Warning: Don’t expect a refund Unfortunately we had to cancel our family holiday due to travel restrictions in France. I had paid for holiday insurance with this hotel to cover us for a full refund in the event that we could not travel. We have waited one month for a refund and the hotel are refusing to give us our money back. I am now having to take legal action. I appreciate these are difficult times for the ski resorts but to be quite frank this behaviour is despicable. We had hoped to rebook this hotel with friends next season now absolutely not a chance!

We stayed over Christmas & extended our stay a few times (to get to France ahead of restrictions and once there, to make the most of being there), with all requests happily accommodated by the team, against a backdrop of dealing with a huge amount of cancellations & changes due to government/travel regulations. Location is perfect, from the front of the hotel you have a 1 minute easy run straight down to centre of Mottaret/tourist office/lift pass office/ski school meeting points. This slope also has a gentle sledging area, or you could choose to do the night time sledging on Tuesday evening if feeling more adventurous. It's also the run where the kids torchlit run descends on Wednesdays. It was pretty easy to walk back up to the hotel, either by steps or by slope but you could take the Chalets lift if preferred. Being a little higher in Mottaret (having stayed many times in Meribel), also meant much quicker access to the 3 valleys with little to no queues. The hotel is warm and welcoming, with good sized rooms, comfortable beds, powerful hot showers and fabulous views, all well taken care of with great housekeeping staff. We enjoyed the newly built spa and the hot tub out front, sitting by the fire enjoying Hugo's cocktails, and the restaurant (the all inclusive package is definitely excellent value for money). The food is outstanding, we especially appreciated the great lengths gone to for both the French Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve and the British Christmas dinner (including crackers) on Christmas Day. Santa made a special visit with gifts for all children, not just any gift...each child had been very carefully considered. The chefs sought feedback and were eager to please, which they did every day. Best of all are all of the staff, without exception, nothing is too much trouble and they are incredibly welcoming, hard working and professional (even in supporting myself with a medical emergency). I generally have a rule of not returning with a view to always trying somewhere new but, for this place, I would make an exception, this hotel is difficult to beat. Thank you Katie and the whole team for everything.

I had a short but sweet stay here in January, the room was great and super clean, and I had a beautiful view from my balcony. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and the breakfast buffet had so many tasty options. Definitely recommend!

Great hotel with brilliant service throughout, made to feel very welcome by every member of the team. Location is ideal with ski in ski out. The breakfast is the best I have had in the Alps. The hotel bar/lounge is very cool, we felt no need to venture out in the evenings. Will definitely be back, hopefully soon (when allowed!). Thanks.

This is a great hotel and great location. The hotel is being renovated but saying this it didn’t impact us at all. Everything was available, the staff are so friendly it’s like being at home. Nothing seems to be an issue for them. Katie ordered in a charger for me as left mine at home and this says so much about this hotel. The room are a good size all with their own balcony. So views are amazing every day. The food in the restaurant is also so good and there is some thing for everyone. It is such a great experience when product and service are done so well. We will be coming back next year. Thank you all so much for a fantastic stay and it’s not even over yet.
