Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Crown Resorts Club Marbella has garnered mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating the spacious and well-appointed rooms, though some have raised concerns over cleanliness and dated decor. While the resort's atmosphere is occasionally described as cozy, calls for refurbishment are not uncommon. The array of amenities, including pools and fitness options, is popular among guests, albeit with some disappointment over early pool closures and extra charges.
The resort's cleanliness generally receives high marks, and the staff's helpfulness stands out. However, the additional costs for certain amenities have led to some dissatisfaction regarding overall value.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed for 2 weeks in Feb. at Club Marbella. We were upgraded to the newer building, Sapphire, which was modern and extremely clean. This resort is well located for day trips to explore Andalucia. There is a free, easy to access, outdoor parking area (such a pleasure to know one can easily come and go without worrying about finding parking each time). What really sets this resort apart is the staff- to a person, helpful, friendly and willing to help solve anything. The breakfast restaurant staff was outstanding, and the breakfast buffet is delicious (for a fee). 24 hour reception staff also helpful and friendly.

Traveled to resort near Malaga, Spain with 4 adults and 4 kids (6-16 yrs) in the group. We had 2 - 2 BR/2Bath condos. They were very comfortable and had all we needed. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet with bar service is very affordable so usually stated the morning there. The kids played putt putt. There was yoga or water aerobics by the pool. There are many restaurants and mini markets in walking distance which we enjoyed. You can walk to the beach or short drive with public parking. We generally walked to Luna Beach when wanted to chill and continued on to Cabopino Beach when we wanted a more lively time and watch surfing. Great food/drinks on the beach also with prices cheaper than at home (Michigan). Safe are and we walked back at midnight. The resort has free parking. We had a car and took day trips to Gibraltar, Ronda, Setenil de las Bodegas, and Atarazanas/Malaga. There were so many other things we wanted to see and do near but ran out of time. It is hilly so if walking is hard that may be an issue and for small kids bring an umbrella stroller. The rooms were very comfortable. The internet was a bit slow at times but we streamed a game from home without an issue.

We really enjoyed our two week stay here. The resort was kept very clean and while there is no cleaning service it suited us as we didn’t feel we had to get out of the apartment early as well as knowing that no strangers were coming into the room. Apartment was a nice size for 4 with each bedroom having their own bathroom. Wifi was fine when there were just 2 of us but when the family were more it was restrictive as only 2 devices can be connected. Staff at reception were always very friendly and helpful. Definitely not recommended for people on wheel chairs as there are a lot of steps from level to level. This resort is around a 15 -20 minute walk to the beach and is uphill. However Uber is excellent if you don’t want to walk. Shops are close by for food and necessities as well as some great restaurants. Not too far from Puerto Banus and old town. Just look out for the extra €45 when you check out.

This may be a 3 star facilities but the actual apartments are only worthy of 1 - 2 stars.
The air conditioning leaves much to be desired as basically there is no air conditioning but the fan works OK.
The pots, pans, crockery etc leave a lot to be desired but try the chinese shop at the El Zoco shopping centre to get what is essential but not provided despite the apartments saying these items are provided.
Most of the children round the pool were fluent Spanish speakers but had no other language apart from one whose 1st language was Swedish and whose parents complained about the influx of local children in the afternoon!!
There are quite a few good restaurants within easy walking distance but the food at the restaurant in the resort is overpriced and I would suggest having a walkabout to find an alternative.
Shame about the local beach which isn't very nice but if you catch the bus to La Cala the beaches are 1st class. You need the 120 bus and it runs along the dual carriageway taking about 10 minutes and costing about £1.20 per person. + check out the Wednesday and Saturday Market in La Cala - but keep a hand on your purse /wallet.
I wouldn't visit again as the apartments remind me of the 1970s in terms of their decoration and equipment and the pool being very busy with local residents.
People considering staying here probably need to factor in the price of a hire car.

We arrived on Thursday morning and read that the cleaning staff will arrive on your fourth day to change you sheets and towels. They will not come in if you are there. My husband was wondering if that is only a trick to put you to do their job. And it was. On Sunday morning we opened the door and there was a big plastic bag outside with clean sheets. They do not even knock on the door. They just leave the sheets outside and sneak out.

I must start with the positive, the staff are fantastic and the breakfast was good value.
Now for the rest of the review.
The apartments are old and in need of refurbishment. The beds are old, the furniture need replacing, they definitely need to remove the old people home chairs and the whole apartment needs some TLC.
The balcony was dirty and a number of the floor tiles in the apartment were loose.
The restaurant/bars only open until 4:30pm and you have to book a 2 hour slot to use the pool, but I think this is due to the covid restrictions.
My safe battery needed replacing then I was told I had to pay an additional €7 to use the safe.
For a time share probably one of the worse standards I've ever stayed in and if it was not for the friendly staff i would have walked out. If I was rating the staff it would be top 5 but the rating is for the apartments.
Would I stay again definitely not.

We booked the resort through RCI. Despite the webpage descriptions of amenities, the unit was not as described. Specifically, there was no oven in the unit, even though the description said it should have had one. We had only a small cooktop, a microwave and a toaster. This severely limited our dinner options since everything needed to be fried to cook it. Also beware that they do not provide any amenities aside from dishwashing soap in a wall mounted dispenser. You need to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and even laundry detergent. Personally I’ve never stayed in a unit with a washing machine that did not provide at least one load-worth or laundry soap. Overall disappointing and would have been more comfortable and better equipped in a hotel.

We have been coming here since the late eighties when we bought in Regency palms. We gave that up as the promises made when we purchased were not kept. The last few years we have booked in club Delta Mar.We book while we are there for the following year which we did in 2019 for 18 Jan to 18 Feb 2020 and paid the deposit. In mid December when the balance was due to be paid we had an email to say we could no longer have that apartment but they could relocate in Club Marbella.when all coaches, flights, and transfers had been booked we had little option but to accept their offer. My wife is disabled and some years ago had a fall which left her needing urgent hospital treatment, and is therefore is frightened of all the steps, stairs and inclines at the resort, but the late notice gave us no choice but accept the offer. We have never been informed that the monthly rental is apartment and key only. This means no change of linen or cleaning for a month.Disgusting!
It seems that the club is totally orientated to Scandinavians and we British come a poor second.
The courtesy bus only runs on weekdays and then only to 16 30.
The staff are first class and We will miss them as after 30 years we will not be going back

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Rowe, Firstly, let us address the Covid-19 pandemic by hoping that both yourselves and your friends Mr.& Mrs. Burnside, are all safe! After reviewing your comments carefully, we were sorry to read that your last stay at Crown Resorts was not to your liking. The Delta Mar resort as well as the La Riviera resort have ceased to be part of Crown Resorts after the Special General Meeting of Club members celebrated during September 2019. We understand that as a consequence of this decision, you were consequently informed by our reservations department of your resort relocation. We also understand and appreciate that your preference in recent years has been to be allocated at Club Delta Mar however and as referred to above, this is no longer a possibility and as referred to above, this is a decision taken by Crown Resorts Club members. Your kind words referring to our staff are very much appreciated. Although we would love to be able to welcome you back to the Club in the near future, if this is not to be the case, then clearly this is a decision which is respected by us. Whilst writing might we take the opportunity to thank you for trusting and choosing Crown Resorts as your holiday destination over many years (nearly 30) and we will greatly miss both of you. We take this opportunity to send a very affectionate greeting to you both and your friends, Mr. Burnside. Yours Sincerely, Crown Resorts.

I would like to start by saying the staff were amazing and the apartment was very clean. However the apartment was like going back in time and not in a good way. We had stayed here before about 20 years ago and the furnishings had not been updated.since our previous stay. There was not a starter pack, not even water. We only stayed 3 nights out of our week. It got even more ridiculous when we were leaving. There was a notice on the outside of the door saying the bag outside was clean linen to enable us to change the beds and clean. What is this, the dark ages? Ih and bed had a huge dip in the middle.

Overall, I consider the hotel facilities to be in excellent condition. The units are spacious, comfortable and have all the necessary equipment for a pleasant stay. However, there are some aspects that could be improved.
For a stay of 7 days, as was our case, the service of change of towels, sheets and replenishment of cleaning items is only done once, which is insufficient for a group of six people. Ideally, these services should be offered every two days at least.
Another point to consider is internet access. This should be free for all guests of the unit, instead of being limited to just two people, and charge an extra for each person. In most of the hotels I have visited, a deposit is requested which is refunded at the end of the stay, while in this case we were charged extra, despite not having consumed or damaged anything in the hotel. I understand that this charge may be related to a service, but I think it should be included in the accommodation fee.
Despite these details, my family and I are very satisfied with our stay and very much enjoyed the facilities and services of the hotel. We appreciate the excellent service received and look forward to returning in the future.

We were there off-season, but I’d guess they would charge for pool towels, since they charge to use the spa, charge to have more than 3 wi-fi devices, and have a fee for utilities. Probably best to check with the resort. Or just use the bath towels. Good luck.
I’m not sure about the outdoor pool but the indoor pool n jacuzzi closed at 9pm.
The indoor pool was open during our stay finishing on 4th September - you had to wear a swimming cap to use it.
