. Breakfast was a good start the day. We had drinks and a snack by the pool, while we waited for our room to be ready, when we returned after the cruise. Just down the street were two lovely restaurants and a beach. The beach had a section for the hotel guests. The cost for two lounges and an umberella was 30 euros for weekdays and 36 for the weekends. They had clean bathrooms and showers. The umbrella had lockboxes for valuables. There was a menu for food and drinks, the individual pizzas were very good. Also just down the street was a stop for the Hop on Hop off bus. The bus makes a stop at Lake Vouliagmeni (wish we had known that), then into Athens. There were many stops in the city, but do ask the driver when the bus will arrive for the return trip to the "Riviera & Beach". They don't come as often as the city hop on hop off buses and the last one was 5:30. We will definitely stay at the Amarilia Hotel on another trip to Athens.

We were a party of 65 guests from the UK staying for a wedding, including the grooms extended family and the wedding couple on the wedding night.
The hotel could not have been more helpful. They moved rooms around at the last minute to accommodate everyone and even gave us the use of their conference room for hair and makeup on the day.
Nothing was too much.
The service was always quick, cheerful enhanced by the fact that they seemed delighted to be hosting so many from the same group and for such a special occasion.
The special wedding party rate was extremely reasonable making it possible for more people to come.
The rooms were very clean and bright and the shared restaurant, bar swimming pool lounge areas spacious and easy to use.
The bathrooms are quite small - only room for one at a time- but we could have a bath as well as a shower.
Breakfast was kindly cleared away very slowly for late rising straggling party goers.
The beach was only a couple of minutes walk away. There are a number of very good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance with wonderful views and sunsets over the sea.
It was only 10 minutes to the wedding venue at The Island and just 30/40 minutes in a taxi to either the airport or the centre of Athens (traffic willing).
A big thank you to all the staff for making the stay stress free and fun.

The location is good: close to the beach and Athens is not too far away. There is a great restaurant nearby (Panorama) where we had dinner a couple of times. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the buffet breakfast is ok, but basic. There is also an outdoor swimming pool, where light meals and snacks can be ordered.

The room however was bit of a disappointment as regards size and finishing. It was really small. There is a desk but there is hardly any room to move the chair back far enough to allow one to sit comfortably. The bathroom is tiny, the toilet is pinched in between the bath tub and the washbasin. A person over average weight might have some trouble taking a seat... The temperature of the water in the shower was fluctuating significantly, which I think had to do with people in the adjoining rooms using their shower at the same time.

All in all, value for money is average at best and I think the rooms require an update before very long.

I travelled to Greece for a conference held at the Amarilia Hotel and from the moment I began setting up my room reservation until the moment I left the hotel my experience was phenomenal. From the managers to the front desk staff to the amazing dining room and bar staff. Every morning I was greeted with a smile and welcomed for breakfast and it wasn't long before the ladies remembered my name and that always brought a smile to my face. The chef is great as the food was delicious. I was there for 11 days and 10 nights and I went to breakfast every morning. It was the same stuff for the most part but it was great food and great service. Everything was super fresh and the fruit was amazing!

The front desk always called me by name and I never needed for anything. If I had any questions about anything, including how to open my new suitcase they were there to help. I was given great suggestions by the staff when I was looking for something to do when I had down time and I loved how the hotel was always able to find me a taxi and explain to the taxi driver where I was going.

I actually stayed in three separate rooms during my stay. My first room overlooked the pool but I was able to easily see a partial view of the water and the hills. I switched rooms to stay with my sister for one night and she had a view of the hills and neighborhood and you could still see the water when you went out onto the balcony. My last room was a panoramic superior room and it was SO worth staying the extra days just to have a full waterfront room. I actually extended my trip an extra night just to have an extra day with the view and the staff.

The Amarilia Hotel had a great conference space that we used for the conference as well as two areas to gather in addition to the lobby. The beach is across the street and a block over from the hotel which was great! It was not overly crowded either.

I cannot say enough about how excellent my experience was here. I am already booking my room for next year!!!

Nice rooms, the bathroom is relatively small but modern and well equipped.
(I love the size of the balcony)
The beach location is very near and has a gorgeous view of the gulf.
Good morning buffet has a variety of different vegetables, pastries, healthy food, and juices.
Hotel Staffs - friendly, always smiling, happy and enthusiastic, and just a pleasure to talk to them!

Good value for the money. I can recommend a stay there.

I am not sure they have parking space, but there was plenty of space around the streets of the hotel. Maybe you can contact them directly and ask about this though.

The best way is to take a taxi. They are waiting a lot when you get outside the arrivals , the distance is around 15-20’ and the cost is low around 20€

Dear Amercican25, the Hotel give you free towels for the Beach, I don't know if someone can rent you a chair at the beach closed to the Hotel, anyway these is a very nice private beach where you can go walking (10 minutes) and have all the facilities and amenities that you need, look for the famous Astir Beach. Enjoy. Best rergards
