If you are looking for a fancy, 5 star hotel, this is not it. This hotel is a piece of history. The rooms are clean but dated. The presidential suite has been used by more than 1 US President. There have also been many that say that it is haunted so there is an added suspense to see if you...

We attended quite a unique event at the Luther Hotel last week. They has TWO book signings, a hand-made crocheted doll sale, and picking and grinning with an excellent singing duo on the front porch. Two nights of fun and entertainment along with rocking and talking on the porch by the bay. There's no place like the Luther Hotel anywhere...

Hotel is an old landmark for this town. Built in 1903 and at this time needs a major facelift, inside & out! Breakfast area was comfy with good coffee, cereal and toast. The owner/manager made the stay pleasant. Very nice fishing pier and waterfront area is just across the street.

If you like antiques, old furniture, something extremely cool that was built 116 years ago then you'll love this place. It's like stepping out of a time machine and living in the past, it's not fancy with all kinds of new fixtures, it's much cooler than that. Take a trip into history.

An old wooden structure in need of repair, charming in spite of if because of its lack of slickness and pretension. Stay in the nautical room, the magnolia room or the penthouse, feast your eyes on the old photographs, the old fixtures and the palms and oaks that have endured many hurricanes....

We booked a room at the Luther over the telephone. We managed to arrive early enough to look over the hotel in time to cancel our reservation. My husband and I were doing a leisurely weekend car trip and did not NEED to stay in Palacios. I don't mind old buildings, but this one is very shabby. I can understand...

I enjoyed my stay at the Luther Hotel. It reminded me of living in West Texas where people are not in a hurry and are interested in conversation. The porch and rocking chairs are the main draw. I enjoyed watching pelicans and feeling the cool breeze off the water. The beds are very comfortable and rooms well air conditioned. Some...

Such a lovely place to stay! Quiet and homey! Jack is lovely and so sweet. He stops and has conversations with guest and doesn't just take your money and walk away. The hotel itself is like taking a step back in time. The weather was not so good so we spent a lot of time on the porch watching the...

We stayed at the Luther Hotel back in 2009 and it was undergoing renovations. Unfortunately, not much has been done in the past seven years. Although the hotel was once a luxurious and grand place, it has seen better days. Still, we like to stay there because it is one of those places that will be gone forever. The history...
