Located at the southern end of White Sands beach. The beachfront is rocky but a path has been cleared of rocks to allow access to the sandy bottom beyond. For the start of the sand only beach you only have to walk along for about 50 metres. Reception staff were friendly and cheerful. We had booked triple rooms for 5 nights due to late booking. I assume double rooms are an option. The buildings are aged but fairly well maintained. The room was clean with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in around Thailand. Eveything worked just fine. The cleaning ladies were doing their thing on a daily basis. The breakfast was adequate. Juices, coffee, toast, fried eggs, omelet, hotdogs, thai dishes more than enough fuel for day's activity. Anyone who is critical of breakfast is just a whinger IMHO. Our group came together one day for lunch at the restaurant. No complaints from any group member about the food. I did not use the swimming pool as I'm a beach person. It did look well maintained with a number of sunloungers and deck chairs provided. To the reviewer who compared Banpu with Kacha I say they are incomparable. Why? Well the Banpu property has been established a lot longer than Kacha. Plus Kacha is not a beachfront property and their rooms, albeit more modern looking are at the same time a lot more expensive. Overall, I found Banpu good value for money and I enjoyed my stay here.

We had a lovely stay here. The beds are quit good, quit comfortable! The bathroom is somewhat outdated, but haven’t seen much better in Koh Chang. The rooms are clean as well as the mutual facilities. The breakfast is really good, enough food; local dishes, yoghurt, fruit, juices, fresh eggs and pancakes. The hotel has a towel service for the pool and ‘beach’ area. You walk straight into the sea, only some stones in stead of sand beach in the first part, but still easy to access. We extended our stay with another night and the friendly staff arranged that we could keep our room. If the hotel wasn’t fully booked, we would have extended our stay with another two nights.
The curtains in the room don’t make the room completely dark, however, the dark (anti-spy) windows helped a lot, so it didn’t bother us to much. Wi-Fi connectivity is not really strong on the resort. When it’s not cloudy, people put towels on the sunbeds already and come (far) after breakfast, so on these days you need to be early to have one.

Restaurant had good cheese pizza (tho seems all the pizzas on the island look the same) and large portions of fried rice and pineapple fried rice. It’s situated within some nice greenery and a garden which gives it a nice atmosphere. Staff were quite quick and efficient. We would go back

Nice hotel, but: we had bedbugs in our room, I was full of bite marks. The staff did a search and we got to change to another room. At the same day I noticed there was already next customers in our first room?! I hope the staff sprayed the room well after we left. The second room was fine without bedbugs, but the aircon didn't work so well. If the sea water is high, you can hear the waves hitting "stairs" outside at night if you get room right next to beach. The pool area is small and all the sunbeds were reserved before breakfast with towels, books etc but luckily the beach is near. :)

There is little doubt this is a great location. The “beach hut” theme is nice as the hotel is right on the beach. Staff were very pleasant and polite. Breakfast was adequate, but can be a bit limited if you don’t enjoy Thai food for breakfast. Whilst the rooms were clean, the whole wooden decor was tired and in need of renovation. My wardrobe door was warped and didn’t shut properly. A lot of the tiles on the shower floor were crumbling at the edges or missing. Not saying it was the case for all the rooms, but my room was pretty dark and exacerbated but poor lighting.

My wife and I (in our 50's) stayed here Nov 24. We had a bungalow overlooking the pool. The room was good, if a bit dated. The AC was adequate and the shower and bathroom facilities were fine. As with many Thai hotels the beds are are typically very firm but you do get used to them in the end. The location is perfect for the beach and all that White Sands as a resort has to offer. The breakfast was a bit disappointing but was adequate.

We only went there to eat and it was wonderful. We came here almost every day. The food is delicious, but beware: huge portions. My Massaman curry came in a huge bowl. You can also share it. The staff is nice and the location right on the beach is really nice.

Pros: service and employees very helpful and friendly. Restaurant: dinner and breakfast very good. Pizzas even excellent. Hygiene: clean. Mattresses: very good. Not so hard.
Cons: everything is very dated, worn (linens), and broken. E.g. the bathroom is really old and out of date. Tap loose on the sink, pieces of tiles missing, old shower curtain, etc. The pool is also old. Edges covered with duct tape. Sunbeds old and the cushions cracked and worn.
Investments would have to be made in various components. That is preserving your business.
Outside the hotel: we didn't think the sea was really clean....

Vacationed from August 19 to September 3, 2023. Stylish, atmospheric hotel located next to the beach. The ocean view from the room was amazing. Cozy atmosphere, good breakfast, friendly staff. I would especially like to mention the hotel managers and manager Jing. I really enjoyed my stay!
