This was our second visit to La Favilleta. We returned to show my sister this little bit of heaven. Rustic, rural, away from hustle and bustle. It was a perfect base for exploring all the wonders of Tuscany. Day trips to Sienna and San Gimignano were her favorites. I would not hesitate to recommend La Favilletta. I loved being away from it all but close enough to see the sites. Thanks again to Bernardo for his great hospitality.

We all (2 couples) loved our stay at La Favilletta. Beds were comfortable, water supply was great and WIFI was the best we've had while traveling. Bernardo was the perfect host, there when you need him and was most helpful with suggestions of places to visit as well as restaurants etc. Thanks so much for making a reservation for our anniversary dinner. The highlight was having Marie come to cook a meal for us -- it was fabulous and the after dinner conversation was most enjoyable. Would definitely recommend La Favilletta for a real Tuscan experience. One warning, the doors are quite low and those over 6 feet tall must duck -- something our friend forgot to do on a couple of occasions, one night after a few too many beverages. Highly recommended!

Dear Mrs and Mr Galloway and friends, thanks a lot for your good opinion... i'm very happy you had a good dinner for your anniversary in tuscany and that you have appreciated our advices. The apartment at the first floor was a paysan house so the doors are a little bit short... :-)... Grazie grazie Bernardo

We stayed at La Favilletta for 5 days this past May. We had six in our group and we all had a amazing stay. The property and location were beautiful and even better than we expected. We had plenty of room and all of the amenities that we could want. Bernardo was very helpful and pleasant. Once we got our bearings getting around was a breeze. We booked La Favilletta's private chef on our travel day from Rome and it was definitely the right choice. Maria was friendly and our meal was fantastic. The next time we travel to Florence we will definitely return to La Favilletta.

Enter Torri into your GPS. Pretty easy to find from town.

Dear Mike and Friends, many thanks! I'm happy you have a nice holiday with us and that you tried the dinner. The chef that cooperate with us is very kind, english mother tongue and, most of all, a very good cooker. She also organize cooking classes in her house that very close to La Favilletta and that's a real interesting experience too! Un saluto dalla campagna toscana Bernardo

Our party comprised seniors (grandparents), young couples and very young children (3 months to 4 years old).
The surroundings are very welcoming. Town not too far (for buying food and eating out, (though we enjoyed very much cooking "in house").

Fantastic view of the Arno valley.

I recommend "full buffet" breakfast and barbecues/pastas in the evening. It's a fantastic way to start and end daily trips to near-by Florence, Siena or anywhere else in Tuscany.

Swimming pool is tiny, but refreshin anyway, especially for young children.

IT WAS PERFECT!
Bernardo is a gracious host, he greeted us and was reachable via WhatsApp if needed. He gave us a thorough tour of the place and facilities, and had suggestions for places to see nearby.
He thought of everything in the apartment - a well-stocked kitchen, fluffy towels in the bathroom, the smallest details mean so much. It is clear that he takes excellent care of the property and living space - everything is clean and maintained impeccably!
Now the space.....beautiful - charming, functional and spectacular views from every window! The patio is where we spent much of our home time and the panoramic views of the surrounding vista were breathtaking!
Bernardo, thank you for having us, we hope to be back again soon!

We spent two glorious weeks at La Favilletta enjoying the amazing views, hot sunshine and the wonderful cities of Florence and Siena. Florence is a short train journey away and we visited the stunning city twice, especially enjoying thel Uffitzi art gallery. It is also very interesting to visit some of the beautiful villages in the Chianti countryside, where you can taste the wine or visit one of the many little restaurants.

Bernardo was often to be found at La Faviletta tending the garden and pool, he was very friendly and helpful. Although there are three properties at La Faviletta which share the garden and pool, we found that it was a very sociable time meeting new people from different countries and sharing a drink at the pool side together in the evening.

La Faviletta is approached by quite a long, rough and rocky road as mentioned in other reviews but if you drive slowly this is fine. There are also three well maintained bikes at the house which were great fun to use to explore the surrounding countryside.

Thank you Bernardo for a great holiday.

Bernardo as a host, must recommend! Friendly, helpful and relaxed. Everything as promised. Rooms large and clean. Stunning views from all windows. Fantastic house and garden. Extra plus goes to pool area, even though the water is chilly in mid may.

We spend the past two weeks at La Favilletta and it was as nice as we had hoped and dreamed of. Secluded, in total silence, no traffic, awesome views, but still not too far away from Florence, Pontassieve, Rignano for shopping and culture.

The apartment had basically everything that we needed and was, especially in regards to kitchen tools, much better equipped than any other rental apartment we visited. (Only a couple of big drinking glasses would be nice, the ones that are available, where small and it was hot, so you need to drink a lot. :-)) There were also tons of books in different languages, games and movies!

Bernardo, the keeper of the grounds was very kind, helpful and involved. Thank you for that!

Of course, as already mentioned in other reviews, for the last two kilometers to La Favilletta the road was very rough and rocky, but our Golf, fully loaded with 4 persons and luggage for two weeks could handle it. No problem, just go slow.

I can definitely recommend staying there! The only thing that you need to be aware of are the neighbors from the other two apartments, some may be nicer, some may be not. :-)

We booked this property through homeaway.co.uk and unfortunately hadn't read the reviews here before we booked.

Whilst the location is stunning, and the farmhouse a lovely example of type found across hillsides in Tuscany, it had some major drawbacks for us.

We didn't realise that it was a shared property and the description on the homeaway site didn't make this explicit. We were lucky that our downstairs neighbours were fairly quiet but when they were more animated in the evenings we could hear them. With 3 properties on the site, if it had been warm enough to use the gardens and pool (it isn't available until May, which we didn't know in advance) we'd have needed to make friends with our neighbours.

Our holiday was in early April when we had hoped to have good weather. Unfortunately the first 4 days of our week brought strong winds and rain. We had to pay extra for heating and despite not being in the apartment for much of the day still got through 80 Euros of gas. The heating really wasn't up to the job though and we couldn't get the apartment warm, other than the small kitchen which is where we spent most evenings, which was a shame given the huge living room. We also found that rain came through the roof and window shutters. Including through the electric extractor fan over the cooker. We reported this to the owner who was aware of the problem.

What neither the homeaway nor TripAdvisor descriptions make clear though is that the house can only be reached by driving along a 1 mile track. We had to drive extremely carefully to avoid damaging our hire car. It also meant that whilst the village of Torri with its shop/cafe was in theory close enough to walk, in reality I don't think anyone would.

So, a stunning location with breathtaking views, but I wouldn't go out of season, make sure you hire a car that can cope with rough terrain and make friends with the neighbours!
