Servatur Waikiki has garnered appreciation for its cleanliness, with well-kept rooms and public areas, although a few guests voiced concerns about cleaning frequency. Opinions on the rooms are split; some find them small and basic, while others acknowledge their cleanliness and modern touches. The hotel offers commendable amenities such as a pool and children's area, but the pool can feel overcrowded and the absence of in-room fridges is notable. The lively atmosphere and varied entertainment are a hit, despite some finding the evening acts repetitive. While the staff's friendliness stands out, the value for money is questioned, particularly regarding food and entertainment quality. However, the hotel's location is consistently praised for its convenience to local attractions.

Staff and food wonderful. We arrived after dinner service had finished but still were invited to the restaurant after dropping our cases in our room and enjoyed a seemingly full buffet. The room was clean and we were provided with dressing gowns (which were too hot) and slippers which we gladly wore.

The room was adequate and bright with sufficient storage and a free combination style lock. The only extra we had to pay for was the large towels for which there was a 10 euro charge and a 10 euro deposit.

No slight is meant on the animation team (who were very good) but we found the evening entertainment to be patchy and often lacking.

The food was good and varied and the wine was reasonable (no better). The two gala evening meals were superb and the staff have to be congratulated on their efforts.

We went for Christmas and the New Year and we found sun beds rather difficult to find when we wanted to settle down usually after lunch.

The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the front, there is a free bus provided by the hotel but we preferred to take the walk.

Overall we enjoyed our stay

We booked this hotel through Tui on a very last minute deal when the U.K. government said that we were able to fly to Spain and in very glad we did.
It was clear that all staff work extremely hard to ensure that guests have a great stay. Obviously in these current times, it is important to keep guests safe and minimise the risk of contacting COVID-19 and I think the hotel did this very well. Staff were witnessed cleaning hotel doors, tables and chairs were frequently disinfected, numerous amounts of hand sanitising stations and guest compliance of wearing masks all helped me feel safe whilst at the resort.
We were particularly impressed with the entertainment team who worked tirelessly to keep guests young and old entertained with archery, rifle shooting, water polo, mini disco, ping pong, bingo and other pool time games. My youngest son, Finley, really enjoyed taking part in these activities. It was also great that through these activities it helped him to make a new friend.
The food selection was fresh and varied with a range of fish, meat, cheeses and salad options plus fruit, yoghurt, ice cream and cakes for dessert. We certainly didn’t go hungry.
Though not the largest of rooms, they were clean and well maintained and it was nice having an outside balcony. With the door closed and air conditioning on, we didn’t hear any other noise and so slept very well.
We loved our week here and we are only sorry we couldn’t stay longer.

Ignore any bad reviews about this hotel. The hotel is clean, the rooms are basic but nice decor. The restaurant is well laid out so even when busy you not climbing over each other to serve yourself. There was plenty of variety food wise and even my fussy friend found something to eat at every sitting. The bar staff are friendly, beware they do not hold back on the servings when pouring alcohol. The animation team, with limited facilities were great entertainment in the evening. Amazing group of people. Staff on the reception are second to none, no request was too tedious for them from sorting out WiFi on phones to directions to beach. People have commented on the moving around pool with sun. We did move around to catch the sun but you have never seen so many sun beds in one place. There was never an issue with finding an empty bed. They were cleaned on a regular basis and the bar staff constantly clearing away glasses and plates that were left in boxes situated around the pool so only guests who were too lazy left them on beds. Also a lovely spa corner for guests who wanted to be away from the buzz around the pool. Hot tub and padded beds to relax on. I cannot find anything negative to say about this hotel and it’s staff only that the holiday ended. First time going away for winter sun. I think it is worth a visit again next year

I like reading the reviews and I can usually get a pretty good idea of what to expect from a hotel but I’m not sure about suneo Waikiki. The rooms are nice enough and the beds are comfy. There’s plenty of wardrobe space plus loads of hangers too which makes a change. Bathroom wise it has a hairdryer and useful magnified mirror but the shower settings are totally useless and the water just goes everywhere. On to the food/meals... the restaurant is in one of the round towers which means the layout is such that all the tables are grouped together in 4s or 6s with only a few 2s. It feels like a school dinner set up which I found odd and if I’m honest I didn’t like at all. The food is samey at lunch and dinner with little variety and the best meal is probably breakfast. I’m not a fussy eater but even I was fed up with the lack of choices. The pool bar snacks in the afternoon are ok (usual chips, burgers, hot dogs, pizza etc). Location wise it’s not close to the beach and you need to catch the bus into playa del Ingles or Maspalomas. The 5 towers hide the sun from the main pool area and lots of the sun beds are in the shade for long periods during the day. Not quite what you want if you’re looking to spend a week in the sun! To me the hotel has a strange vibe to it but I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly it is that I don’t like about the place. The staff are on the whole helpful and professional and the animation team do their best. I’m sorry that I can’t be more positive about this hotel. All that said, it is very busy and obviously popular with some, but I will definitely not be coming back here. On a positive note, the weather has been beautiful all week.

Dear Helen, ´ Thank you for taking the time to write down your comments regarding our facilities and your stay. It's very nice to hear you find the hotel rooms, the breakfast, the entertainment team and the staff great. We are sorry to hear that the beach wasnt as near as you though, we do have free bus from our hotel to get to Playa del Ingles which is just 1 kilometer far from the hotel and you could of got the schedule at the reception desk. It is a shame that the lunch and the thematics dinners 3 times a week did not quite meet your expectations. We do strive to ensure that all guests have an enjoyable stay and we do hope that we may have an opportunity in the future to welcome you back. Kind regards, Gloria Costa

We booked this as a last minute trip away for my partner and myself. The location was a close walk to the beach and there is a bus stop just down the road from the hotel so it was easy to travel around the island from here. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms and the facilities including the toilets and the swimming pool. Our room was cleaned everyday and we could really see the cleaner had done a good job. The room had everything we needed in it and everything was in good condition and working well, apart from the shower, which did not stay at a constant temperature at all which was annoying. The other hotel staff were brilliant, the waiters and waitresses were incredible helpful in the restaurant and kept the area clean, no sticky tables - phew. There was entertainment for both adults and children running throughout the day, everyday, and into the night, which ranged from bingo to exercise and water polo in the pool. While some may enjoy this, it was very loud and almost over the top as there was hardly a period of quiet in the day, this would often go onto 11pm at night, so not brilliant for families with young children.

The food let the place down. The menu itself was rather repetitive with many meals coming back day after day. The food quality was not great either, the bacon was cooked in a deep fat fryer and was wet and clumped together, the scrambled eggs tasted once like they came from an oil spill. Some days were a lot better than others and some things served were actually really nice, but this quality was not consistent. This is such a shame as everything else the hotel had to offer was at an impeccable standard.

We booked an 11 night holiday through Polkadot and Jet2 holidays as a package deal, as we hadn't travelled since Jan 2020.

Overall, we really can't complain.

Drinks are free pour for yourself.

Food is plentiful.

The staff are helpful and joyous.

The room is clean and the beds are good as we've managed to relax and get 11hrs sleep a night 😳

The entertainment is mixed varying from a saxophonist to a magician, but we retire early to chill in the air conditioned room.

During the day, the unused sunbeds are satisfied and it's mandatory to use facemasks around the hotel, but when seated, obviously not.

The place needs a bit of a tart up, but you know for approx £60 per person per night all inclusive, you genuinely get what you pay for.

All those complaining need to get to a five star hotel if they want fiver star drinks.

Hubby is fussy with food and he's managed to eat lots of variety every day.

Mainly Spanish at the hotel presently, which us Brits aren't used to, but covid is what it is.

Pleasant stay, can recommend if you want cheap and cheerful and won't whinge about no 5* service etc 🙄

We recently returned from a 2 week all inclusive stay at the Waikiki hotel. Overall we had a fantastic time. The earlier reviews got me worried as it said "not for English!" This is definitely not the case.
My husband, 11 year old and 9 year and i really had such a wonderful time here. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel, the pool toilets especially were always spotless and smelt beautiful, the cleaners are a credit to the hotel. Coleen was also incredible, she has so much energy and passion and i thoroughly enjoyed the daily water aerobics with her, as did my children. Marcus was also full of beans with his "bingo, bango, bongo" games. The bar staff were hit and miss, some were lovely and friendly, some looked so miserable like asking for a drink was so annoying for them. The milkshakes with cream were a hit for my children and nice to have rather than fizzy drinks all day.
We all really enjoyed the food. There was always plenty of choice every night, something for every taste. The salads were fresh and tasty and the meats, especially the lamb was cooked beautifully. Isabel a waitress works very hard mon- fri, and was very efficient at clearing our plates and saying a few english words to the kids which was nice. The puddings were delicious as was the breakfast. We've stayed in alot of buffet type hotels and this was one of the best. We ate at 645-7 most nights and the food was always hot and its nice to see them cooking it in front of you.

The negatives for us was:

The room size is too small for 4 people, only 2 chairs on the balcony.

No inflatables in the pool, yet the on site shops gladly sell them to you!! No balls in the pool, so no game of family catch which was shame as the pool was huge and we've been to much smaller pools where balls are allowed. Its a family hotel so balls and inflatables should be expected.

The on site shop opens at sporadic times too. On a few occasions we went to get an ice cream around 2pm for it to be shut!

The evening entertainment wasnt that great, random Spanish man on a guitar and mostly caters for Spanish guests. We went out every evening of the 2 weeks!

Tips:

The Yumbo centre is about a 10 min walk away and lots of cheap places to get a drink...2 euros for a pint and a half! Lots of shops here too.

Excursion shop out the hotel and left called Scotts excursion shop was great, lovely chap who we booked all our trips through.

Aqualand is a must!! We all the the best day here. Bus is about 1.90 for a return each and right outside hotel.

Transfer time from the airport is about 30 mins too so bonus.

Overall we would definitely return to this hotel on the future and Gran Canaria is just beautiful.

Thank you Waikiki ❤

On arriving at the hotel we where greeted by a great receptionist. He was accommodating and friendly. This continued throughout the holiday by all of the reception staff.
The Room was light, airy and spotless.
The Cleaning staff lovely.
The whole hotel is spotless and the staff work very hard to keep it that way.
The bar staff were the best I have ever encountered, always friendly and in the whole week we did not wait more than minutes to be served.
We went on a cruise last year and I can honestly say that this hotel gave the buffet restaurant on the cruise a run for its money. I am somewhat mystified at the negative comments regarding the food to be honest. I am always fussy but this year had no trouble enjoying the food every day ( particularly the Canary Potatoes and the Churros)
Although a little haphazard we could not help having a soft spot for the entertainments team. They were fun if not a little unorganized but after the show the disco fell a little flat. It would be so much better if the audience participation stuff could spill over into the last hour to encourage people to stay in the bar a little longer, lending to a better night-time experience which would help create a better galvanized hotel atmosphere. Although It is also up to the hotel residents to play their part and not make it difficult for the team.

The location is a little tired and many of the shops and bars were closed at this time of year but the courtessy bus offers rides to the local beach at Playa del Ingles and the more affluent Maspalomas beach which although exclusive is worth a visit if only for the lovely beach. At this time of year the nightlife outside the hotel is sketchy but the Jumbo centre which is a short walk has more life.

All in all a great place for a weeks winter sun.

Having stayed here previously we visited again after returning to Playa del ingles our favourite resort.
Painless check in but with limited information about any changes to the hotel due to covid. Located block C 8th floor, room was nice however the air conditioning units on the ground floor make the most horrendous noise every 10 mins or so, all day all night.... even with the door closed you can hear, this is especially worse on a night when trying to sleep. Also equally annoying if trying to enjoy some quiet time on the balcony or with the door open. Brought this up at reception where the old guy was not interested and said enjoy your holiday ?.

We chose the bed and breakfast option this time , remembering the food standards from last time and glad we did. Breakfast was adequate at best with soggy , greasy clumps of bacon and piles of stodgy overcooked pancakes. Bad food practices are sadly visible with new food placed on top of old this includes freshly cooked items placed on top of existing items. Same dishes with various items in. The waiting staff seemed sparse and tables not really cleaned well or regularly. Covid procedures not always upheld with some people wanting around without masks in restaurants and reception with few staff members challenging people. We spend pool time in the wellness area which is supposed to be adults only but often children in jacuzzi despite signs saying 18+

Cleaning was pretty decent in the room however towels were not always changed when left on floor as advised.

Reception staff not at least bit helpful when we asked.about keeping room on for late check out. Kept being told to come back and ask next day. One older chap quoter 60 euro for 4 hour extension. No information about courtesy room had to ask a visiting rep.

Booked room for 5pm still waiting at 5.30 reception chap shrugged shoulders and said no key. Only after complaining and waiting 15 mins more was i sent to block d to find room dirty unlocked and someone in it.

Never asked out our stay on check out didn't see a tui rep throughout the entire stay until last day.

For a budget stay it was adequate but there are better standard hotels on same road with a more caring approach to customer experience.

We love gran canaria and playa del ingles, sadly the hotel did not meet upto the warmth the island has to offer.

Booked for ten days over Christmas and New Year. We arrived late to the hotel after 10pm and the staff laid on food for us in the restaurant which was very thoughtful of them. During our stay it was my partners birthday and the staff placed a bottle of fizz and a nice note and card in the room which again showed their personal touch. This was our third stay at Waikiki over the last 10 years and the hotel has had a change of ownership and a referí which has updated the rooms and bathrooms which is nice. Our room did not get any sun unfortunately due to its position facing north east overlooking the children’s pool but not being ones to spend much time in the room this didn’t bother us too much. The pool area has had many sun lounger areas added making it easier to find a sun lounger than on our previous visits. The pool is large and clean. The pool bar is good with self service pumps for larger, wine, coffee, juice and soft fizzy drinks. Any spirits and cocktails are made by the nice bar staff. My only complaint about this area and the pool area is smoking. There is a small no smoking area tucked away in a shady corner next to the bar. If you’re a non or ex smoker you feel as if you’re shoved out of the way if you don’t wish to be enveloped in a cloud of smoke. My suggestion for the hotel manager would be to make the small area the smoking area and ban smoking from the poolside and main outdoor bar/stage areas for the comfort of guests. The restaurant gets busy at key times but if you go a little early or late then there are plenty of seats available and a lot less queues. The food is plentiful and a good standard. Don’t expect top quality but the varied selection more than makes up for it. The hotel is located a little out the way at the northern edge of the resort but it is only a ten minute walk to the Yumbo centrum and there is a shuttle bus to the beaches. The only reason I didn’t give the hotel 5 stars is due to smoking being allowed everywhere and the non smoking area being small and tucked out the way when this should be the other way around.

Not in the standard rooms. You can either rent a fridge, or upgrade to a Superior room (about £50 a week), which then includes a Fridge, Tea/Coffee making facilities, slippers, bath robes and reclining chairs on the balcony.
