Stayed here with a friend for 5 nights in January for a short skiing break. Great location to access major ski resorts resorts assuming you you have a car. Hotel is a 15 minute walk from centre of Bourg, very pleasant stroll in the evening and lots of nice restaurants to choose from. Hotel is only one star but very clean and very friendly welcome. We had family room giving us space - though no toilet in the room. We did have wash basin, bath/shower and bidet. Beds very comfortable and rooms warm. We opted for breakfast and while simple it was good value with lovely fresh baguette and croissants. The on-site restaurant is separately run - we had a very good meal here on our first night but decided to explore other options on the other evenings. In total there are about 11 rooms in the property - not overly busy in third week in January but I got impression that February was going to be very busy. No TV in rooms and don’t think we had a hair dryer though neither an issue for us. Would stay here again.…
I arrived in Bourg-Saint-Maurice by motorbike on my way from Zurich to Southern France. Looking for a one-night-stop I found this lovely Auberge, just a 10-15min walk from the centre, with lots of trees and plants around the house. Your bike can be parked safely right in front of the house. First of all: I advise you to book in advance as this place is very popular and I was really lucky to get the last available room for the night! :) I quickly realised why people like to stay here: A lovely, helpful and caring owner (she‘s fluent in French and English), nice and clean rooms with very comfortable beds, and good breakfast with fresh baguettes, croissants, butter, jelly, coffee as well as o-juice - you definitely won‘t leave hungry! There‘s plenty of restaurants in the centre and walking down there gives you the opportunity to take a look at the pretty village. Don‘t take your motorbike or car, it really isn’t necessary. I loved it! :)…
Becky and Rob were fantastic for my short stay whilst my wife was in hospital after a ski injury in Val D'sere. Great hosts, supportive, interested, helpful ... in fact you often didn't have to ask, Becky would assess a situation and provide help. Even as simple as taking me to the hospital on the first morning as it was very wet and I would have got soaked. They were generous in holding my room even if I didn't know where and when I would be there. Very kind. A small hotel that had a phone and bell on the front desk to call for attention that worked quickly and efficiently. The room was basic but clean and comfortable. The restaurant attached to the hotel was a real bonus too - value and quality.
This is a lovely hotel run by Becky and Rob! As most reviewers had mentioned, you get what you pay for in terms of facilities BUT the big plus points are their high standards of cleanliness and great hospitality! You would feel as though you are staying with friends and they are always around when you need advices or help!! My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and after the long day on the mountains, we will always be welcomed by a clean and tidy room! The hotel is a very short drive away from the funicular railway (big car park) where you could park your car at a minimal cost (€2 within 5hrs; €3 beyond). You could purchase the ski passes at the funicular railway station directly as well! Overall, we had a wonderful stay here and we will certainly stay with them again in future! (Photos: The beautiful mountain view we wake up to every morning! )…
What an amazing time we have had in La Petite Auberge. Becky and Rob were fantastic hosts with nothing too much trouble. Bit of a walk from train station/funicular/town but for the hospitality shown to us it was so worth it. (If you are boarding or skiing you can leave équipement at Polarie Star for €4 a day saves carrying them back each night). Would definitely recommend here to stay and so reasonable in costs. Thanks for a fab holiday
