We have just returned home from a week at this hotel feeling very relaxed. The staff in all areas from reception to restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious and had a lovely view of lake Lugano. We did not pay to use the adult only spa but used the family spa and sauna. We found the best time to go was after 6pm as it was quieter. The spa had sauna, steam room and relax area where children under 16 were not allowed. There are 2 outdoor pools which we did not try as they are not heated and also private beach area. We were on half board, the breakfast had so much choice. The evening menu changed each evening, we had to pay for our drinks. There is parking on site but it is chargeable. The staff are knowledgeable on places to visit.

We stayed here for one week in September. The resort is right on the shores of Lake di Lugano and has beautiful views across the lake. The welcome from the reception staff was warm and informative, and we were given a voucher for a welcome drink (nice touch).

The Room
We'd booked a comfort room with a lake view. The room was clean and very spacious: large lounge and dining areas with air conditioning, a TV, a sofa bed, a dining table that seats 4, and doors out to the balcony that overlooked the lake. The bedroom was a reasonable size with its own air conditioning unit. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were dreadful: flat and pretty useless. Ask for additional pillows if you like your head to be at all elevated! The kitchenette was small but serviceable, with a fridge, sink, and hob.

The Resort
The resort itself is lovely, with 2 swimming pools: once for the whole family with slides, etc., and one for adults only. The bar area is very nice and offers table service. There are lots of facilities for children, including a kids club (Club Bim Bam Bino), and what looked like a kids film night (this was on when we arrived). There are donkeys at the resort too. Parco San Marco is quite a steep resort and there are lots of steps to consider. Steps up and down to the rooms, up to the reception, down to the pool area, etc. I mention this only in case people with mobility issues are thinking of visiting: it would be wise to check access with the management. The resort offers on site parking at a cost of €10 per day.

Across the road there is access to the beach bar, water sports, and lake. The bar and sunbathing area next to the lake are beautiful. Really peaceful and with stunning views. We spent a very happy afternoon there! From here you can also book water sports, including motorboat hire - great fun and I can highly recommend this! There is a tunnel from the resort to the lakeside facilities so there is no need to cross the road directly - a great benefit for the children that want to use the play area located on the lake side.

Food
We didn't eat in the restaurant for lunch or dinner, so I can't comment on this, but the breakfast buffet (served between 7am-11am / 11.30am on Sundays) was nice. There was a selection of breads, fruits, fish, cheese, eggs, juice, cereal, milk, and a juicing machine and selection of raw vegetables so you could make your own juice.

If you are planning to be self-catering here then be aware: There were no plates, cutlery, or cooking utensils, pans, etc., in the apartment and when we asked about this we were told that they would provide plates and cutlery for free but that there was a €60 charge for cooking utensils, pans, etc. We asked for the plates and cutlery (which were delivered to the room) and then we went to the supermarket and bought a couple of pans, utensils and sharp knives for €30. There is a supermarket about 2.5km away in Porlezza which is well stocked (Mon-Sat), and a slightly larger one about 4km away in Carlazzo (Mon-Sun).

Other Info.
The resort is well placed for visiting Lake Como (about a 25min drive to Tremezzo to get the boat across Lake Como to Bellagio - lovely day out but be sure to stop at Argegno - beautiful little town). Maggiore is further away and took us about 2hrs to reach. Parco San Marco is on the Italian / Swiss boarder and so passage between the two is frequent if you have a car, we never experienced any problems and crossed the boarder multiple times each day. If you fancy venturing further afield then St Moritz is about a 2.5hr drive from the resort and is wonderful. Well worth the drive.

Overall
We had a great week here and I mark the resort down by 1 star only because of the the charge for cooking utensils and the dreadful pillows! If we were to return to the Italian lakes, we would absolutely stay here again.

Thank you to all the staff at Dependence Del Parco & Parco San Marco for making our stay fantastic. The location was superb, and the staff from the reception, door staff and personal assistant - all outstanding and could not do enough for you. We stayed for four nights and quite easily could have stayed for 14 nights and our room was very much four stars - and included a superb view of Lake Lugano. My 12 year old daughter loved it as well. The staff is amazing and facilities perfect for us. Cannot wait to return for three weeks next time.

We will certainly recommend you and will be back!!! Thank you.

Just try something new and subscribe for our unique adventure climbing during your next visit? Our reception team will offer you a lot of hints of what to do in the nearer region. We stayed only two nights and wasn't long enough. Beautiful location and great lake view. Super breakfast and dinner choices great. Our room had separate bedroom and kitchenette. Extremely pleasant and helpful staff.
We drove to Menagio and got ferry to Bellagio in Lake Como it is only 7 km away. We really enjoyed our stay there.

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. Unfortunately on our visit the weather wasn't the best but the views were still breathtaking. If you are lucky enough for some sunshine they have a large pool with sun loungers for you to relax or you can stay by your room and relax.

Restaurants serve amazing food will friendly staff. Aparentments are very clean and spacious. I would stay here again.

For those of you that like walking a 15minute walk along the lake will take you to porlezza with traditional coffee shops and restaurants and you can take the bus from here to menaggio to explore more of the lake.

When travelling from the airport get the shuttle bus to the train station, the train to lugano and then the local bus to the hotel which stopsnright outside. Cheapest option.

The hotel is set in the most beautiful surroundings, with mountains towering over one side and lake Lugano to the other. The food and hospitality was excellent. The facilities were clean and never crowded. There was a bus stop right at the bottom of the drive which we used to get to lake como in one direction and also to the Swiss town of Lugano in the other. Take a rain coat as the weather was quite random(maybe it has something to do with the mountains!) we would go back there in a heartbeat!!!!

This is a fantastic resort. Do not hesitate in booking it. Got an apartment with an amazing view of the lake. Very spacious and clean. Service is superb, everyone very helpful and with the best attitude and lovely smiles. Spa is great, I was the only one there, had 3 saunas and steam room just for me, wished it opened earlier and would then have used it every day. Inside pool is very nice. Outside pools look fantastic but they are not heated and it was cold in October. This place must be a hit in summer for families with kids, tons of activities and things to keep the entire family busy (foozball, pingpong, tennis, amazing outdoor areas, teens and kids clubs, etc). Ah...and THE breakfast....delicious! First time I go to a buffet breakfast and don’t take any carbs....the other options are so great ...so many fruits (the best mango I have had in a while, great papaya, passion fruit, etc), juice machines, eggs to order, smoothies, prosecco, etc....kids loved the pancakes. Resort is 20 min to Lugano, 20 min to Lake Como. Don’t miss Villa Del Balbianello (where Star Wars and James Bond were filmed). This was my 4th trip to Como/Lugano region and by far the best accommodation I have had there.

My husband and I stayed here towards the end of our 12 day trip and it was the perfect setting to wind down the trip. Lake Lugano is gorgeous and there is not one bad view from the resort. We hung out one day at the private beach and swam in the lake and rented the paddle boats for an hour, which I highly recommend. The restaurants were amazing as well and I highly recommend asking about reserving the Buddha pavilion for a private dinner for two- really romantic and you just can’t beat the views. If you want to check out Lake Como, it’s only about a 25 minute drive. This place is also great for families. We would definitely stay here again!

After a long journey and drive and check in process, we were somewhat disappointed to find that the "Lake view (partially restricted)" as promised on the hotel's website was actually no Lake view (see pictures). All that is visible is a roof of a nearby property.
Traveling with 3 children including a 18 month toddler I immediately raised this with the front desk.
This is when we were offered as an alternative an inferior old apartment that was up 3 flights of stairs and had spiral stairs for the duplex room and a balcony totally unsafe for toddlers. Perhaps Wendy already knew we would not like it at all but at least she could claim that she tried! It was a complete waste of my time (after such a long day) to show me that unsuitable apartment in F Villa that was actually INFERIOR.
Even more offensive was their offer of a refund for us to leave. Where on earth where we going to go at last minute? I really resent Wendy's attitude towards us and it really needs addressing as we still feel upset about this.

I cannot fault the service and warmth from Lara, Valentina and Roberto who were very friendly.
The resort is beautiful and stunning with so many things to do and enjoy from the beach and pools to the brilliant breakfast and kids club. It really is a treat.
But if you are expecting to travel all the way here to wake up to Lake views - be warned - the website is misleading and the hotel staff will not help you.

Can't fault the hotel, the staff or the location. Beautiful surroundings and little details like the staff giving us Prosecco for my boyfriends birthday as a surprise at breakfast was lovely. We drove from Milan malpensa airport via Switzerland that cost €40 for the toll roads so try to drive via Italy!
Can recommend the walk they have a map for in the room. ( the first time we tried it we missed the turning and climbed the mountain but that was also good)
Excellent restaurants 10 minutes away walking along the road and the hotel will make you reservations.
Should be a 5 star resort
Will definately go back
