Never ever stay in a double standard room in this hotel. The rooms are so tiny you don't even have room to stand a suitcase around the bed and you will not be able to stand up in 80% of the room, and not able to walk around the bed (due to sloping roof). There will also be no window... More

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was very comfortable and ideally located only a few minutes walk from the slopes, cable cars and lifts. The hotel is located at the lower end of the main high street and close to shops and restaurants. I particularly enjoyed the lounge and bar which were cosy and welcoming. The staff... More

Excellent hotel. We stayed last week in a big party of four families. Rooms were lovely. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was superb - anything you want! The location is really good, around a 5 minute walk to the slopes which was good for the children in particular. The ski hire shop across the road was also excellent... More

Chaudanne is a traditional hotel in Meribel. The recent revamp isn't full, so don't expect the entire hotel to look as pictured on the website. You may be disappointed if you do. With that in hand, I would probably have paid the extra for neighbouring La Kaila. In the end, we felt that Chaudanne was somewhat overpriced for the experience.

This hotel lives up to every expectation. Our very early (08.00) arrival was greeted with excellent service. Although not able to access room, luggage was accommodated, shower facilities made available, along with a changing room to put on ski wear. Later in the day I received a text to let me know that the room was now available, and luggage... More

This was our first time to Meribel although we had skied in from Courcheval on previous occasions. We were extremely lucky choosing this hotel as the Chaudonne has a fantastic location. The affiliated ski shop offered A1 service and looked after our ski equipment overnight. Ski Resorts can be expensive and this hotel would be in the top quartile. €9... More

Excellent location for skiing. The hotel staff are superb and the service of the 'voiturier' on arrival was brilliant. We had a family room which was extremely spacious and comfortable - one King room connected to an interior room with a King and single bed, both with en-suite bathrooms. The bar area is modern yet cosy and comfortable and the... More

We stayed at La Chaudanne for a week this month. This is the third time we have stayed here, the two previous occasions before the hotel was refurbished. We went there for our honeymoon in 2009, and then again in 2010. Both times were were impressed with the standards of the hotel and staff. But tour impressions on these visits... More

This is a first rate hotel, close to the pistes with excellent full buffet breakfast, great staff and good amenities including a pool, sauna & gym. Staff go out of their way to help. Try to get a room overlooking the town as it is a sensational vista. The rooms are comfortable, well fitted out and serviced twice daily.

I have stayed at Hotel Chaudanne a few times and always enjoyed its charm and older style. Since the refurbishment, it has improved in almost every way and the staff are outstanding. I think the rooms are a little dated / small, but this adds to the charm. We stayed over Christmas and it was a real treat. Everyone made... More
