The place was adorable, styled to look like mini victorian houses/old style plantation houses. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom had a hot tub, double sinks etc. There was also a pool and hot tub outdoors. Breakfast cost extra but was very good, and seemed to attract locals as well.

Close by the highway, but quiet. Bonus! Large room clean and comfortable for the most part. A couple of tears in bathroom wallpaper, soap dispenser in shower could use a little tlc. On site restaurant okay, but very handy traveling with a dog. Would stay again and highly recommend !

Check in was quick and painless. Room was lovely: queen bed, pull out sofa, writing desk with chair, nice TV. Vanity area was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and hairdryer. Tub had jets and could be used as a whirlpool spa! There was a nice balcony outside the back sliding door. Parking was convenient... A sumptuous $7.50 buffet breakfast...

While working in the area I had been staying at MicroTel-- which was nice except the beds were too soft & the breakfast of toast & cold cereal wasn't so nice. Then I discovered this wonderful spot! Everything from the spacious room, cleanliness, restaurant, whirlpool tub, quite location & friendliness of the staff was Awesome! Family owned by American folks...

We go to VI for the fried oysters (weekends). But their breakfasts are worth going out of our way, too. Don't understand the person who said "skip the breakfast"! We enjoy their breakfasts. Service is always considerate, calm, helpful. We've never had an overnight stay.

We loved it here and will stay here again, but only because front and back windows allow for a fresh breeze, airing out the soapy smell. We stayed here on our way from NC to NY. Hwy 81 is a welcome alternative to the 95 and this charming motel is in a convenient location. 4.5 hrs from Charlotte and 6...

Unremarkable generic motel, but clean and fairly quiet. Skip the breakfast, which is nothing special and misleadingly priced. Just $7.50 but after they charged for the coffee and two glasses of OJ the bill was 50 percent higher than expected. They removed the coffee charge when I complained but I still paid for the orange juice. Extra for orange juice...

I stayed one night on my way from South Carolina to NH. I needed a dog friendly place and this was great. The room was huge! I stayed in room 101 and had easy access to the field next to the motel for a good romp with my large dog. I will definitely stay here again.

We stayed two nights at The Village Inn. We had a great experience. As we walked into the room, we were greeted with a pleasant aroma of freshness! The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. I love that they have a separate bin for items that can be recycled!! The jacuzzi was perfect after a day of hiking...
