We did loads of cool activities and I really like how we had a special card to turn the lights on in our room (108).We had hot chocolate each night and did a fun activity. We...

You couldn't ask for a better location, walk right from the door to some of the best hills and views in the area. The staff were great (helpful and very friendly), the food very good, rooms spotless. Nice little bar area. Perfect to relax after a good walk. Nothing else was required, perfect.

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at Glaramara. Fabulous hotel and very peaceful. All staff are lovely and the food is delicious. The fell walking in Borrowdale is great with fantastic views from the summits, luckily we had beautiful clear days. We would certainly return!!

Glaramara is a beautiful old building that has been fantastically and sympathetically modernised. Taken over a few years ago it has consistently improved year by year. The new room are very modern and spacious and very clean. Great bar and top notch food. It's an outdoors place for outdoors people, unpretentious and relaxing. The views are incredible and the staff...

Recently visited on a teambuilding trip with my 6th Form. Had a great 3 days away. Most of the rooms were very nice (although I unfortunately found myself in one of the older rooms, although the bed was still very comfy). The food was excellent as well. Our activity leaders were amazing, very nice to talk to and great at...

Accommodation was simple and quite basic (no tv for example) but exceptionally clean and really friendly staff. Hotel is perfectly suited for exploring Borrowdale with lots of fantastic walks in the area. We stayed on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis and the food was excellent and pretty good value for money.

The hotel staff was super friendly and helpful. On a moments notice they did a load of laundry for us and had it ready the next...

I have just arrived home after a delightful, 5 day stay at Glaramara. I am one of the ladies on the Spinner's Masterclass, organised by Wingham Wools of Wentworth, in Yorkshire. I understood Glaramara to be a 'Retreat' and thought the accomodation would be on a par with a bunkhouse... How wrong I was! The room was really clean, my...

We have stayed at Glaramara with a group of friends for several years now. Stunning location and views at the end of the Borrowdale valley just before the Honister pass. Caters for all abilities. High level and low level walking right from the door. For those less energetically inclined, the open top bus stops just outside and runs along the...
