That's a lovely and quiet campground with very good showers. There's even wifi! It's a 8 minute drive to the town of Escalante. We enjoyed our stay very much. We saw people fishing, the night sky is amazing.

We recently spent 4 nights in Tropic, Utah. We spent two days hiking in Bryce National Park. We then explored in this direction and found this park. We Loved the 'Trail of the Sleeping Rainbows". This is a spur off the main trail. Very worth it. Lots of beautiful petrified wood. It can be very hot so take water! This...

Loved staying at this camp ground, the amenities (showers and bathrooms) were nice and clean. Loved the trail around the mesa above the grounds. The lady running the grounds was very nice and seemed to have everything running in order. We didn't get a chance to play in the reservoir but seemed to have some great rentals for fun available.

We scored a walk in site at this little known campground near all the natural beauty Escalante has to offer. Delicious drinking water, free showers, free wifi, a dish washing station and nice bathrooms for 20$ a night. perfect.

Hiking trail is two-part, with second part started at midpoint of first loop trail. At least that's according to the leaflet that the ranger handed us when we paid our $8 entry fee. Problem is that once you are on the trail there are no markers to let you know your progress. At 3pm it was super hot (as ranger...

What a gem! Decided to stay longer as the scenery, lake, and very friendly staff were awesome. Rates are very reasonable. The normal $8.00 day rate is cut in half for anyone taking a short stop/break. The 1 1/2 mile moderate hike has lots of beautiful petrified wood logs, plus the scenery is great. Small, 22 sites campground is gorgeous....

Wonderful start park campground just outside Escalante. Nice sites, wonderful restrooms/ showers (free), ability to reserve sites, friendly staff, well-spaced sites. Good choice for camping in this area.

We camped here 3 nights, two of us in a trailer; one person in a tent. The campground is on the eastern edge of a pretty lake, with mountains/hills on the other side of the campground. There's a couple mile loop hike that leaves the campground and climbs up to an area with an enormous quantity of petrified wood and...

My husband and I stopped at the Petrified Forest State Park while driving through the Scenic Byway. Upon entrance to the park, we did inform the staff person that our intentions were to just stop and have lunch but we were required to pay the entrance fee. She was very friendly and explained some of the different hikes that we...

On arrival we were again met by the dreaded "FULL" sign but we persisted on and once again lady luck smiled on us as there was in fact one site left. It was a very small site, but it was sheltered (handy because it did rain). The bathroom facilities were among the best we came across over 5 weeks and...
