Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were not guests at the hotel but we did have lunch/ drinks here on two occasions. The first was a lucky find and the second because it was an enjoyable experience. Delightful staff, the food was delicious and of course it was perfectly situated.

We were greeted warmly by Franco at reception. He was so helpful whilst we stayed at the hotel- serving us drinks on the lovely beach terrace and generously giving us snacks of olives, bruschetta, crisps and nuts when we ordered our drinks. He helped when I had an ear infection by directing me to a pharmacist and offering suggestions about keeping it out of the sun. He later enquired how I was feeling. He and his wife gave us little gifts for our anniversary and my birthday that we celebrated whilst we were there. He ordered us a taxi to take us to the top of the Mortella Gardens , a much easier way was to walk down the gardens than try to walk up the steep slopes. We were able to walk the 20 minutes to the Negombo gardens and thermal park which was fantastic . Everywhere we looked in the hotel there was quirky ornaments and retro furniture. It looked freshly painted inside and out. The breakfast room had a lovely view over the seafront too. We didn't stay for long in the thermal bath they have in the basement as it was only lukewarm. Our bedroom was bright and clean, the shower cubicle was quite small and we couldn't get the water to run very hot. All in all we absolutely loved our stay in this sweet hotel. Its all about the LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION - which cannot be beaten ! Thank you Franco and Catherina.

The hotel is perfectly located at the beach and in the middel of the town. Staff are helpful and friendly. Comfortable and clean rooms. Breakfast is served with a view on the sea. Overall, a good choice for a relaxing stay at beautiful Ischia.

On arrival, after a long trip, don't rest your weary heads, instead argue with the manager about whether a triple room means room for two or room for three. After settling in, go down to the private beach- there's loads of broken glass for your toddler to play with. Had enough of broken glass? Why not spend an hour in the hotel's lukewarm spa pool. It's dark down there but at least you'll have the company of mosquitoes. Finally, after an uncomfortable night, sleeping on a lumpy bed, head to breakfast- the view is great, you have the restaurant to yourself...but, apparently, you can't sit anywhere near the window. 'Reserved for guests spending more money,' the waiter tells you. Thank you Hotel Terme Marina!

Nice hotel, with very friendly and helpfull staff. Location is great. Near busstop and restaurants and the hotel has its own beach. Nice places to visit are Ischia city, or baia di sorgeto: punta chiarito (35 euros to stay in the resort for one day, included lunch (not the drinks)).

We spent 8 nights here in September and found the position of this hotel excellent. Our room was clean and adequate, we had a balcony which overlooked the courtyard and if you looked over the side of the wall you could see the sea. Our bedding and towels were changed daily and for the amount we paid we could not fault it. The owners were very helpful and we did not meet the grumpy waiter referred to in a previous review.

The location is excellent, just across the road from the beach, and the rooms are great value for money AND the place is spotlessly clean, and very pretty... but beware the waiter. He's Basil Fawlty... he shouts and complains and bullies. He refuses to bring you coffee if he thinks you're sitting in the wrong place and he sulks too. So although we paid for breakfast for two people every day for 6 days, we never had so much as a cup of coffee. On the other hand, the owner/manager was charming and went out of his way to be helpful. So what can I tell you? Just steer well clear of the grumpy waiter, I suppose.
