A charming inn with gracious hosts. Setting is quite rural and a short drive to Woodstock. Be sure to dine there as the food is top notch. The inn is quite old which is what we were looking for. We visited in the fall just after the leaves peaked, but rural Vermont is worth the trip anytime.

Thank you for your review. We're happy that you found us. A tip is Fall Foliage peak is typically around Columbus Day weekend in Southern Vermont. Sometimes it comes earlier, sometime later, but historically, it seems to be prime during that holiday weekend. We also agree that rural Vermont is beautiful any time of year. It's like stepping back in...

We spent one evening at the Inn during a fall trip to New England. The Inn was in a lovely setting in rural Vermont, very comfortable and relaxing. We had a nice, clean room with all the amenities and a very comfortable bed!! The Innkeeper/Owners were very helpful and accommodating. Their recommendation of the Downtown Grocery Restaurant (excellent meal) in...

For my parents 50th anniversary my sister and I took them on a northeast fall trip. We visited Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. After a flight from Atlanta, We drove from Boston to the Inn at Weathersfield. Driving down the tree lined drive, it was truly a picture from a Vermont magazine. The entire property is gorgeous. Beautiful Mums and...

We stay frequently with friends from SF who own a country house in Cavendish. Our first dinner at IW was a lovely surprise. Didn't see the rooms, but the dining room was very comfortable with a rustic, country feel. Service right from the start was impressive. A small but well thought out menu was accompanied by a very sound wine...

We spent a wonderful evening at the inn, with lodging in the beautiful Lincoln room in the older section of the facility. The owner/ managers were exceptionally attentive to our needs and provided interesting additional information on the inn and its history and services. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and beautifully presented, using provisions from their own garden nearby....

Small but comfortable rooms with old style furnishings. Creaking floors was a challenge to negotiate at times without waking my partner but thats what to expect in an old manor house. The common sitting areas are again small & rustic but warm & comfortable. Its all about the dining here where the restaurant seating spreads throughout the building from where...

Thank you for your kind words. Timing the leaves turning is a tricky thing. Typically, it happens anywhere from the last weekend of September to mid October, with "prime" falling on Columbus Day weekend.
