My boyfriend and I stayed here for an overnight birthday getaway. The inn itself is absolutely beautiful, with attention to every detail from the guest rooms to the library to the dining room. Our room was immaculately clean, with the most comfortable bed, an amazing jetted tub, and a pass-through fireplace from the living room to the bedroom... giving it...

Perfect bed. I even changed our mattress pad to one like we slept on at the Dorset Inn when we got home. The breakfast was outstanding.. It was a beautiful Inn, well maintained. I still picture the fire in the fireplace in one of the sitting rooms. We had a package deal that included the dinner with many choices. Outstanding...

My husband and I had just been on a long, exhausting trip, when we arrived at the Dorset Inn. We were shown to our room, which turned out to be an upgrade to a suite. We were delighted! We had expected a room with a bed and a bath. We walked into a living room with a nice fireplace, a...

Thank you very much for your kind review. We see it happen a lot: our guests arrive stressed out from a long trip or difficult drive, and within a few hours they are totally relaxed and almost seem like different people! It is everyone's goal here to make each and every guest feel as if they've come home or are...

My husband and I previously stayed at the Barrow House, which we enjoyed, and decided we would come back and stay at the Dorset Inn. Our experience was very pleasant -- from the welcome to the checkout. I especially enjoyed the library and the big living room area with a cosy fire. There are endless little towns and villages to...

The republic was very young indeed when the Dorset Inn opened its doors in 1796. In fact, my home state of Vermont had only recently had ideas of becoming a sovereign nation before it became the 14th state of the new union ... the first state admitted after the original thirteen colonies. The Dorset Inn and the rest of the...

Established in 1796, The Dorset Inn purports to be the oldest continuously operated inn in the state of Vermont: It has aged exceptionally well. This was my fourth stay at the inn, which already tells you a good deal. We typically visit Columbus Day weekend, which often coincides with the peak of the Fall foliage season, when the Green Mountains...

It's hard to imagine anyone not having a very good experience at this accomplished inn and here are some hints to ensure that your stay is great. First, if you are a light sleeper, book a room on the top floor overlooking the garden which will isolate you from noisy guests above you in a building built long before modern...

This is our second visit to the inn. Everyone here is very friendly and food is fantastic. Breakfast is included for guests. So far we have only stayed in the Kent suite which is featured on the website. It's a great room. Very cozy in the winter with the built in fireplace. It's very easy to get to town where...

The room was outstanding; the dinners were top notch and the staff were very attentive and just could not do enough for you. We have stayed here several times in the past and always...

Sorry you arrived at the inn after surgery, but so glad you enjoyed the upgrade to a first floor suite. We have tried our best to make all guests feel like they're visiting a friend's home. One of our best amenities if the breakfast, of course! Our culinary team goes out of their way to make certain that every meal...
