We traveled to Benalmadena for the Christmas holidays . Stayed in the Benalmadena Palace for a week and had a fantastic time as always. We had a lovely check in and warm welcome from Mario at the reception desk ( a great guy who seems to have the ability to speak every language on earth ) , he gave us s lovely room on the 2nd floor , very clean and very modern and near the arcade which pleased my son . We then got a bottle of complimentary Cava to the room which was just the loveliest touch cos I had really had the longest day with travel delays , so that was very much appreciated. We upgraded to half board while we were there and the food was absolutely amazing. Every night there was a dish that I really enjoyed ( there was a pork cheek stew which was probably the nicest thing I ever tasted ) and every evening little touches like Parma ham and breadsticks on arrival or they give a rose to all the ladies , a great piano player every night also at the Buffet restaurant, hats off to the chef Juan because he really knows how to cook for all tastes . Great service in this restaurant too, Michael and Sergio and Marco really looked after us well , always getting us a lovely table near the piano and a lovely chilled glass of sweet wine , we really felt spoiled every night . Some new faces too in the restaurant and they were all very friendly especially the guy on the desk at the buffet , very smiley and polite .
There is also a snack bar on the ground floor where you can play chess or watch a match , very relaxed, quite cheap and very nice service from the lovely girl at the bar - Monica , she’s always in a good mood and is very nice with all the kids . The animation team were very good , my son Jack enjoyed a new type of darts game with Daniel the animation guy , he also enjoyed the Archery and a game called Slojen , there’s always something on for the kids and it’s a great for my son to make friends at these games . The night time entertainment is in Benys Bar on the 2 Nd floor , lovely bar staff , real gents and always very friendly and relaxed , Sergio and Benjamin and Michael create a lovely relaxed atmosphere up there and it’s open until 2 am . We really enjoyed the entertainment especially the Flamenco and the group called Destiny who put on a great show . The entertainment guy in Benys Bar is Alexandro and he is a really lovely character, very good with the kids and gets everyone up dancing and singing with the Karaoke ( I even sang a song myself) . The pools are lovely there , 2 outdoor and 1 indoor and lovely terraces for sunbathing around the pool . The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the beach which is just across the road and u have a supermarket also just around the corner for supplies . We really enjoyed our stay and didn’t want to leave but hoping to return early April . Great hotel ➕a Great price equals a Great holiday ! Very happy !

First time staying at this hotel and from the moment we drove up and arrived outside we knew we had picked the right place to stay.

We were greeted by the very friendly and helpful receptionist Yasmin. Our room was on the 3rd floor just along from reception and was absolutely perfect. Very big room with sofa bed, small tv and table. Large balcony with views of the sea and another big table with chairs and even somewhere to dry our clothes. The kitchenette was great too - fridge freezer micro and 2 ring hob. Lots of cutlery and crockery, glasses, kettle & mugs with some tea and coffee and the cute addition of washing liquid and sponges. The bathroom was also huge with bath bidet and large window. Mini toothbrushes were provided and the shower gel was topped up daily.

Bedroom big and very comfortable with large mirrored wardrobe and air con also in the room.

Our room was cleaned daily and with nice additions such as wee chocolates left in our bed and towels in shape of swans etc.

We used the spa facilities and the outside lounging area is nice too. The only thing that let the spa down was that the sauna and steam rooms don’t open until 12 noon which is a shame because we like to do our spa circuit first thing before breakfast.

We didn’t make use of the entertainment or the catering on offer at the hotel but from what we could see there is something for everyone at this hotel with a wide range of activities for children and adults, as well as a mini shop on site, vending machines, different shows on in the bar, oh and there is also a hairdresser but it’s only open from 10-1400 daily.

Outside parking can be hit or miss but you can park a 3 min walk away from the hotel which we did on a few occasions, however the hotel does offer underground parking for a daily fee.

Location of the hotel is good it’s not far to walk to the beach but I believe they actually offer a complimentary shuttle service, we had our car so didn’t use it.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in in Spain and really I highly recommend it to anyone. Definitely lives up to its 4 star status.

Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will definitely be back soon!

Booked very very last minute for a week staying at Benalmadena Palace and I can only sing their praises!

From the reservation team e-mailing me to offer a cancellation for the week. The reception staff (especially Mario) were such a pleasure and went out of their way to accommodate us, even when we had to unexpectabtly extend our stay by 1 night.

The hotel is clean, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Entertainment with Nela, Jose and Stefi was great fun! Ramon, Monica, Macarena, to name a few, at the bar were aamazing! The restaurant had strict mask rules (which we appreciated) and the variety of food was lovely and areas kept clean. The disco bar in the evening was always busy, but Benji kept the drinks coming! The complimentary hotel bus is handy for nipping down to the beach!

The outdoor pool was lovely and... cold (just as expected for Spain in April) ... but once you got in it was so relaxing. The indoor pool was a hit with my littlest who found the outdoor pool too cold and staff were present and kept the area clean and people safe. Cause, let's be honest the rules are there for a reason and that way everyone is able to relax and enjoy themselves.

My only feedback, is that the pool/snooker tables and arcade room games were constantly breaking down and keeping your money. Although reception gives you back your money lost to the machine, the kids really enjoyed playing on these when it was too hot outside or in the evening so we're disappointed by this.

This is our third time here, first since covid, and it just doesn't disappoint! Thank you to all 😊

I visited the benalmadena palace with my kids for 3 days. Here is what i think of the hotel:

Positive: really nice and warm indoor pool. Great kids club with lots of toys and kids shows. Good breakfast.

Negative: small and old room, the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation because it just looks old. Cleaning service was not good(dident get my room cleaned and barely got the cleaners to take the trash) no soap or shampoo provided in the room, shower and bathtub the "showerheads" in both dident work. Aircon dident work, it was 8 celsius outdoor at night but it was so unbeliavable hot in the room..(they said only heating works during vinter months..but there must have been something wrong with the whole system because it was like 25 in the bedroom and 8 outside..and i dident have any heating on in the room. The bed broke my back and the pillow broke my neck. The dinner buffet was boring and we got sick with massive diarrea from the buffet. And one more thing is that i dident get a babycot for my 1 year old to sleep in eventhough i recuested one and got a confirmation before arrival. I dident bother to go ask why, the baby just slept with me.
We ran out of diapers because of the diarrea and i went to the minimarked in the hotel to buy diapers to find that it dident open until 10.30 on a monday..thats late. The reason i give the hotel a 3 star and not 2 is because we really loved the indoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna and the kids club.

This hotel offers all what we need as a family. This is our fourth time staying here and my children cant wait to come back. The staff is very friendly and overall just amazing. Carlos , Mario and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The check-in process was very quick. We always book the 1 bed room suite and we feel very comfortable there. The room and bath are always kept clean, kitchen is very useful for us as a family to fix quick snacks for the kids. Room service is very good and keep the room very clean. The restaurant offers an excellent variety of food every day ( we go there for breakfast and for dinner). Freshly squeezed orange juice , fresh coffee, eggs , ham , fresh bread, cheese , you name it. Dinner is similar with a variety of soups and fresh salads and entrees. We love the entertainment team ( Sophie , Lorena , Virginia , we miss you guys). They are dedicated to keep the children safe and happy. We use the indoor heated pool on a daily basis and the kids love it. Location wise, the hotel is 5 min walking distance to the beach. Benalmadena is a lovely town and surrounded by many little Andalusian towns with their own charm.

We stayed for 5 nights during Feb half term. Enjoyed our stay

Pros:
Facilities are excellent. Spa, indoor pool, thermal beds, jacuzzi etc
Very good kids club and playground although because it was off season there weren’t any scheduled activity for the kids but they were happy with the indoor climbing frames and ball pit
The beds were very comfortable. Room spacious with good facilities for self catering
Staff friendly and helpful
Shuttle minibuses to the town centre although you need to book this

Cons:
Sofa bed not so comfortable, ok for a couple of days but not for longer stays
Location on a steep hill and far out from the main area
Food can be repetitive but tasty nonetheless and good quality

For the price we paid, the hotel represents good value for money but the location is quite far from the main area although shuttle is provided

Firstly I’d like to say the staff are great. Super helpful and attentive. However I was underwhelmed with the hotel in general. This isn’t a 4 star hotel, it should be classed as a 3 star. The hairdryer in our room looked like it was made in 1962 and didn’t even work. The phone was old and tatty with someones hair strands wrapped around the chord. The sofa bed is tatty and old and has a brown tinge to the colour. The floor was dusty in our room upon arrival but after this the cleaner made sure to mop it regularly. The kettle and fridge was not very clean either. They have attempted to upgrade the hotel but it’s still not up to date. I understand we are currently in a pandemic with COVID, however the food was very limited. No water on the table at dinner. Small hot plates for dinner with individual portions, however these plates were very hot and there were no trays to hand, so you find yourself either going up multiple times for one meal or alternatively pulling up small hot plates and running to your table before burning your fingers. The signage for the food was usually mixed up. The ice cream at dinner was always melted. Kids club was good.

We travelled as mum and son and so there were two in our party. We thought the hotel was excellent in terms of cleanliness and service. All the staff were friendly and dealt with issues straightaway. On arrival, there was an initial mix up with our room as we were given a studio room but had paid for a 1-bedroom apartment. However, reception were quick to rectify the issue. The hotel is located on a steep hill but, as other people have noted, you can avoid some of this by either going through the car park at Level 0 or, if going out before 8:00pm, use the pathway at the back of the hotel which brings you out by the supermarket. Our room had a balcony facing the road but we had no issues with road noise during our stay. In terms of location, it was near to a few bars but we often walked up in the direction of the marina which took about 10 - 15 minutes (the marina itself is a longer walk). There are plenty of bars to choose from but we particularly liked Mullarkey's Irish bar which had live music. There are also bus stops nearby if you fancy a trip to Fuengirola - we found the price of the bus to be really reasonable. Elsewhere, a taxi to the marina cost us 9 Euros.

Pros
1. We thought the evening entertainment was decent and, in particular, Jose was excellent and is definitely in the right job! We enjoyed the quiz and even won!
2. During our stay, we celebrated a birthday. On noticing a birthday card displayed in our room, the cleaner noted this and, to our surprise, we came back to an ice bucket with wine, two glasses, some sweets and a bowl of fruit. We thought this was a really nice touch!
3. We found the price of the beer to be reasonable at 3.5 Euros. There was also a happy hour at the bar although we didn't think this was publicised enough.
4. As stated above, there is a large supermarket nearby. This was handy particularly carrying 8 litres of water!
5. We thought the pool area was great. The pool itself was a decent size and was not too cold. There was also never a problem getting sunbeds and most beds had a parasol which we thought was a bonus. The staff also worked very well to keep the pool area clean and tidy.

Cons
1. The room we were moved to (room 212) was near to Benny's Bar which had loud music until 2:00am. We thought this was too late for entertainment and would have stopped us sleeping if it had not been for earplugs. Midnight would have been more acceptable given the proximity to some of the rooms.
2. We found the food to be really good in terms of selection, However, it was not always hot and there were only cold plates available meaning that the food that was hot cooled down quickly. We thought that the glass in front should have covered the food in a better way as this would have kept it hotter for longer.

Overall, as the title suggests, we would really recommend staying at this hotel. We would certainly go back here which, for us, is a good compliment for this hotel.

I stayed here for 5 nights with 3 friends in 2 rooms.

We were allocated loft studio rooms. The rooms were clean enough but the double bed is under the sloped roof with very little floor space to get to the wardrobes. Headroom is also limited here and it was not possible to stand up at the foot of the bed. The second bed was a single that's a drawer underneath the sofa. I asked for different rooms to get proper twin beds but was told the hotel was full.

The bathroom was well stocked and clean but the towels were yellow with age and the hot water took a long time to come through.

The safe was an extra 1.50 Euros per day and there was a 10 Euro deposit on each pool towel. There is a supermarket nearby and assuming reasonable mobility, the hill isn't much of an issue to get down to the beach and resort.

The food was generally good with a fair choice and the drinks were good quality. Service was efficient with some lovely, friendly staff. All-inclusive drinks ends at 11pm and food ends at breakfast on your last day. If you have a late flight you will need to think about buying food and drinks from the hotel or go somewhere else.

The pool area is clean with decent sun loungers.

I would use this hotel again as overall, it's quite good for the price.

Pros

Good evening entertainment for kids
Excellent vegetarian options at buffet
Staff work very hard accommodated us to 6th floor when disco noise was keeping little ones awake.

Cons
.
Trampoline was dangerous with broken springs loose.
Avoid 4th floor with little ones as noise from Disco will be on till 11:30pm
Damp smell in bathroom but we tolerated it as they already moved us once.

Overall for price it was decent but will probably not go to Benalmadina for Family trip again. The beach wasent great compared to parts of Portugal, Greece and other parts of Spain.
