We stayed here for the first few days of our honeymoon in September and it was exactly what we had hoped for. Peaceful, quiet and Margherita's friendly welcome is superb. Breakfast served next to the lovely salt water pool was divine. Homemade jams, lots of fresh fruit (home grown where possible!) and great coffee. The villa was great, very large...

We had the most wonderful week at Villa Metato. Everything was as per the photos except that the swimming pool and surrounding area was slightly bigger and even nicer than it looks in the pictures! Margherita is the most wonderful person and made our stay truly amazing, and Metato really does give you the best of both worlds - the...

I find it difficult to fully endorse the chorus of enthusiasm for Villa Metato, as there is one serious downside that has to be highlighted. To get that out of the way first: the downstairs accommodation - kitchen, bathroom, and the 'games area' - is below the standard we expected: a rather basic kitchen (no dishwasher or microwave), and the...

First the VERY SMALL problems: rough access road, not ideal for low lying cars with spoilers ... and a narrow spiral staircase between the two floors. But that's it ... otherwise Villa Metato is PURE HEAVEN! It's worth reading the website before booking in order to fully appreciate the host's fascinating personality and background ...Margherita really is an inccredibly warm,...

A little slice of heaven. Perfect for a few days away from it all. Margherita seems to have poured her heart and soul into Villa Metato and it shows in every detail. Delicious local fresh fruit for breakfast, huge, airy room, nice and cool downstairs where our 20 month old daughter slept leaving us to enjoy lounging upstairs or around...

From first moment we met Margherita we knew we were staying somewhere special. A beautifully designed house with its own saltwater pool, padded lounges, great sound/vision options, Baldo! a quality kitchen, good glassware (very rare in rentals!) make this a great place to stay and that's before you even factor in the wonder that is Margherita! So helpful with any...

Our stay at Villa Metato was a wonderful start to our honeymoon in Umbria, the perfect hideaway retreat for us! From first contact Margherita couldn’t have been more helpful and efficient, and this continued throughout our stay. We chose not to hire a car, so Margherita arranged transport to and from the local train stations for us, and did a...

Villa Metato is such a special place - so special in fact that we returned for a week this summer after staying there last year. If you are looking for peace and quiet, a little bit off the tourist trail but still easy driving to the main sights - this is perfect. Nick, Marghe and Marcello make wonderful hosts, leaving...

My wife and I spent a week of our honeymoon at Villa Metato and what a great place it is. Nestled in the bush on an Umbrian hillside Villa Metato is located in some of the beautiful surroundings Italy has to offer. The location is just far enough off the beaten track to avoid the hoards of tourists that summer...

"My new wife and I arrived late on a Monday night at the end of May in our little Fiat (perfectly fine for reaching the house if you keep it in 1st gear!) and were greeted by owner Nick. Feeling somewhat tired and emotional after the rollercoaster ride that was the wedding we were immediately offered a cold glass of...
