Nestled on a picturesque beachfront, Hotel Riu Palace Tres Islas garners praise for its impeccable cleanliness and friendly staff, although the level of service is sometimes reported as inconsistent, especially for all-inclusive guests. While the serene location is celebrated, its distance from local amenities is a point of contention for some. Accommodations boast cleanliness and stunning views, yet many guests suggest the rooms could benefit from modernization. Amenities like the well-maintained pools are a hit, but updates and enhanced activities could improve the experience. Travelers often debate the value of the all-inclusive package, with a preference for the half-board option due to better perceived treatment and quality. Despite its classic charm, the hotel's atmosphere is dimmed by outdated decor and variable evening entertainment.

the majority of reviews about the Tres Islas hotel are strongly positive and after visiting in August 2023 we agreed - the staff are amazing, buffet food is excellent and varied the rooms although it could benefit from a refresh/refurbishment ( as could some parts of the hotel ) the overall experience was very relaxing - slight negatives in that the rooms get only one key ( old style metal key in lock I'm afraid ) and one lift to the left of reception was a bit slow leaving you waiting for the doors to close otherwise no complaints at all - the hotel is spotless, the a la carte restaurant ( pre book in advance ) was fantastic and you are right at one of the best beaches on the island - I suggest a morning walk to take in the sunrise - there is a request not to book sunloungers in the early morning but a lot do but unless you need to be right poolside its not a problem - even the evening entertainment was a step above the norm watch out for Jivettes and the 70/80s rock revival show - overall a fantastic experience

Spent a week at this hotel and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful .
If you are looking for a complete rest and want to stay in your hotel this would be perfect for you as it is in the middle of nowhere with sand dunes all around there is a small supermarket about 10 minuites away but there is not really a proper path to it so a bit sandy when walking .this is also were you catch the no 6 bus to the town for shops and resteraunts 1.40 euro each way and takes about 7minuites for a change of scenery.
There are pool towels provided but no tea or coffee making facilities suggest travel kettle if you like to make your own,
safe is chargeable at22 euros a week should be included in a five star hotel in this day and age, bathrobes are provided hairdryer in bathroom but in our room nowhere to put your personal things by the sink other rooms maybe different,we had a shower with curtain which was fine and a bidet and sink and toilet,
There are two sittings for dinner and you are given a table and time for the meal which can be changed if not suitable by a very helpful matre d.food seems a little more suited to the high proportion of German clients at times but always found something to eat and was fine seemed to be no problem for breakfast and you can sit anywhere you like in the mornings.no problem getting sun beds but as usual some were out to put towels on early. spanish dancing show was great but ABBA show not so much but each to there own.
Hotel is in need of a refurb some tiles missing in pools needs attention .would we return possibly not only due to the location but could be good for some

We returned yesterday from what should have been a three week stay but this was cut short by TUI by 4 days as TUI were repatriating all from UK !!!
This is no fault of the hotel but we lost 4 days of our 21 day holiday .
The weather was very kind and also the famous Wind stayed away.
We were concerned about traveling under current Covid restrictions but should have had no worries you have to present your Covid -19 test certificate to the hotel upon arrival and the hotel had first class procedures in place .
Everyone at the hotel had to wear a mask at all times only exception was sunbathing by the pool .
In the dining room your temperature is checked morning and night and a mask as to be worn and only removed when you were sat at your table .
Hand sanatizer was everywhere and all staff wore masks at all times thank you to all the staff for your efforts in keeping everyone safe it's very much appreciated .
The hotel was I guess just over 50% occupied to fall in with Covid restrictions so plenty of sun beds to be had one pool heated and one not heated , pool towels readily available as the cushions that were once on the beds have been removed to comply with Covid regulations .
We have been visiting this hotel for over 20 years and have always been more than satisfied and happy staying at the hotel.
On a negative point we considered the food especially the sweets to not be up to the normal standards and also since the introduction of all inclusive the resteraunt High standards have dropped old shorts and flip flops are now allowed at one point you would never have got into the dining room wearing shorts, flip flops and football shirts !!!
In our 20 years of visiting we have never seen anyone intoxicated and making a spectacle of themselves on this visit we did encounter this on more than one occasion .
Are we losing the old Tres Islas so loved by so many ? Or will management realise they will start to lose many regular visitors .
We understand we are all dealing with exceptional circumstances and will see change but the sooner the hotel is returned to how it was the better it will be and another point is the charging of €22 euro for safe hire we travel extensively and know of no other 4 star hotel that charges for safe hire especially to Dimond class Riu cards so our 3 week stay started with a €66 Euro charge !!
Don't let my comments put you off visiting it's a great hotel in great location and value for money YOU will not be disappointed but being the best is easy to attain staying the best is very difficult.
Thank you to all the great staff who are without doubt nothing short of 5 Starr

This hotel's location is on the edge of paradise. Miles of unbroken views of the horizon, sea and sand dunes.
The luxurious Tres Islas hotel has two pools, one is heated with plenty of sunbeds with cushions and towels supplied. Easy to choose sun or shade. Run, jog or shuffle along the edge of the ocean and you will unwind and be revived.
The dining room is large and there is a wide choice of food. Being self-service, it is best to take the food that is just cooked in front of you and not left under the hot lights to over cook. Loads of salads, fruit, cheese and cakes!
Bottled water and wine is expensive, Water is 2.5 euros for a small bottle, Drinks from the pool bar are expensive and a charge of one euro is made if you don't buy from the pool bar but ask for ice for your own drinks! This is irritating and I appreciate that water is desalinated and expensive but it would be better to add this to the room charge. Even so I love this hotel for a winter getaway!

We travelled under the Covid restrictions however could not have felt safer; everywhere was clean, all staff wore masks and at the time the hotel operated at half occupancy to ensure that there was no overcrowding. We usually stay at the next door Oliva Beach which is all inclusive as opposed to the Tres Islas half board, however due to it not being ready to open were offered all inclusive and we were so glad that we accepted. The staff were friendly and polite, and were helpful whenever we needed something. My only issue, and reason for four stars on service is the food. Whilst there is a good range of food, they did not label it well, some listed, others not, and then they would list allergens, only to contradict that when I double-checked. Now mine is just an intolerance, but for someone whose life is dependant on these labels (and in fairness, I have encountered this problem in other Canary Riu hotels), Riu either need to get their act together and get it right, or do away with the labels completely, so that those with allergens are not lulled into a mistake. Apart from that, we had a wonderful 11 days.

We have been coming to this hotel for years and certainly plan to return. We felt completely safe during our stay as the hotel was spotlessly clean. There was sanitizer freely available everywhere and all staff and guests wear masks unless seated to eat and drink.
There have been changes which make the hotel feel "less 4 star." The welcome glass of cava has been discontinued as has the fruit and dessert wine in the rooms. We really did miss the glass of cava upon arrival as this really makes the guest feel special and sets the hotel apart from other hotels on the island 🏝️,hence the very good rather than excellent rating.
The staff are as hard working and polite as always so no change here. The evening dining arrangements have changed from two sittings to one sitting. We assumed this is down to the covid pandemic as guests no longer queue to get into the dining room and all have to leave via another exit. This is a change we welcomed. We also noticed the pastries and breads are now covered up at breakfast and thought this was an improvement.
For those coming to the hotel for the first time, this accommodation stands on an absolutely stunning blue flag beach.
The pool area is spotless with plenty of sun beds made more comfortable by pads which you can attach to the sun bed yourself.
We particularly recommend a seaview room with balcony. The views are awesome.
Rooms are spacious and we usually have twin queen sized beds. You can request mattress toppers if you prefer a softer bed. There's plenty of wardrobe space and drawers.
This is a quiet location with laid back entertainment but if you are looking for a night on the town there is a bus service and plenty of taxis which you can book from reception.
We always promise ourselves a return visit ti this property,as do many others.

Our third stay in the Tres Islas hotel. We had virtually the same room with a fantastic view on the fifth floor. We were extremely lucky to be able to travel again after the pandemic and very happy to be back.
The hotel is now all inclusive and the customer type has completely changed from our previous visits with lots more children, as before it was adult only.

The feel of the place at dinner is slightly more frenetic although the staff are fantastic and serve you very quickly with drinks and clearing plates away. Before it was all inc’ We used to like the way you had the same table every night for dinner and were welcomed in by the head chefs and managers when arriving at the sitting, now it’s a free for all to find a table. Again the staff worked rapidly to reset a table if needed.
They have also relaxed the dress code and in my opinion it’s gone too far, men now allowed to wear shorts at dinner is not exactly what you want to see in a four star hotel, so people hardly even bothered to dress up for dinner. I’m all for relaxing but it’s nice to make an effort in the evening.
On previous stays for our birthdays, there were flowers on the table and candles, nothing like that now. (We did receive a little sweet bag wrapped in cellophane in the room) These little things were what made the place so special. The reception staff told us it was RIU’s decision to change to all inc’ but we preferred it before.
The hotel itself has the most stunning location and the beaches are beautiful, clean and safe, being manned with life guards. The sun-beds by the pool were socially distanced by the hotel staff, so you had to be up to reserve your spot as some were taped off out of use. Even on the beach people were reserving sun beds with towels!

The standards of cleaning around the hotel are very high and the rooms cleaned daily. Lots of hand sanitiser stations around and mask wearing was mandatory inside the hotel and around the grounds.
The room safe is free if on all inclusive basis, this is chargeable otherwise. The hotel remained open throughout the whole pandemic which may explain things like lots of missing and broken mosaic tiles all around in the pool and the interiors could do with a refurbishment as it’s quite old fashioned. This is part of its charm though, very chintzy. The rooms could do with refitting especially the flooring as it’s carpet and stained in places. The bed was comfy though and the room has a fridge with soft drinks and beer on all inclusive. If you want a cuppa in your room though there’s no facilities so take a travel kettle. Pre COVID they would provide a kettle.

The grounds are lovely and the gardeners are always working, and the service by the pool bar is fantastic, waiter service drinks at your sun bed, what more can you need? Loved the jacuzzi and choice of pools and the closeness to the beach. Totally relaxing place for a restful holiday.
Despite the change to all inclusive I still give the hotel 5 stars because of the location, the service, the high standards, the good choice of food, and the facilities.

Wonderful hotel in fabulous surroundings. The staff could not have been more helpful and the standard of cleaning was superb. The food was tasty, varied and plentiful and served with a smile. At breakfast time coffee was brought to the table almost as soon as you walked in - no having to try and catch a waiter’s eye needed here. We were in lockdown after the first week as a result of coronavirus, but the hotel staff maintained the highest standards of service and professionalism and did not show any signs of stress. In fact, they showed a considerable amount of warmth and understanding right up to our departure.
The beaches and surroundings are lovely. It was a joy to go for walks on the soft white sand which were not spoilt too much by the odd egotistical dried prune naturist posing amongst the dunes. The local town Corralejo had a character of its own which we would describe as rustic charm as opposed to picturesque.
The only downsides were the usual selfish reserving of sun loungers, the odd smoker on balconies, even though it was meant to be a non smoking hotel and the beds which moved as and when they liked.
Well worth a repeat visit.

We travelled on the 25 July to 8th August.
We were tired when we arrived after a long journey from Uk,
We were met at the reception with the lovely reception staff.
Very fast check in a porter took our cases up to our room number 360.
We opened the curtains to the most fabulous beech and blue sea. What a view it was too.
Every evening we watched the wind surfers in abundance meet up on the beach to ride the waves.
The staff from the Maids bar staff reception waiters.
The people staff around the pool I’m not mentioning names as they were all so friendly and polite.
The night time entertainment was upbeat and lovely to listen to making the evenings really good.
The food was tasty fresh and all cooked to a high standard.
Things are difficult due to covid 19 but I can say the staff kept you very safe washing and sterilised every chair and table as soon as you left.
We would love to visit this hotel again sometime and have another fantastic holiday.
Thank you to everyone at the Palace Tres Islas for making our holiday lovely.

We have been staying at the hotel for over 18 years and our last visit was our 30th in all those years do Tres Islas must be doing something right.
We hate Riu Dimond class member and have visited Riu hotels all over the world and on near every occasion we have been upgraded to next level room and sometimes more we have never been upgraded at Tres Islas upon arrival and mentioned this to new Deputy Manager Paul who immediately got us upgraded to main master suite Thank you Paul your involvement was greatly appreciated . It will be interesting to see if Tres Islas do as all the other Riu hotels have done and offered room upgrade for Diamond members.
What can be said about the hotel I have said on previous reports as stated we have been taking holidays here for over 18 years and there are some Areas that now need tidying up .
We noticed young children in main pool with just nappies on aahhhhh why dose the hotel allow this when there is a very adequate children’s pool the pool lifeguard should inform parents children with nappies on are NOT allowed in adult pool . We also took notice of dress code in Restaurant people arriving for Dinner in football shirt’s , shorts and flip flop’s there is no way this would have been allowed 5 years ago Riu must decide which direction they require the hotel to go in 3 star or back to 5 star I know which I prefer.
Room’s
Of good size and kept spotless by cleaning staff Thank you your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Food
Plentiful and varied and of decent quality
Drink’s are quite expensive but the hotel dose offer all inclusive which is contributing to reduced standards.
Location
Can’t be faulted right on beach and location would stand up to any Caribbean beach golden sand and clear blue water as far as the eye can see
The hotel is outside main town and Taxi into town is circa €8.
The hotel I understand is going to be refurbished and we look forward to this and seeing our Palace back in all its glory.
We had a great holiday meeting friends from previous years and spent two weeks with great company and plenty of laughs
Will we be back you bet .

Hi Are the hotel drinks expensive? How much does the safe cost per week? Thanks

If you’re staying half board, the safe is €3/day €21/week, we were AI last two visits but have stayed HB in the past so I can’t give an exact answer on the price of alcoholic drinks but it’s not extortionist but water is expensive When we stayed HB in the past, we’d only buy the odd drink in the hotel, we’d purchase our own alcohol & have a few on the balcony at night or use our own thermos cups around the pool, alcohol is cheap enough in the local supermarket

Many RIU hotels used to have two sittings for dinner and whilst this suited some others said it was either too late or too early depending on what sitting you were allocated and sometimes the hotel could not accommodate your choice. So it sounds like the hotel restaurant will be open for a specific time and you can turn
