Torre Macauda is over-priced. It should be rated as a 2 star hotel - or less. Please avoid staying here. We booked 3 rooms. There were hundreds of ants in my parent's room. Management does not care. Once you pay, it is difficult to get your money back. If you are seriously thinking of staying here for more than 2...

They assured us that your reservation was guaranteed whatever time you arrive - but let the hotel know if you're going to be later than 11pm. So we contacted them to let them know of our late arrival. Upon arriving, we were told that they had cancelled our room because we didn't show up. In the end, we booked another...

We travel extensively and were extremely disappointed with this hotel. The service was horrible (room never cleaned and no fresh towels), the reception desk people were indifferent and couldn't care less about the guests, the hotel was old, ugly and dirty. The hallways to the room areas used circa 1970's blue/green linoleum in the hallways with stark white walls. The...

We stayed at two different properties on the island of Sicily, the Torre Macauda being the first for 3 nights in late May. The pluses: room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The minuses: lack of basic amenities starting with no potable water in the room -- if you wanted drinking water (and who doesn't?) or anything to drink at all...

We booked the holiday as a short break, with an on-site Holiday firm, assuming they would book us into a suitable resort. The Hotel, it turned-out was occupied by 99.9% Italian holiday makers. We were the only foreign nationals, and the staff were struggling to understand English During the week it is reasonably quiet, however Saturday to Monday it is...

“If you really want to stay here and want to sleep before 11:00 pm, try to book a room that is farthest from the pool area. Otherwise, go downstairs and enjoy the music and dancing.”
