Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What an amazing day my Mom and me have had at this beautiful place!! We were made so welcome, had an amazing massage and were superbly looked after by the very lovely Margret and Jaylin plus the food was amazing! A fantastic tour around the Hall which was just breathtaking! If you can please go for a visit. Everyone is so lovely and the History and the place itself is a must see! Thank you again Margret !

We had our daughter’s wedding here on 6 April 2024. What an amazing weekend. The staff were fantastic. Nothing was too much for them. The food second to none. 180 guests. Most of them from the Netherlands. Accommodation top class. Nothing we could say against them. I would highly recommend this venue as a wedding or special occasion. Superb.

Quite frankly one of the best hotels in the country. As someone who spends half his life travelling and staying at hotels, you really begin to separate the great from the good and well, the rest aren’t worth commenting on. There are many luxury hotels and country house hotels that boast 4 stars, but few really deliver, even less deliver 5 star luxury. Rushton Hall has the lot, however – from start to finish the place met and exceeded expectations, from the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the excellent afternoon tea, incredible after hours room service (genuinely, the ingredients quality alone was something to behold), to the high finish in all the rooms. So often you find rooms that look great on first inspection, but tired and worn when you look closer (think broken mis-aligned plug sockets, lights not working, etc etc). At Rushton Hall you will find none of that – the standard is truly first class across the board. Whether travelling for work, for leisure or both, this place will have you covered! I can’t wait to come back and spend longer next time – especially as I would love to spend some time in the gorgeous spa. And to the AA, you need to come back and re-inspect, how you haven’t granted 5 stars is truly beyond me!

The most incredible venue! We got married here recently and it was faultless. All of the staff we came across were lovely and Jessica, our wedding planner, was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Driving through the entrance gates takes your breath away as the grounds and building are absolutely stunning. The Orangery, for any event, really does have that “wow” factor. The day was seamless from start to finish and our guests have all commented that it was the best wedding food they have ever had. Even the evening food which for a lot of weddings I have been to is an afterthought, was delicious! We opted for the American Grill and the burgers were top quality. Bedrooms are all stunning and imaculatly clean and the beds are so comfy! With everything going on we didn’t get the opportunity to use the spa but we are planning to return as this place now holds a very special place in our hearts. Do not second guess your decision here if you are looking for a wedding venue. This is it.

Don’t bother booking as they cancel with a rubbish excuse saying system changed, more like they could sell at a higher price. Absolutely disgusting. Booked 2 November 2023 with a couple of confirmation calls around that time to book the Spa and overnight stay. Today 1 month before we were due to stay they ring to say we can’t stay as they were changing booking system and noticed fully booked. Strange that and more like sold to others at higher cost.

Had a lovely afternoon tea, beautiful place, very comfortable, big roaring log fire. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, couldn’t fault anything. We were given a rose as it was Mother’s Day, such a nice gesture. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful day at the spa; it was clean, well maintained and ample seats/beds to relax in. It was quite busy when I checked in and the receptionist missed little bits of information that I had to guess based on other spa day experiences. A light lunch was included and it was light (small) indeed. I had a full body massage and a facial and received the full time for both. The sauna and steam rooms are small, but as the spa wasn’t busy this was okay. I must note that I went on a weekday.

This hotel is nice if you’re 60+. I know it’s a very old building and has a lot of history, but it is so dated, asoon as you walk in it screams museum. Check in is 3pm, and you can use the spa area from this time, the spa “bar” closes at 4 pm so by the time you’ve checked in got changed and got down the the spa there isn’t anywhere to get a drink other than water. The spa is clean and ok, the sauna is only really big enough for one couple, same as the steam room. After an hour it’s boring, and after 4.30 children are aloud into the spa area and pool, so that puts a bit of a downer on a night away without our own kids. We booked a table at the brasserie 1553, before we were taken to the table we sat in the bar area which was so quiet even with other people drinking in there we felt rude just to talk, the drinks took ages to come and when they did the cocktail was one sip and it was gone (£13). We went through to the dining area, looking forward to it as we had studied the menus in the bedroom and knew what we were having, but the menu was completely different also with no prices atall on the Menu but the food was good, We asked for a bottle of water for the table which never came. Again the place had absolutely no atmosphere as everyone was either too snooty tooty to raise a voice or scared too! The room was lovely though no complaints about the room bar from it being too hot but I don’t mind that, oh and you can get room service but there’s a £10 charge per tray that’s used to carry your drinks or food to the bedroom so 4 drinks cost altogether £30!! All in all I don’t think we would stay here again, although our money is as good as anyone else’s there, we definitely felt out of place being a normal working class couple.
