Just returned from a lovely holiday at Sofia Alcudia Beach.
In no particular order-
Food is exceptional. It’s a smaller hotel so there’s less choice but the quality is so good you don’t need anything more than they provide.
Bar food was the best I’ve had in any hotel.
Lovely spa area but we didn’t use this.
The staff are very pleasant and helpful in all areas of the hotel.
Could get a bed at the pool at any time and there’s plenty of space around them. They’re all not jammed in.
That could be because the hotel is only about 2 meters from the beach. Perfect.
Hotel and it’s grounds are spotless.
Rooms are modern and spacious. There was a couple of things about the room that was disappointing.
There was no drawers. So we had to leave stuff everywhere. No where to put your underwear etc.
The shower had a glass wall between it and the bedroom. It has smoked glass along the middle of it but there is a large ‘S’ cut out of it. This means you can see right through to the person sitting on the toilet or in the shower. Not ideal if you’re there with a friend.
No full length mirror.

The hotel had a issue with their air conditioning as it was unseasonably warm. It took a few days for ours to be fixed which wasn’t ideal but the hotel did try their best, gave us a fan and compensated us for this. So no issues there.

There are very few English speaking guests here. If this could be an issue for you, we only heard one other couple while we were there.

All in all would definitely recommend the Sofia Alcudia Beach.

You felt welcome as soon as you entered. The property and rooms are very spacious and kept spotlessly clean all the time, we felt 100 times safer there than anywhere we’ve stayed in the UK.

There is a wide choice of quality food available at breakfast and to purchase as a snack throughout the day.

It’s right on the beach front so it’s easy to go back to your room if you forget anything and also very close to the bus service s should you wish to visit Palma or the old town.

The relaxation are by the pool is beautifully kept and at the time of visit was quiet.

Lastly the staff are welcoming and attentive, I can’t thank the lady at reception enough for sorting out a phone drama.

This hotel is perfect!

Comfy small hotel with a small pool. But this is actually good thing less crowded gem with excellent staff. We were bit early checkin in but still got our room. Premises are clean and nothing is unfinished aircon was working perfectly on the rooms. There was no bugs on the rooms that can be occationally the case in these hotels. Spa area is bit dissapointment it concists of only small 2m diameter sized hottub and water there was bit cold. Both saunas werent turned and they were cold. (I dont know if you shold request to turn thos on in advance or something? One issue with the the hotel has and that is that they keep pool entrance open to beach side. Any outsider can come in to the hotels pool and this actually happened at least two times. This means there can be pickpockets next to and you dont even know it! Breakfest is ok but its lacking fresh salads and other greens that are normally in hotels. Breakfest is eggs, omelett, bacon, potatoes in some form, bread and cheese and some meat toppings, pancakes and some toppings, couple juice options, cava, coffee (automat BS) no real filter coffee. Beach area is full of moscitoes, prepare yourself with reperlants. Also no music in pool area. Wifi coverage is OK, but the speed is poor only 4Mbps download and 1,5Mbps upload on busy hours. In the middle of night you get 22Mbps/12Mbps. You cant stream videos or even music because of BS wifi. I checked hotel could order fiber opticcable to get better internet connections if they want. I could pay if i could get better speeds!

This is a first rate hotel. Spotlessly clean and very friendly and helpful staff who always have a smile on their faces. Beautifully sited right on the beach. Pool excellent. The room with a sea view balcony was a treat and housekeeping first rate with the room being cleaned daily before noon. Food and drinks were great. Highly recommended.

We booked three rooms at this hotel during August which is the worst month to make holiday but in this hotel you feel fantastic. The stuff is very kind, the rooms are very nice and big because you have two rooms (sleeping/living) and one of our room we booked had a small kitchen, which can be practic when you have small children. WIFI is good, we had an aircon problem but only for two days. The breakfast is ok, but always the same food after 12 days of staying we did note enjoy the food anymore, the same for the evening buffet which we tried two times. But we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is incredibly clean. The staff are very polite, helpful and just nice people.
The food was wonderful, we only had the breakfast but there was homemade granola, honey on the comb which you scrap off (so very fresh) coffee that tasted delicious and a variety of options that all were tasty.
We had clean sheets and towels everyday and the room was just kept lovely - we had a 9 and 7 year old with so could get messy.
The pool was fresh water cold but once in absolutely lovely.
The spa is another added bonus - the sauna, steam room and hot tube (which i didn't use but my family did) we perfect.
The main thing we loved was the beach is just outside the back gate, next to the pool.
We would go back to the Sofia any day, absolutely wonderful stay.
Thank you

We have recently returned from a great stay at Sofia.

There are many positives but here are just a few:
* This has to be one of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff work hard to keep it looking great.
* The staff are efficient, hardworking and warm.
* Location - could not be better!
* Food and drink are great. The evening selection is not ridiculously vast like you’d get at some of the bigger hotels but there was always plenty available, it was a great quality and a good range.
* Plenty of sunloungers and space. At 10am there were still often 90% of the sunloungers free. Absolutely no early morning towel rushing here!

We had a ground floor room which was well appointed and modern but we couldn’t sit with the curtains open in the morning for example as it directly overlooked the restaurant area and the other guests having breakfast. Not a huge problem but we’d have like to have been able to enjoy the nice view more.

Yes, the window between the bathroom and bedroom does have an ‘S’ that you can see through as mentioned in some of the other reviews. Not a real problem for us as a family but something to be aware of if you are travelling with a friend.

Be aware that there is a €3 per person (over 16 years old) , per night tax added to your bill. I believe this is commonplace and not just for this hotel. Again, not a problem for us but we weren’t aware of this before our final day.

All in all, a really great hotel and a lovely holiday in Alcudia. So much so we all agreed we would like to return.

Thank you very much for your excellent, kind and honest review. Really appreciated. It is a big pleasure to read such generous words from you, and we feel so glad to see that you really enjoyed your stay in our hotel (facilities, services, food, staff...). We take note of all your comments and, indeed, the tax you mentioned is a city tax for the Balearic Government, and it is asked to be paid everywhere on the islands. Looking forward to having you back again in the future, we send you our best wishes.

Over all, our stay was very pleasant. We specifically chose this hotel for its front line location on the wonderful beach, and also for its chic, clean and modern design. The hotel certainly stands out amongst the others when walking the promenade as being very modern, up market and clean in design.

The staff were most hugely helpful, especially the reception team, but mostly the restaurant team; they consistently went above and beyond. Viviana was the most amazing hostess - thank you for all the ice!
We had one slight gripe with the tone in which my girlfriend was spoken to by the hotel manager when there was a mixup with the spa (we found out the hard way that just because you have a massage booked, doesn’t mean you also have use of the jacuzzi/sauna)

The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy and the showers are powerful.

The only real negatives for us, were that we went as a couple to relax, but the hotel was definitely occupied mainly by families with young children (despite our visit being during school term time) and so there was a lot of screaming, crying and generally just kids being kids; this in itself isn’t an issue, and certainly isn’t the hotels fault! we maybe should have researched a bit better.
We were however woken early morning when the kids ran up and down the hall ways which echoed into our room.
Also, the other slight gripe was that the room was a little too warm; the air con doesn’t go any lower than 21.5, which was too warm for us given that the outside temperature was averaging 30 degrees, and so sleep was a little uncomfortable.

Hotel located at first line in front of the beach. As it is 10 min walking from city, the place is quiet. the building was used as holidays apartments in the past, now it’s just started as a hotel so all the facilities are new. Rooms are comfy and modern decoration .my room had two main areas ..living room and bedroom …we enjoyed the nice pool and the spa area ..we also enjoyed the buffet breakfast where we find wide range of options (delicious food ) Thank you all the hotel’s staff to help us and make us feel welcomed over our stay, you are a great team …congrats !!!

We stayed for 6 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's a small, intimate hotel in a great location - right on the beach in a quiet residential neighborhood. Parking is free on the street. We were always able to find a parking spot within a block of the hotel. Our room was comfortable with a small balcony overlooking the pool. We enjoyed breakfast each morning, and a quiet drink by the pool after dinner every evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel appeals to families with young children. They play in the shallow end of the pool during the day, and are in bed by early evening - so the hotel is quiet at night. We enjoyed relaxing on the balcony with a book at the end of the day. Our only regret is that we should have booked a longer stay. Next time for sure!
