We visited Il Molendino again. Seventh time. Many of our friends and colleagues at work ask us: "Why do you go there again?" We always respond like: "Because we love it there so much!" And this is the truth. We love this place, we love the calmness and location of it, we love the equipment and cleanliness of the rooms/suite, we love the hospitality of Fabiola and Stefano, we love that Calci offers enough service - restaurants, big grocery shop, fantastic gelateria, bakery, butchery, local market every week and so on. It is easy to get from this location to Pisa or to the sea (Marina di Pisa, Tirrenia, etc) either by car or by bus. Also other famous cities like Lucca, San Gimignano, San Miniato, Firenze and so on are quite close to it. If you fancy to relax on holiday and do no stay in (over)crowded city centers or in their suburbs, Il Molendino in Calci is your choice! Thank you Fabiola and Stefano for your hospitality and for Il Molendino! Hope to see you next summer.

We liked the well-maintained property, decorated with lot of care and taste. The owners are really dedicated to serve the guests. The room was spacious, providing us with all comfort and relax. They could improve the breakfast options, making it more convenient for the international travellers.

I stayed with my wife and my boy 12 years old for second time at Molendino Fabiola and Stefano owners support us 100% for my tourist trip to Pisa and other Tuscany cities. Room was super clean and wifi working properly. I would like to point my attention for samples Shampoo and soap supplied by Mrs.Fabiola in our room, high quality products like you get at Sheraton or Oriental Mandarin hotels worldwide. Breakfast is superb with hand made cakes and fresch products, even I am on diet I got 2 slices of apple pie. This is a real unique place to enjoy Tuscany area.

This is truly an amazing place in a lovely setting, with Mount Pisano rising up behind this 14th century converted mill. Fabiola and Stephano are superb hosts. Rooms spotless, beds very comfortable, breakfast is sensational with Fabiola's home baking and freshly squeezed orange juice. The location is just right for Pisa (20 mins) and Lucca (30 mins) by car. Florence is only an hour away (car to Pontedera and get the train into the city.) Cinque Terre, San Gim, Siena, are all within an hour and a half to two hours easy drive. Also, if you are using a car, its worth taking a short trip north out of Calci into the hills. You go up about 2000 feet (great views) and descend into the village of Buti (nice restaurants, i Maggi was lovely). Takes about 30 mins to get there. So, in my opinion, if you are looking for great accommodation in a beautiful setting, as an ideal base to tour Tuscany, look no further. This is it. You have reached your destination.

We had a fantastic 3 nights stay at Il Molendino. We didn't rent a car which was not a problem at all because Fabiola and Stefano were extremely helpful picking us up and dropping us off at the airport, and taking us to restaurants and train stations during our stay. They are lovely people who were very attentive and outstanding hosts. They went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the apartment which was extremely clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The outside terrace gave us some private outside space. The whole place is very beautiful, both inside and outside. The breakfast is superb - best pastries ever, eggs, ham and cheese, cereal, freshly squeezed orange juice, and Fabiola's delicious home made cakes. As animal lovers, it was nice to befriend their cats. Trattoria Cinotto was recommended to us and the meal was unbelievably good. The B&B is only a 15mins walk from the local town, and there is a scenic walk by the river just on the doorstep. We really enjoyed our stay at Il Molendino - thank you so much Fabiola and Stefano - you are what makes Il Molendino such a great place to stay, and we would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

We had a wonderful 3-day stay at Il Molendino. The place is 20mins drive from Pisa airport with very good connections to Pisa, Lucca and Cinque Terre. The breakfast was excellent, the room was big and very nice and Stefano and Fabiola made us feel like home! They have cats also! :) We would definitely come back!

Just spent another week in Il Molindino, as always it was a fantastic stay. We spent 4 nights in the apartment and 4 in one of the upstairs room. As always it was spotless, the beds were really comfortable. Staying in the upstairs room we had the pleasure of Fabiola’s breakfasts, organic musli with organic milk, premium cheese and cured meats with bread from the local bakery, fresh orange juice, great coffee and best of all one of Fabiola’s freshly baked cakes with a different cake each day. Calci is fabulous and Il Molindino is perfectly located in it’s own grounds, There are loads of really nice walks in the surrounding hills. Lots of excellent restaurants in the locality. This is an old water mill which has been converted to guest accommodation and has loads of character, Fabiola and Stefano are wonderful hosts. The grounds are beautiful with 250 olive trees and small river running alongside. We were there during the Olive harvest and got to taste some of this years fresh oil.

My wife and I stayed at Il Molendino two years ago during our first trip to Tuscany. When we decided to return to the area this year there was no doubt where we would stay. Our second visit was every bit as enjoyable as the first. Fabiola and Stefano greeted us like old friends. Once again we stayed in the suite Pietraia. This room is like having your own apartment. There is plenty of space to relax, the bed is very comfortable and the bathroom is large. The shower has plenty of hot water and good pressure. With the guest kitchen adjacent to the suite you have use of the refrigerator to store cold items or in case you want to buy some food at the local market for an evening snack. Fabiola's breakfasts are wonderful. A great variety of food is available to suit all tastes. From cereals to pastries, meat and cheese and of course her wonderful homemade cakes. If you need advice on places to go, your hosts are more than willing to help you. Located close to Pisa, Il Molendino is in a great spot to explore the area. Thanks again Fabiola and Stefano. We hope to return in the future! Jack and Gina

My husband and I (Dutch and French -US residents) stayed at this B&B three nights (June 18-21, 2017). This old mill has been lovingly restored and offers the charm of a traditional Tuscan setting and style combined with the comfort of a modern day home (great wifi connection, excellent mattress, AC, comfortable armchairs and enough lamps and electrical outlets, etc.) We appreciated the great attention to details of our hosts such as good quality bathroom products, information about the region (and we even got a lift to a local organic olive grove to buy olive oil), linen table clothes and pretty table setting/tableware and the breakfast on the terrace was such a treat! Fabiola is a wonderful cook and every morning we truly enjoyed her freshly baked croissants and a beautiful cake or pie, fresh fruits from the garden, wonderful bread and delicious local cheese, etc. freshly squeezed oranges, excellent coffee, etc. Our hosts Fabiola and Stefano were gracious and discrete and extremely helpful. We highly recommend this place. It was a joy to spend some time there.

Il Molendino is a beautifully restored centuries-old mill that has enormous charm and comfort as well as reasonable prices and a good location in the quiet village of Calci outside of Pisa, near the Arno. We passed through for two nights there and spent a day visiting the Certosa di Pisa in town, a former Carthusian monastery (including the University of Pisa’s natural history museum), walking about downtown Calci (which is not very exciting, except for the wonderful Romanesque Pieve of St John and Ermolao), and walking about in the hills surrounding the town. As Calci is only 10km from Pisa, it would also make an excellent quiet base for visiting Pisa and perhaps Lucca as well. Our hosts were extremely friendly and very helpful (though we weren’t very happy with our experience in the restaurant Cincetto that was recommended). Our room was spacious and incredibly beautiful. Very highly recommended.
