Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If I could give zero I would this place is rotten, the owner takes cash then reports you have not stayed and when you complain that the place is unfit for purpose as stinking, no hot water for shower the front doors smashed in and electrics. Live hanging out the ceiling etc she refused to give refund it was so bad we’ve had to move. This lady is abhorrent rude avoid as much as you can also we booked a twin room and were given a double bed two guys had to sleep in same bed

If you book this under the impression that you are staying in a lodge, several rooms, maybe a log fire, small dining room. Well you are sorely mistaken.

If you enjoy whispering to your partner because every room and the entire house can hear you, if you love anyone looking into your room because the door doesn't fit in the frame, if you are keen on shoddy electric work and some dodgy interior work, then this is the place for you.

I would highly recommend NOT booking this place. Spend a little more money and get something nearer the city center.

The host/landlady is very friendly and made us feel welcome straight away, but this doesn't make up for how truly terrible this venue is!!
AVOID!!!!

I was tempted by a low price. However, after adding the costs of commuting to the center, it would be more logical to rent a room in the center. Room small, very cold. A huge crack in the door. The bathroom has a dirty and wet rug. .I do not recommend

Not the worst place I have stayed in
Loads of little quirky things door's don't fit frames so don't shut properly without key
Cold although was told heating would be put on for 2nd night it wasn't
Very cold shower morning leaving problem with hot water
Very noisy light in bathroom and can hear people turn over in bed all night
Dusty and needs decorating
But saying that Erica is lovely very helpful and welcoming
Did me perfect for what I need with location although did struggle to find it even locals didn't know it existed
If you need a bed which was very comfy and a hot cup of coffee then it's perfect
Also has kitchen microwave you can use which I hadn't realised and a 10 mins walk from local. Shops

Arrived approx 4pm to find that the 'hotel' was boarded up with a skip outside. Tried to attract attention and knock on windows/doors but to no avail. Could not get in contact with the owner via telephone either. Not an ideal area to get in and out from dublin either, involves taxis and the train. If you book this 'hotel' take proof that it doesn't exist or else you'll have trouble getting your money back.

This place was not horrible, but definitely not properly advertised. It should be rented out as an airbnb. This place is just three rooms in someone's apartment, very difficult to find. My friend and I had the wrong address (it's actually 7, not 61), and the older woman who lives at 61 said that she gets people that show up at her home looking for Ashemere Lodge all the time.
As for the place itself, it is a fixer-upper. The woman who lives there and seems to be running the place does not speak English very well, but decent enough and she is very nice. The condition of the place is okay, I would say that it was at least better than some hostels I've stayed in.
Overall, it was just not expected. If you were expecting a hotel/motel type of deal, you would be very surprised at what you find. Also, the location is not the best. It was nearly a 45 minute bus ride into the center of Dublin each day. It was definitely not terrible, but also I would not recommend this place unless you are a seasoned traveler and are comfortable with staying in a situation as described. If you are, then I would say go for it!

Dirty place with horrible smells. Leak on bathroom so couldn't use it. Tv doesnt work. Bed headboard broken, dirty bed, duvet and pillow with blood stains. Electric wires falling from ceiling and broken electric plugs. Dirty iron board full of stains. Broken window shutter. Garden with old matresses and full of rubbish. The floor was not clean and was sticky. First day the 4 of us slept on the car because the smell was unbarable and refused to stay next day. No refund... no apology.. instead the landlaid demanded the key back and rebooked the room we paid to someone else. Called me names when i complained and threatened me that she would sue if I putt the pics up. Horrible experience considering we lost €300 with the experience.

I arrived around 18:00 was kept waiting for the door to open after 30 mins the manager opened the door unable to understand English, the room was dirty the whole house was dirty and noisy, I had traveled from turkey by flight and had to take a cold shower, the next day the owner had missed my booking and I had to move out she then called me around 22:00 saying that the room was free and I could rebook by which time the price had increased to 180 euro per night/ I am worldly traveled and without a doubt, this is the worst place i have ever stayed in.........

The bathrooom wasn't that clean, no showercurtain, cracks in the bathtub, cracks in the front door, locks of the rooms weren't working properly.... Overall I wouldn't advise it and it's not worth the money.
The best things about our stay was the fact that we were only there for 2 days and the housekeeper is a very nice person.
