I've been meaning to write a quick review about this place for the last year or so (visited summer 2015). We ate at the restaurant which is in a lovely location in Ars en Re, where our children could run around and play while we enjoyed great food and drink overlooking the square. But what always stuck in my memory...

We had passed this hotel on a previous trip and liked the look of it. It turned out to be just as attractive inside too ...we only spent one night on our way back from the UK , Il de Re is our favourite place to stop on our way back to our home in the Lot. Ars en Ray...

If you are thinking about going to the Ile de Ré, I want to put in a plug for Ars-en-Ré before talking about the hotel. Ars-en-Ré is the ideal village on this ideal island. It is big enough to have several nice restaurants, and small enough to be tranquil. Bicycling off road is what you do on the island. Ars...

Great find in the very centre of Ars en Re. Beautiful little privately owned hotel with imaginative furnishings and lots of romantic court yards full of flowers and plants. Breakfast in the open air and sunbathing by the tiny swimming pool was a great relief from a very hot day. Cycling around the salt flats, visiting the local market and...

We stayed here for a week in mid-May with our son who lives in the States but has always loved the Ile de Ré. It is a really unusual building with surprises round every corner - delightful courtyards, luxuriant flowers and a wonderful saloon where one can sit and read quietly. In addition the reception area boasts a comfortable sofa...

On paper HLS is perfect; it has beautiful chic interiors and is a very short distance from anything you'd want to visit in Ars en Re. Walkable distance to Church*, delis, restaurants, bike rental and a short bike ride to beach, port, a mini golf course and markets.) It truly is a beautiful holiday hideaway for anyone who needs peace...

We arrived to the hotel late and they had left our key out for us. The lobby is nicely designed and a great communal space. We were staying for two nights. We didn't get much sleep for the duration of the stay. The rooms are minimalist with wooden floors, although it looks great you can hear everything from the other...

Lovely shabby chic hotel, original features blended with a cool contemporary look. Beautifully designed by Christophe Ducharme... Appropriately named given his style. Conveniently positioned in the charming village of Ars en Ré with lovely shops, restaurants and bike hire within a stones throw. Lovely breakfast at 13€pp but I did find our bed very uncomfortable, to the point I hardly...

The hotel were friendly and very helpful from the first contact. We were happy with the room recommended to us and despite arriving at 8 p.m. were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the hotel by the owner. The room had a lovely bathroom and separate loo, a sitting area and spacious terrace. Breakfast was served beautifully and local...

We stayed with our children and their grandparents for two nights. We had two rooms in the main hotel, which were charming & boutique-style. We also had an apartment which was about 50m from the main hotel. More functional than the hotel rooms - less snazzy decor, but the apartment had a small kitchen so we could cook dinner for...
