The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was very good. The bedroom was of a good standard with a comfortable bed, if a little quirky in it's decor. You could view the Loire from the room, but the view was somewhat impaired by a restaurant building directly opposite. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but there are a... More

We had a big room on the ground floor to the left and on expecting the road to be noisy were pleasantly surprised. Comfortable and the Ship next door is good for dinner. Breakfast is fine...continental with a boiled egg.

We had a one night stay here while visiting the wine fair. Warm welcome and offe to put our car in the secure family car space at the back of the hotel. Room was recently decorated and had all the basics, breakfast was simple but with a good choice. We enjoyed our stay!

Stayed over the other night to buy some wine and then travel south. We had difficulty with traffic travelling down but the owner was most obliging when we telephoned en route to say we would be late arriving. The room was fine and this is a recomended hotel for a peaceful stay on the Loire.

Old charming hotel next to the river Loire. Easy parking. Small but functional bedroom. Individual decor. No elevator and limited space in the stairs. Nice and helpful staff. Very nice area with several vineries.

We looked at the website for the sort of room we required and dismissed most of them but one, the Simenon Room, suited and was fine. The owner is very helpful and the location is great for exploring the vinyards of the Eastern Loire (we were collecting wine on the way to the Dordogne). The river is just outside for... More

Our friends took us there as they had stayed before. We found the hotel charming with very friendly owners/staff. I left my jacket in the bar next door and the hotel arranged to have it sent to my home - excellent service. Hotel is certainly worth a visit as it is a lovely quirky place and has a great restaurant... More

Used this as a base to explore Berry and collect some wine from a local Vineyard. Wonderful location on the banks of the Loire. The quirky themed rooms made this stay more pleasurable. We stayed in the Provence room, the bathroom was disguised in what looked like gite (or a garden shed), and the sitting area was a garden bench... More

My wife and I met two friends here, for some wine buying, some sightseeing and a couple of seriously nice dinners. The hotel is very comfortable, nice rooms and a reasonable choice for breakfast. Friendly staff, very helpful in finding us two very good local restaurants.

lovely hotel virtually perfect for our two night stay. We know this area but hadn't stayed in this hotel before. Bruno the proprietor charming and welcoming. No negatives but if you are not that mobile the long staircase may be awkward.
