Innkeepers are exceptionally friendly and attend to every detail. Stayed two nights over Valentines Weekend 2016 in Monroe Room. Small but cozy bathroom, lovely decorating. Delicious breakfasts both mornings, great coffee, great location and free parking! House is in good shape looks good for being nearly 200 years old. Wine and cheese hour every evening, cookies and milk after dinner...

This B and B is located right on Main Street convenient to many great restaurants and the UVA campus. There can be some traffic noise, but, you are downtown. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful. Our ground floor room faced the back courtyard and was very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. Will definitely return again.

I have been coming to Charlottesville regularly since 1962 and am a graduate of Mr. Jefferson's University. My wife and I were visiting our son and his family, and truly looked forward to staying for the first time at the Dinsmore House. I cannot properly relate our disappointment. The building appears to be held together with paint and a prayer....

Just a block from the beautiful campus of the University of Virginia, and a couple more blocks to the 'Lawn' and 'Rotunda' of Thomas Jefferson's design. Easy walk to bars and eateries just across from the campus. Good sports bar for Sunday NFL with plenty of screens on all the games. The buildings will be 200 years old sometime this...

This review is much overdue, but I wanted to ensure I had commented on how much my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Dinsmore House. We stayed here on our Honeymoon and on arrival we were upgraded to a gorgeous room with a huge four poster bed - one of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in....

This is a beautiful historic B & B in a convenient location. Our room (Dinsmore Room) was spacious, high ceilings, large and comfortable amenities. The innkeepers were hospitable, friendly and courteous. Breakfast is great, so are those late night cookies! I highly recommend Dinsmore to any visitor to Charlottesville. One critique is that the landscaping could use a facelift.

Just returned from 2 nights at Dinsmore House. We found the resident inn keepers Bill and Shari to be excellent hosts with lots of recommendations of things to do and near by restaurants. As dog lovers, we truly enjoyed the opportunity to play with their adorable dog Ellie, who is a sweet and mellow addition to the B&B. The home...

Spent a weekend here with 5 other couples to celebrate my 40th birthday. This is a very historical B&B and an absolutely beautiful place. It is conveniently located to UVA and all kinds of restaurants and bars. The resident managers Bill and Sherry greeted us warmly and gave us the history of the B&B and suggested some of their favorite...

Sadly, I cannot give a proper review as it was impossible to book from the start. I had decided to go out of our way to Charlottesville, in order to stay at The Dinsmore for my daughter's sixteenth birthday. After three attempts to contact the owner, who initially said that we could stay for one night on the weekend, we...

We stayed one night at the Dinsmore and will put it on our list to come back. Great location right on Main street. It is very close to the road so I was concerned traffic noise might be a problem but in our room (the James Monroe room) it was not a problem. The speed limit is fairly low and...
