My wife and I had recently purchased some land in Highland County, Virginia. Because we needed to clear some brush on the new property, we decided to stay in Monterey while getting a weekend of work accomplished. My wife found Laurel Point online and called Jim to see if they could accommodate us on short notice. Turns out that their...

We spent the Memorial day weekend here and loved everything about it. The views are outstanding, and Lorraine and Jim were great hosts. The breakfast was always freshly made at home, and very tasty. We left an item behind, and though it took us a while to miss it they'd already sent it to us at home. We would definitely...

My wife and I spent the weekend at Laurel Point to view the Fall foliage. The inn is in an excellent location, up on a mountain, with great views. Nothing like have a hot cup of coffee and looking out the windows as sunrise falls on the mountainsides. The innkeepers, Jim and Lorraine, do a very good job of making...

We just had a wonderful weekend at Laurel Point - foliage is nearing peak - and wanted to provide more details on the Bird House for anyone who may be interested in that particular room, as there was not much information available online. While I gave a 5-star rating (see every other review for comments we would echo about the...

My daughter and I greatly enjoyed our second stay in the log room of this delightful B&B. The location, in a forest on a ridge overlooking the town of Monterey and beyond, offers a unique combination of rustic charm, tranquility, and natural beauty that would be hard to surpass. Hosts Jim and Lorraine work hard to provide a warm and...

This was my second stay at Laurel Point. The B&B is located on Jack's Mountain just minutes from the town of Monterey, Virginia. You get an incredible view of the mountains from the B&B. I felt at home the moment that I walked into the front door. Jim and Lorraine, the innkeepers, gave us a warm welcome. Jim showed us...

We spent a lovely few days here while walking in the least populated county this side of the Mississippi. Jim and Lorraine were wonderful hosts as was their dog - Jodie - who happily joined us for our first walk up the mountain at the back. The view is stunning and constantly changing with the weather. Breakfasts were a delight...

Laurel Point has the best views from a residential structure I have ever seen in my life-- and I have been to over 30 countries. In fact, Laurel Point may have the best mountain views of any B&B in the country. But the views are not the only reason to visit. Jim and Lorraine are a truly exceptional couple. Jim...

I was traveling to visit my sister in Maryland and decided to take a side trip to this neat mountain town having visited there twice before. This time was February 2014 and snow covered the ground but I did not have difficulty driving. Just stayed one night but had a really good clean room with view. Hosts were top of...

Traveler couple in late 60's. Among our very best B&B experiences ever. The setting is beautiful, and the B&B itself is rustic, warm, and welcoming, very well designed, furnished, and operated. But best of all are the proprietors, Jim and Lorraine White, whose rural life and gentle ways coddled us like family from the first moment to the last, but...
