After reading other reviews I decided to give a review of this specific unit 212 on the second floor of La Internacional which was booked on a different site. During January, rates are lower than summer rates for units all over South Padre Island. Unit...More
The La Internacional is an older place but well cared for. The best feature is its easy beach access and the gulf view. We stayed for five nights and were not disappointed. Our condo said it sleeps six with a pull out, and it did,...More
The good news - it is on the beach. Beautiful view out of the window. The bad news - everything else. Dismal, dark hallway leading to a battered door of room 206 (see pictures). Used soap left in the bathroom. Dirty towels in the shower...More
We spent one night at condo 206. It was very nice. Small for the six of us, but it worked. It is right on the beach. They are doing a lot of updating to the building. Very friendly people around the pool area we met.We walked...More
Great room for the price. Not the best view but nice room, very clean and up to date. The person we rented from was very helpful and very informational. Love that the beach was just a few feet away. We will definitely go back and...More

I realize that this is an older post but the question is a good one. The building is curved. Some rooms have perfect views of the gulf but many do not. I did not look at unit numbers. I know that the south side of the building sits a few feet from a building on its south side with very limited views of the water. The North east side sits facing Wanna Wanna hotel parking lot which can be lively because they have an outside bar. The northwest side faces the setting sun which is difficult to see because it is blocked by other buildings and a great view of the pool. I recommend calling the facility directly. They were professional when I called them for info. When I stayed in January 2017, this was more like an Airbnb instead of a hotel. I did not get any services at all. I booked through Airbnb so I had reasonable expectations. I am unsure which units Trip Advisor offers. The south side of the building itself is directly on the beach. Guests can walk out the back ramp to see spectacular Gulf of Mexico sunrises. I hope this review helps other travelers with the same question. My room had a view of the Gulf if I leaned to the right to look around the curve.

"Some of the rooms seemed updated from the outside. 206 was a mess"
