The Holiday Village Majorca - Protur Monte Safari strikes a balance with a family-friendly atmosphere that includes engaging entertainment, although the lack of adult-specific spaces and repetitiveness of activities have been noted by guests. The cleanliness is generally applauded, as is the amicable and diligent staff. Rooms are spacious, yet some guests have pointed out maintenance and noise issues. Although the hotel isn't beachfront, the shuttle service and location are appreciated for their convenience. Amenities like multiple pools are a hit, but the cold water can be a drawback. The value proposition has been questioned by guests who mention discomfort in sleeping arrangements and underwhelming food for the price paid.

1st impression - great reception on arrival - greeted with a glass of wine and all staff really friendly - helped to rooms with cases and told all important details of room etc and printed copies of maps and meal and hotel details. Rooms spacious and clean and well equipped, travelled with our 5 month old grandson, cot and baby bath supplied as well as bottle of water in fridge, plenty of storage only downside of our rooms was that facing road so no view, lovely spacious bathroom and good shower, tea making facilities and free safe.
Plenty of sunbeds around pools and no need to reserve beds, loads of things to do for older children and all entertainment staff really friendly. Spa is a must visit for adults as doesn’t seem to be used much but is free and has steam sauna and jacuzzi as well as aromatherapy showers. Good gym again doesn’t seem to be used much. We hired pool towels which can be changed twice a week and just needs a deposit of 10€ each. Food is available most of the day and had themed nights in main restaurant every night , food generally good, all inclusive drinks available till midnight.
I would avoid using on site shop as very expensive and as theres
a free shuttle bus to the beach much cheaper to go to supermarket near the beach. Entertainment ok plenty to keep the kids occupied although a bit more for adults later in the evening would be good. Sports bar generally is quiet but barman a bit miserable and don’t think he really wants any customers, we felt like we were putting him out by going there. I would watch out for Spanish tummy bug as 5 out of 6 in our party all suffered even the baby unsure where or how we picked it up but didn’t eat anywhere else and all visited pools and only drank the bottled water - certainly something to watch out for as really unpleasant and spoilt the last few days of our 10 day holiday, so bad that we’ve all lost weight on return . Check out again very easy and offered bottled water for our journey to the airport as very early in the morning that was really appreciated. Overall a nice hotel and worth a visit if travelling with kids, our grandson probably a bit to young but still enjoyed at least the first week - a quick mention to manuel the shuttle driver as definitely a great asset to the hotel.

Stayed here for half term with the family and I’ve got to say we loved absolutely loved it, first time here and first time going away in October so was very caution about what it was going to be like weather wise mostly but I’ve got to say we was lucky yes it rained a couple of times but unlike England it passed after 5 minutes and before you knew it it was 24 degrees beautiful.

So the big things about the hotel before going and reading on here was the beds and the cold pools so I’ll talk about them first.
The beds are exactly what people have been saying, they are uncomfortable like really uncomfortable I’d say the first night maybe even second we was fine but as each night passed in the morning our backs were getting worse, not the kids on the sofa they were fine but me and the mrs oh my word it wasn’t pleasant waking up you need a good 5-10 min stretch on the back, what I will say is don’t book 2 weeks, infact don’t book anymore than 7 nights because you’ll just be dreading going to bed I think 7 nights is perfect there.
As for the pools they are cold I can’t lie but what people have to remember is when coming in October they are going to be, in the summer when it’s 30 plus degrees you jump in the pool to cool down, on the days we were there tho it was 24,25 degrees yes the pools were cold still but after a while of moving around in there you was fine, now you could go in the spa pool for a few hours a day with the kids which we did once and the pool is nice and warm and the kids love it but it’s not big and everyone else seemed to have the same idea so we only did that once because it became claustrophobic well it felt like that to us. My kids loved the splash pad they were running around there for hours and also the kids pools were great too
TIP for people who go in October or if you hate the cold pools or if your kids don’t like them and that is to go on the shuttle bus to the beach, it’s free the hotel provide it, the drive to the beach is about 3 minutes so it’s nothing and the reason I say this is a tip is because the beach is amazing our kids loved it we went back a second day the sea is a lot warmer than the pools the sea had little waves our kids were addicted to the sea they stayed in there for most of the 2 days so I recommend doing that.
As for the rest of the hotel the food we thought was great I feel that those who didn’t like it and complain are people who never do all inclusive because for a all inclusive hotel the food was better than all the ones I’ve been too before, there’s always a queue for pancakes and omelettes which can be a off put but there both so nice you have to have them the only thing we wasn’t a fan of was the deserts they look nice but don’t taste great and the ice cream in the restaurant we didn’t have due to the fact on our first day a kid coughed all over the ice cream which put us off.
The staff were all amazing we had a issue at the start it was sorted straight away the cleaners were in most days to clean the room and the entertainment staff were brilliant all of them you can’t fault them my kids went the kids clubs they are 5 and 8 and they both loved it asking when they can go again and of course they loved PTY
So overall a brilliant holiday will look to come again in the future

So I was slightly anxious about our stay here as I had read so many bad reviews however I was pleasantly surprised.

We came here as a family of 4 in September. There was me my husband and our two daughters (2.5yo and 4months old). When we booked we asked for a steriliser and my husband requested a stroller which we didn’t use as we have our own two travel strollers.

The room was lovely and clean. I would agree with the others that the beds are hard but not much you can do about that really. We had a cot set up for us for our baby girl and we took our own inflatable toddler bed. Rooms were cleaned regularly there was one time that they had taken they dirty towels away and hadn’t replaced them with clean ones. We did phone reception and they said someone would be over straight away with new ones and no one ever did. Not a big issue for us as I take our own towels for the kids and my and my husband had a spare clean one.

Im a really fussy eater and I managed to find something to eat every meal time and the food was edible. When we arrived in the first day at check in the lady advised us to book the three restaurants later that evening as they can fill up fast so that’s what we did. They were all lovely.

We only stayed for the ‘early’ children’s entertainment which started at 7pm and our eldest loved it and the entertainment staff were great at getting all the children involved. We were in block 2 at the very end facing the adults only pool and could hear the entertainment clearly so I can understand that it would be very loud in rooms that faced it and were closer which could be a problem for some children ( we use white noise anyway).

Our daughters were a little too young for any of the activities and things they had on for the kids during the day but there was plenty to keep the kids involved. One day when it was heavy rain the entertainment staff went above and beyond to try keep all the children busy and occupied with toys, instruments, games and face painting.

The pool area was lovely and clean. Staff could be seen cleaning it down every morning. There were plenty of sun beds available. However I can understand that this may not be the case in high season and they were all squashed together in the prime sun spots but this was a non issue for us as we wanted shade anyway with having the baby with us.

Overall it was a lovely holiday which we really enjoyed and had no real complaints with.

My first trip accompanying my daughter, her partner, their 3 yr old and 1 yr old. I wasn’t sure what to expect and thought it might be hard work but the set up at the holiday village made everything so easy.
We had adjacent rooms which was great. The rooms have a decent sized fridge so if you need to store milk etc you can. I thought the whole set up was fantastic for families, esp those with younger children. Very well laid out with a number of pools, places to get food & drinks, plenty of sun beds and toilet faculties dotted about so you didn’t have to go back to your room throughout the day. All the staff were so helpful, pleasant and friendly all of the time. The Entertainments team were fantastic with the kiddies, taking time to talk to them if they met them around the village. The splash pool and paddling pool were great fun and my 3 yr old grandson spent hours every day playing in them. The accommodation was very clean and our rooms serviced daily, (except on Sunday) The food was plentiful and a good variety and even if not everything was to your liking you could always find something you liked. Lots of fresh salad and fruit. I liked how friendly the other guests were and it felt like a comfortable place to be with little ones who don’t always behave as you would like them to! The Village is well maintained and staff could be seen doing things like pool water testing, and general maintenance, cleaning and tidying every day. The only thing I thought was that the play area is quite small and for the 1 yr old who found the pools too cold there wasn’t much safe space to toddle around. We worked round this but it would have been good to have maybe another play area or maybe a soft play area somewhere for the toddlers who aren’t quite steady on their feet yet. We didn’t use the kids clubs but parents who did said their kids loved them. Pool towels are available to borrow at €10 deposit per towel and they will only accept cash, and you have to show them your receipt in order to get your deposit back. I bet a few people lose their receipt and don’t get their money back so potentially take your own towels for the pool! (towels are provided in the bathrooms) You can rent a buggy for a week (€18) and there is a friendly courtesy minibus that will take you to Cala Millor and back. If you are looking to take little ones on a foreign trip I would recommend you try this place. It has everthing you need.

Just returned from stay,
Overall a lovely holiday but would not class this as a 5 star hotel but a very decent one.

Positives points of hotel
Staff were fantastic and friendly both local staff and HV staff all so enthusiastic and happy to help,
Restaurant staff worked so hard and had the place clean the whole time even in all the chaos of night time dinner
Hotel always clean
Children under 8/9 this hotel is a dream
Bus to beach very good ran regular and only and short drive
Always an area to get some peace and quite , hotel lobby, egg chair area, corner bar
Gym had basic but good equipment but could have done with air con
Drink machines everywhere to not need to queue at bar in the day
Pool areas were great with a variety of pools
Spa facility was free and well worth a visit

Negatives,
Sun loungers, told nobody to place a towel before 8am went down at 8am to find about 20% of beds left by 8.30am pretty much all gone need to be controlled better,
My children are 11&12 entertainment for them was not very good and would not take a child older than 8/9 to this hotel,
Night entertainment was very repetitive well the 4 some were ok and have it everything 5 nights out of 7 the same people singing different songs got a bit boring, found it much better when the audience was being involved in the entertainment,
We’ll staff are fantastic could be queuing for 10mins for a drink at night
Given 3 passes to the restaurants but not told to book on the spot and when trying to book finding it was booked for the next 5 nights so missed out using 2 of them
Pool table and table tennis area there should be more of them and outside as the room they are in was so hot and had no air conditioning

Our room which we had a couple of issues with the air con and a broken handle but can not fault the hotel as once pointed out they were straight on it and fixed the issues very quickly which cannot be faulted at all,
Apart from this the room was fine had all the facilities we needed, room is only cleaned every 4 days unless you put you sign on the handle so would recommend people do this,

Ovarall, I won’t return to this hotel but that is more down to the age of my children I would highly recommend if you are bringing young children here as that is really what they are going for.

If you have young children and perhaps the grandparents want to go along then this hotel is brilliant. Very clean and well maintained it has 6 pools to choose from including a splash park and a shallow kids pool play area. there is a small quieter pool away from the hubbub for adults only with a jacuzzi if you want some short lived peace. This hotel however was very busy but I don't think full and it was manic all day long right up to 11pm or later. The kids absolutely loved it with various clubs and activities. The rooms are amazing and very comfortable but if you are unlucky enough to have a room in one of the four blocks facing the main pools then you are also facing the main stage entertainment area which is horrendously noisy up to at least 11pm. I suggest if you want some peace then get a room on the outside of the blocks facing outwards. All the Kids had a fine old time during the early part of the evening after dinner where they could go up front stage with mum and dad to dance or take part in certain games on the stage. A litter later the entertainment turns more for the parents who by now are half sloshed due to it being an all inclusive hotel and boy did they take advantage of this. The entertainment was absolute rubbish, very poor indeed but the half cut hoards tended to stay right to the end with hundreds of young kids charging around screaming the whole time. If you don't have kids then this place is not for you. You wont go hungry here with the Buffet being excellent with very good choices for everyone. The hardest workers here were the very pleasant catering staff who worked tirelessly along with the room cleaners and staff who cleaned and organised the pool areas and walkways. Reception staff were very helpful and pleasant too. Callor Millor has an outstanding beach about 1.2km from the hotel so quite a walk however the hotel has a shuttle bus which runs every 15 mins for most of the day up to 7:30pm. Its very simple really, if you want a jam packed noisy holiday for the kids this place is great. If you don't have kids then go Adult only as this place would drive you mad.

We have Just returned from a fabulous week at the holiday village Majorca. We were a little concerned after reading some of the recent reviews but we always stay very open minded and really had nothing at all to be worried about. We were a party of 11. 7 adults and 4 young children ages 1,2,3 and 5. For anyone due to go you will have a fabulous time there. The hotel has a warm, friendly village feel as soon as you arrive with lovely welcoming staff and lovely friendly families .The food was lovely and the restaurant was spotlessly clean. Great selection of food and catering for all allergies too. 2 of our grandchildren have dairy and egg allergies and there was always someone to bring alternatives when needed including vegan ice cream which they loved. Rooms were great with a bedroom with a door and sitting room with 2 sofas/beds. The rooms were very clean. They are cleaned daily except for 1 day which is fine as you can get extra towels if needed. The entertainment team are amazing and very talented. They work so hard. Lots for the children to do throughout the day to keep them entertained if they wanted to. The pools were fabulous with a good selection of pools for all ages of children and adults plus 2 splash pads which were brilliant for our littlest ones. Plenty of sun beds and canopy’s too which is always good. Always inflatables left by leaving families. We did our own trip to caves of Drach. Booked online before we left the uk which is definitely cheaper and took taxis there and back it’s only 10-15 mins away about 20 euros each taxi which worked out cheaper than a guided trip. We would definitely return to this hotel and met many families who had returned multiple times. Just a wonderful holiday had by all.

Great family holiday.
I travelled with my husband, 23month old and 11 week old baby in September.

Arrival:
Greeted by friendly staff and a welcomed glass of Prosecco on arrival, speedy check in and bags brought to our room for us within 5 mins.

Room:
We had room 3501 which had an amazing roof terrace and jacuzzi bath - well worth it!!
Our 2 year old had the separate bedroom which was clean quiet and dark, equipped with a large travel cot.
We slept on the sofa bed with our 11 week old next to us in another cot - both ready and set up when we arrived at 10am. Baby bath also provided.
Our room was clean and had fresh sheets and towels everyday bar one (each block has one day per week with no room service)
The fridge was stocked with complimentary bottles of coke/sprite/fanta and a bottle of sparkling wine which was a great touch.
Roof terrace was amazing especially at night when the babies were in bed.

Food:
Lots of choice in the main restaurant, fresh hot food.
Pool bar has the usual pizza/burgers/salad for a quick bite.
My husband loved the poolside kebab shack.
Ice cream/lollies available all day.
Drinks were fine, cocktails not brilliant but the other beers and spirits were enough

Bus:
Bus to the local Beach was perfect - very regular, took about 3-4 minutes and driver very friendly. We went for a great tapas lunch and daytime cocktails

Entertainment:
Best animation team I have ever seen, so hard working for the children - ours were a bit too young to enjoy but 3+ year old it’s perfect!

Pools:
We mainly went to the children’s pool which was great, next to the little play area and splash pad too.

All in all a brilliant family hotel - ideal for small children - not a couples getaway but I think that’s clear when booking. Would recommend

Family of 4.
We didn't get off to the best start. When we arrived we found that our room had not been cleaned, there was hair and a finger/toenail on the floor. There were also ants in the bathroom. The staff were very quick to respond and we were given a bottle of wine as a good will gesture. The next day the First Choice rep checked in to see if we were happy with how things had been dealt with, which we were. The rooms are nice and spacious, we had several power cuts in our room and the staff were quick to deal with this. We had to ask the staff to spray some ant killer down, I've seen in another review about not having ants if you keep the room tidy. We were on the ground floor and didn't eat in the room at all. We were shocked to find out that rooms are not cleaned every day, I've not experienced this in any other hotel before. That's not going to help with the ants either. The beds are not comfortable at all - very hard and stiff pillows.

We liked the food, as a family we all like different things and it was great that everyone was happy due to the variety. The restautant is clean and guests are encouraged to use alchohol gel and wash hands before entering - not the hotels fault when guests dont do this. I really missed not being able to get a nice cup of coffee or tea other than at breakfast, this surprised me as the hotel seemed to be only UK guests.

The staff are all very friendly and hard working. I have to agree with most other comments regarding the entertainment. Whilst the in House staff are very energetic, the evening entertainment was not good at all. I know in a family hotel you have to sit through a kids disco but it went on all night! My kids are nearly 9 and 15 and would happily watch the more grown up entertainment which was only x2 per week (external acts). Both of these were fab but I'd expect those kind of acts every night. There are a good selection of pools which are cleaned and maintained well. The area above the stage is an accident waiting to happen (alot to do with parents not watching their children). Children bomb around chasing each other and get too close to railing where they could have a nasty fall. The railing needs to he higher.

There is a free shuttle bus to the beach but we really enjoyed the walk it's not far at all. There is a nice selection of shops and the beach is beautiful.

Overall we have enjoyed our stay, we wouldn't visit again but that's more because we don't need to do holiday villiages anymore now that the children are older.

We are about to go back home tomorrow, so thought it best to write a review before life in the UK takes over.
Even though this is primarily a family hotel my husband and I have had a fabulous stay. There are areas set up for adults to escape to and enjoy the hotel just as much.
The indoor pool and spa area is fabulous and has 4 different kinds of showers to use. My husband used the gym which he said is very good.
The food is fantastic and there’s plenty of choice. I’m lactose intolerant and there’s even alternative milks. I certainly didn’t feel I missed out on the food and if I had wanted to , the chef would have made something for me, but I never had to ask. We’ve never been to an all inclusive where there was so little food wasted by anyone. It’s just so good hardly anyone leaves anything on their plate. The themed restaurants are also very good and you get three tokens to use during your stay. Our favourite was the Indian.
The mini bus back and forth to the shops and beach runs very regularly. Along the shopping area I even found a ice cream place that sold a number of different flavours of vegan ice cream. It has blue awnings and a seating area along the side of the shop.
The entertainment is geared to the children but then happy children make happy parents! There is adult entertainment later on in the evening. I think our only criticism would be that the music is too loud, during the day and in the evening. At night though if you keep your window and balcony door closed you can’t hear a thing or hardly if you’re close to the stage area.
We only booked one trip which was a tour across the mountains to the west of the island. The mountain roads are pretty scary but the bus drivers are excellent drivers. It was an excellent trip. It’s a long day out and not one small children would enjoy as there’s a lot of travelling involved. But then there are other trips designed for families to enjoy, so no one loses out.
The rooms are large, and the balcony has a clothes dryer for washing or wet swimming costumes. The bathroom is gorgeous!! We’ve noticed that in the different areas, that the rooms are based, people tend to leave their inflatables that they don’t want to take home. This is by the lifts. I think this is a great idea and is recycling at its best.
All the staff from the management to the cleaners are all approachable and happy to make your stay a good one. We can see why people come back time and again as we’re planning too, next time with the grandchildren.
