Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Most important thing to note for folks who have not stayed here before is that the quality/conditions of the units can vary from "so-so" to "excellent". We've had both and aren't sure we're ready to roll the dice again in the future. While I was there, one guest was at the front desk speaking to the manager and very angry about the poor condition of the unit they had just checked into, felt he'd been misled particularly for how much they were being charged. The location and staff are terrific, just need to be ready to roll the dice on the quality of rental unit you get.

We had an amazing stay at Sundial Lodge, remembering working in the area about 20 years ago and being our dream to stay in a brand new hotel back in the days. The vibrant atmosphere and the friendly staff made our stay memorable. Thank you!

My wife and I were booked for a stay here last weekend. On the day we were to fly there, my wife woke up with a fever and tested positive for Covid. While our flights, rental car, and lift tickets were all refunded promptly, this hotel (booked through booking.com), after requesting proof of covid test and doctor's note, would only refund 11% of the booking. It was a huge disappointment not to come to Park City, but we did the right thing by not exposing other travelers and the Sundial lodge's guests and staff to Covid. Having $2000 not refunded when we were doing the right thing added insult to injury. If we had canceled for our convenience or even some other circumstance other than preventing further infection I would understand, but I am disgusted that they would not provide a refund.

The master bed in room 511 sank to the middle of the bed! My wife and I practically had to constantly sleep on each other. I’m not exaggerating! Went to front desk and was told sorry but each room is individually own nothing we can do! Booked thru Park city (Vail resorts)! Valet lost our rental skis! I hope they get returned and we don’t get charged! Over 9 k for 5 nights ! Getting to pricey!

Great customer service. Front desk agent Corrie(Sorry for spelling) was great and attentive to all our questions and needs. Would highly recommend. Plan to book future vacations again. Great location for ski in and out. Middle of all the action near the gondola to take you to top of mountain.

Best location on canyon village. Nice spacious condo and ski lounge. Definitely our choice for future trips. AC too loud. We stayed at the Silverado Lodge last year which was very nice and well equipped, but the proximity of the sundial lodge to all what canyon village has to offer is its main attraction. The ski valet is perfect too. Not having to walk with ski shoes carrying skis is really convenient.

Aside from location, the Sundial Lodge was a big disappointment (so much so that this is the first review I've written in years). Our room -- from the beat up ceiling, to the old furniture, to the miniature closet and the cheap, worn bedding -- was not commensurate with the $600/night price tag. The king bed didn't have a real comforter on it (just some kind of thick sheet) and the kids' pull-out sofa bed came with a flimsy flannel blanket that appeared to be from the 90's. The front desk service also was lacking (but the ski check guy and maintenance man were cool). We asked for but received no help with reservations at nearby restaurants and were given a late checkout several days before leaving, only to have it revoked the morning of. Honestly, it seems like they know they have people captive because of the ski-in-ski-out location and prefer not to expend additional resources to properly appoint the rooms and provide a more positive customer experience.

I booked these rooms through EpicPass and arrived at 6:30 pm. The rooms are not cleaned at check in; we notified house keeping that room was not clean on check in and house keeping did not arrive. After 3 hours, still no response from house keeping and we had to clean part of the room ourselves.

We went up to Park City to get out of the heat of the Valley with another family. One family of three ended up in one building and mine in another. We requested we be in the same building at least. We arrived earlier than the rest of our family, got unpacked, settled and later found out they were in another building. The air conditioning did not work in either of our rooms in separate buildings. It was miserable at night. We could of been cooler in my own home. Needless to say no one slept in two nights. In addition I have never stayed in a place with no fan in the bathrooms. The room would get extremely humid after three people showering along with not being able to cool the room. The first morning, while waiting in the Lobby one of the employees behind the front desk loudly said, quote. THIS IS FKING B.S!!! as a response to another employee she was talking to. My 8 year old Grandson along with my husband and I heard this loud and clear. I was so mad and disgusted. The two positive things I can say is the grounds were beautiful. The kids enjoyed the pool. There was plenty of dining choices within walking distance.
