We have just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at Le Corps De Garde. We had booked the room "Trousse Chemise" because of its description on the website and it did not fail to impress. The views of the harbour and out to sea from the 3 windows were incredible. The bed was comfortable and the room was well...

This was my third visit at Babeth and Julia's marvelous house, Le Corps de Garde. Beautifully located on the quiet side of the small harbor, overlooking the daily movement of the sailing boat and the sunset, the house is magnificently decorated, charming and authentic, with delicate linen and furniture. Every Time I feel as if I was in my own family...

This is a guest house offering Bed & Breakfast in a great location. The property is best described as "shabby chic". It is very clean and our room, a superior double, was of a very good size, dual aspect with a slightly restricted view of the entrance to the harbour. I couldn't describe the accommodation as luxurious but it has...

Overlooking the entrance to pretty and busy harbour of St Martin, this beautiful 'home' could not be better placed. Just away form the hubbub of the town and yet within 200 metres of it. The delightful owner has created an amazingly beautiful haven. Stunningly decorated the rooms are simple but very romantic... Shabby chic at its very best. The breakfast...

(+) Best location. Very close to bus stop (free bus and paid bus). Beautiful decor (if you love antiques). Good water pressure (bathroom decor is antique but utility overall is actually well updated) . I can only speak English but they can understand me. I really liked the atmosphere of this accommodation!! Each room has different decor. (-) No lift....

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. It has a great location near all shops and restaurants. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We had no issues with check in and parking was available just around the corner - a code is needed to access this inner harbour area though so...

There have been mixed reviews on here but speaking personally we had a really nice stay! The hotel is very quirky & eccentric but it is designed in a delightful and very French way. Breakfast was lovely, little plate of fruit including fresh & dried fig, strawberries & cherries, with a good choice of teas, coffee and pastries. The staff...

Although on arrival our taxi driver had to ring the owner to advise her that we were waiting outside the locked hotel, it was worth the short wait. The location was fabulous-right on the quayside and the former Guardsmans building was lovingly and tastefully renovated and refurbished (photographs showing the owners hard work and dedication could be viewed in photo...

On a rainy, cold weekend visit to Ile De Re , we discovered the Corps de Garde. Lovely B&B with authentique decor. We were quickly warmed by Babeth’s hospitality. We felt so at home in the cosy rooms. Thank you Babeth and co. for a wonderful experience...Until our next visit!

As the title suggests we thought it was brilliant .................. we are in love with the Ile de Re and found this little gem by accident and there is no doubt we'll be back. The quirky décor, fabulous location and great welcome will ensure that - I don't write too many reviews - only when somewhere is worth sharing!
