The Domus Umbra is a so-called Agriturismo place – means in a farmhouse. However in this case quite modern. It is a bit difficult to find as it is hidden away in vast fields of olive trees. But once your navigation has guided you there – you will have fantastic views over the Terni plain – which are best enjoyed from the Infinity Pool. Yes, it´s Agriturismo but with all comfort. The friendly Gianmaria welcomed us warmly upon arrival and guided us to our spacious apartment room inclusive of a kitchenette. Best was the view from the balcony. We also got some juice and muffins as a welcome snack. Breakfast the next day was nice as well. If you like to know more about this accommodation and what to do in the area around see on traveltreasuresbymarion - So despite its remoteness the Domus Umbra is really a place to recommend for some nice countryside holidays.…
1 star is too much! the customer service at Agriturismo Domus Umbra is horrible, they are not patient or nice. My experience with them was terrible, never again. You should change the way you deal with people. Not a place to recommend.
My wife and I stopped here for a few nights on our Honeymoon. Out of the 7 places we stayed at during our journey from Northern to Southern Italy, this was our favorite. The owner was fantastic and his dog “Ulisse” guarded our door one night and joined us to watch the beautiful sunsets. The place made us feel at home. The pool and the views cannot be beat. We also took some time to hike the falls nearby at Cascata delle Marmore. We walked from the train station to Domus. It wasn’t bad, but for anyone that doesn’t enjoy a nice walk we’d recommend taking a taxi. Also, be sure to stop at the market downtown and pick up any food you’ll need after hours. From the picture you can tell we enjoyed using the kitchen in the room. We’ll miss this place and I hope anyone reading takes the time to consider. For what it’s worth...we skipped Florence to stay here with 0 regrets. We realized 4 days into our honeymoon we didn’t like big cities and museums. We enjoy some privacy and an authentic experience, along with any opportunity to hike or swim. If that sounds like you, give it a shot. …
The hosts were accommodating and allowed us to check in/our at our leisure. The home itself is very beautiful and newly renovated, it has a splendid view on the Terni countryside and has a few different activities on site (table tennis, foosball, trampoline). However, when we arrived the pool was under renovation and we hadn’t been warned! The reason we booked this place was because of its proximity to cascata delle marmore and the swimming pool, which meant we spent an entire day lounging around the estate hot and with nothing much to do. Be warned as there are limited dining options (there is one restaurant nearby called il gatto e la volpe which is really delicious authentic cuisine) so you must bring food to cook with in the kitchen or prepare to walk 7km to find a restaurant. Breakfast is mediocre and the hosts don’t know much about the surrounding area. …
Just outside Terni, this Agriturismo is fantastic! Positioned on a hillside, it offers a magical view of the Italian landscape. as well as an opportunity to relax. As it was just an overnight destination for us, as part of a 1000km giro d'Italia, the chance to relax was small, but whilst there, our beautiful host Laura help us by washing out kit, ready to continue the ride. If you stay here, you will LOVE it!
