We were greeted by Omar the hotel manager. He could not have been more helpful and spoke in excellent English. He immediately offered us an upgrade to the honeymoon suite, a fabulous room of immense proportions with interesting antique furniture and pictures, and a spacious bathroom with shower and bath.He explained about the parking , the town tourist info, reccomended... Although a challenge to access up narrow and winding cobbled streets, the hotel is magnificent and takes you back into history. Breakfast is lovely and served in historic dining room. Well located to visit castle and town square.

Trujillo is wonderful, hot as hell in the summer months with narrow streets and endless glorious churches. In the midst is this little gem of a hotel; eccentric and welcoming with a blissfully shaded pool and only 7 rooms. Take your pick - size varies, decor varies but each (and we've stayed in them all) is eclectic yet comfortable. Books... More

Hidden away, in the winding streets below the Church of Santa María Mayor in the beautiful medieval city of Trujillo, is this intriguing and exquisite family-owned hotel. This is a 16th-century palace where the rambling garden is heavy with the scent of citrus and where discreet birdsong accompanies the wooden-spoon clatter of the nesting storks. The Palacio Chaves is wonderfully... More

We love the location which is an old part of town, behind the church, and just a short stroll away from the main square. The owner and his wife provided warm hospitality and the breakfast was lovely and plentiful. The WiFi is good, though at the further corner in the room, the signals are very weak because of the old... More

We were having a wedding anniversary tour in July and also had booked a suite from Palacio Chaves hotel. I had also agreed beforehand that there would be a bottle of cava waiting for us when we arrive. The Service was excellent and smooth, the surroundings and the garden was lovely and the hotel itself was something from the past... More

This lovely hotel is quite small with only 7 bedrooms. The building is 16 th century but has good facilities, a lovely garden and a swimming pool. There are old books and prints everywhere and it feels like you are staying in a Homely National Trust House. There are very narrow streets in this old part of town and our... More

This hotel is small and a very atmospheric place to stay. Very old with nice gardens and good views from the terraces. Getting there in a car was difficult as we got lost and the roads are very narrow in places. Definitely a place for a Smart car. The hotel has parking, and while not entirely private, it is at... One of the nicer places we stayed at in Europe. Small place that was empty when we were thee so we had the whole place to ourselves. Great book collection and perfect to so it down on one of the many couches to read on a rainy day. Comes well recommended.
