With choices limited, we made a good choice by staying here. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and complete. Towels and sheets were clean and fresh. Breakfast was excellent. Quiet room.
The north door opened with the key from outside, but would not release when using the button from inside. This means in an emergency, all occupants must exit through one door. This is not acceptable under any safety standard anywhere.

No, we traveled old Route 66 from Chicago to LA in April/May. There isn't much in way of lodging between Amarillo and Tucumcari, so we stayed at the Days Inn in Vega on a Saturday night, went to church the next morning in Adrian and planned to eat lunch at the Midpoint Cafe, but it was closed. Had to go all the way to the New Mexico Welcome Station and picnicked there. The Days Inn was nice enough, nothing special, would stay there again.
