By far, the best feature about this hotel is the location to the mountain. Pretty much everything else fell below expectations. The building and the rooms are very old, and the furnishings also appeared to be from the 1950's. I instantly felt like I was in my grandmother's old house. The walls are extremely thin, and while I don't like...

My son and I stayed at Stones on 3/8/2014 for one night, prior to skiing at Stratton. You couldn't ask for a better location. The staff was very friendly. The motel is old, but it fairly good condition. Don't expect good wi-fi. We really couldn't get any in room 13 (yikes!). But the room was clean and the bed comfortable....

Oh dear, too many complaints! To start with our door looked as if it had just been kicked in and the lock hastily repaired. One of the duvet's had mildew on it and none of the sheets fitted the beds properly. The walls are paper thin so you can hear every cough, sneeze and late night phone call from the next...

Not sure how I missed all the other poor reviews. Mine will join them. The attractive owner you see in the website: never saw her, not Friday night, not Saturday morning. Yana (as well as Daniel and Vincent), this is ski season. Spend some time at your inn, keep the place up, serve your clients, your paying customers. The room:...

There are a few things a hotel room must have to be considered average in my opinion. First, it must me neat and tidy. This should include nice paint and appropriate accompaniments. This room lacked all. It looked like someone had slapped a coat of cheap (yellow) paint on with a roller. They didn't even take the time to cut...

We currently have a reservation (or so I thought) for THIS Presidents' weekend Feb. 14, 2014 through Feb. 17, 2014 and NO ONE HAS ANSWERED THE PHONE to confirm my reservation I made 2 months ago??? I've literally called dozens of times and left voice-mails AND I've sent several e-mails to confirm my reservation for DAYS and have not heard...

Great location but the room had NO hot water, a leaking hole in the bathroom ceiling which kept us awake all night but the extremely uncomfortable king bed helped keep us awake all night. The bed was broken and was "fixed" with wood pieces. We stayed in the onyx room and were very excited as it had a fireplace, king...

I booked a room at this hotel a month and a half ago for this upcoming weekend and received an email today stating that due to an inconvenience, my reservation has been cancelled and they cannot book me in another room. There was no explanation of why and I have not received the refund of the deposit back yet. Unacceptable...

Things sure did go down hill considering I gave it 5 stars last time we stayed. When we arrived at 9:00 pm the room was below 50 degrees. The heat was broken and the portable heater was off. There was a fireplace that I had to carry the wood up for and keep going all night. You would think for...

I strongly caution anyone who is looking for hospitality to stay away from this lodge. We made reservations online, showed up at the hotel at 7:00pm to find 3 keys on the front desk with names of people staying there. So the hostess had disappeared despite the sign saying they are there until 10PM. We went into the bar and...
