We recently stayed at Maddox Family Campground. The have new owners and lots of planned upgrades. While awaiting the upgrades, they have no cable and only have wifi at their office. The sites are still nice and several are having sheds and other structures removed. One thing to note, late September has really bad mosquitoes! Their staff is extremely pleasant,helpful...

We read all the reviews on every campground in the area and ultimately decided to take a chance on this one despite some of the negative reviews we read and boy am I glad we did! I have nothing but good things to say. Camp staff were friendly and accommodating, sites are close together but decent sized, bath houses were...

Thank you, Charlotte, for taking the time to give us a 5-star review! Our staff works very hard to provide the best camping experience to our guests! We also love the lighthouse view! During the off-season we will be doing some renovations to include updated bath houses. We hope to see you on your return visit soon!

First off this is a campground near a wet land near a ocean. Which makes for spectacular views and experiences but will challenge the uninitiated. Be prepared to keep camp rodent and bug proof. Container pack everything and immediately clean surfaces and remove garbage from the site to manage flies, seagulls and squirrels. Mosquitos were not bad and we noticed...

The Maddox Family campground has the perfect location for beautiful, comfortable camping and for accessing Assateague Island. We were tent (no hook-up) camping and therefore got to pick where to set up site. They don't have pre-specified, groomed pads so the area is natural and green. Their grounds are my measuring stick for other places. Most of the area has...

Thank you for taking the time to review our campground! Our staff works hard and it is so nice to hear that it is appreciated. The campground was clean, well maintained and felt safe with security and lighting. They had very friendly staff. Toni, Brenda, Peggy and especially Will were all helpful, friendly and supportive. Thank you for making a hot sticky situation more pleasant.

I made reservations for 2 sites side by side with full hook up, in early March when they opened for season. We were traveling with friends who hadn't been to area and we wanted to be side by side. I called, I followed up with a letter and called again to make sure they received the letter. When we arrived...

This is not a "glamping" campground. I am fairly new to camping (we bought a travel trailer last fall), but my husband has his entire life and said this reminded him of campgrounds he frequented when younger. We thoroughly enjoyed Maddox with our family of 5, including three small children. Yes it is basic, with not great bath houses and...

Well first of all trying to make a reservation was quite simple once someone finally answered the phone. The first time we called someone answered; my wife got info she needed and told them we'd call back in 30 minutes. 2 1/2 days and 2 voice messages later someone finally answered the phone again (no one ever returned either of...

Not sure where to start but was lied to from the beginning and was told we would be 2 rows from a Beach. Heads up...beach is miles away!
