Our stay at the Residenza Antica Canonica was wonderful. It is a beautiful classic residence house around the corner from the beautiful Duomo (cathedral) of Citta' di Castello. The rooms are modernized, with all utilities. We were able to shop at close by markets for food and then we could prepare our own meals in the handy kitchen of our...

This was our second visit to Antica Res. Canonical, and as before found it an excellent base for visiting Umbria. Elisa is very welcoming and the apartment comfortable and we would highly recommended staying there.

A hidden gem. We had a beautiful and genuine Umbrian experience. The rooms had a quaint charm and felt like a home away from home. The location was perfect. Woke up each day to the sound of church bells and cooing pidgeons. Our host Elisa was fantastic and made us feel like family. We very sad to leave. Very reasonably...

I stayed there with my wife and a couple of friends for one night only, very independent and spacious accommodation (residence more than hotel), not luxurious but clean. The place however makes you feel history, and the location is more than central, it is absolutely worth the price. Elisa is undoubtedly one of a kind, but remember to ask her...

We wanted to spend 2 weeks in Umbria, staying in an ancient walled town but easily accessible to the E45 and places like Perugia, Gubbio, Arezzo and Urbino. We also wanted to see Umbria in autumn and experience the food and wine of that season. We found all this in Citta di Castello and, particularly, in the Residenza Antica Canonica....

Citta di Castello is a little out of the way, but it is well worth a visit, and Residenza Antica Canonica is the perfect setting for your stay. Located right next to the cathedral, in a building that features a fresco from the 15th century, this place is just pervaded by the medieval charm that makes Citta di Castello so...

This enchanting residence is situated in the old "Canonica" of the Cathedral of Citta' di Castello, next to the famous round bell-tower, one of only two existing in Italy. The entrance is through a small shared hall, leading to the inside, through a lift : when you get out of the lift, you are inside the passage of the ancient...

Città di Castello is itself charming enough, but this hotel beats everything. The room was in fact a suite; all the basic facilities (good shower, plenty of hot water) were there, the service could not have been more friendly. Definitely THE place to stay in Città di Castello.

What a great place to stay. La Residenza in a strategic position, next to local shops, town center and free parking. It is a old and restored residence where the medioeval arches at the doors are amazing and there is a renascimental painting at the end of the corridor; the appartments are confortable and spacious, open the windows and you...

“Because of its position in the town, this is a quiet establishment so any of the apartments would be good. It is situated on the second floor (there is a lift) so it is also very secure.”

“Wifi works best if your room is close to the main office. No screens on the windows, but enough of a breeze usually to keep the bugs out.”

“Three of the apartments are arranged on two levels, some with very steep stairs which may be unsuitable for older people, children or anyone with mobility issues. If you have trouble with stairs, be sure to ask for single level apartment. Wi-Fi reception is available in the common area and is stronger in some apartments. If you need constant internet connection, ask Elisa which apartments provide the best reception.”
