We spent 6 nights here for our honeymoon in November. What a lovely, quiet place. We used it as hub also, to tour around the area. Our trips included Florence, Sienna, Lucca, Pisa and Volterra. The hotel itself is quaint, very old, very clean and beautiful grounds. Unfortunately we did not get to spend a lot of time outdoors there...

Having returned to Chianti area for a second time we chose Villa Vignamaggio as our perfect headquarters to further explore the area. Chianti is packed with vineyards, olive groves, cypresses, old farmhouses, hills, valleys and wonderful people. The landscapes of the area are magical and the food and wine are simply the best. The best food tends to be in...

The place is absolutely charming. The rooms are delicately decorated and smells wonderful with the candles. Walking in its garden takes all the stress of city life out of your mind. We stayed at Vignamaggio for three gorgeous days. Rooms were comfortable, views were unbelievable, food and wine were great, and olive oil was fantastic. Very private, staff wasn't overbearing but was very helpful when needed. Greve is a great town...the chianti festival was going on during our visit, giving us a lot to do. We would definitely recommend Vignamaggio for...

Talk about idealic setting in Tuscany. The gardens, vines, villas are gorgeous!! The terraces and pools are very pretty with amazing views. We stayed in a normal room, little lacking on amenities i.e. bed was old, sheets even older, shower clogged and was small, view of the courtyard. Room was named Costile. I would pick a different room and probably...

Dear Guest, we want to thank you for the nice words about our estate, but we also feel the need to explain something: the name of the room you stayed in is Cortile that literally means Courtyard - this explains why it has windows overlooking the Renaissance villa inner courtyard. From the window you can see a beutiful lodge where...

A working vineyard with beautiful accommodation. A perfect place to kick off the shoes and relax with wine. Don't expect room service or on-call attendants as the reception shuts after 7pm and other than the once-a-day housekeeping you're left in peace. Our room (Number 5) was just above the reception and was more an apartment with a separate sitting room,...

Thanks for your feedback. We just want to clarify that wi-fi is in the reception area - all commual areas/living rooms at the ground floor and some of the rooms. Also the villa has this service available. We are currently working on the line to extend it to Casolese rooms and the wine bar.

Vignamaggio is a beautiful, characterful hotel set in a wine estate in the middle of the Tuscan hills. We - my wife, my son and I - stayed there during the baking hot month of July in 2012. The buildings were hundreds of years old, and had all of the atmosphere that comes with this. The room was lovely, food...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Half way between Florence and Siena, the estate extends for over 200 hectares in the hills of the Chianti region. Vignamaggio overlooks a countryside landscape, of forests, vineyards and ancient hamlets scattered about on the surrounding hills. At the core of the farm is the Renaissance villa, surrounded by Italian style gardens, which fill the spaces between rows of cypresses, vines and olive trees. A working farm since 1404, Vignamaggio has been cultivating the vines and producing wine for over 600 years. Open to the public since 1987, the historical dwelling offers first class accommodation with rooms, suites and apartments in the estate's farmhouses. ... more   less
